After first-time visit to this location, it is clear that Hooters of Hermitage on Lebanon Pike has some operating challenges. The servers that evening were over-worked. Yet has potential as a go-to sports bar if details were paid attention. Despite best tries by our server, our beer order was twice wrong. Yuengling Lager was served instead of Black Abbey IPA, and returned after visit by the manager. Shouldn't be that big of deal to make the order right. Out of Lagunitas IPA...or maybe didn't want to hook up a fresh tap. I tried to order a gin martini for something different. No Can Do. My mistake for ordering something unfamiliar. Lots of big screen TVs, and servers will change close by TVs to the sports channel you want to watch. Update Dec 21 Visit number 2 feels like a really bad episode of Undercover Boss. Fire the kitchen manager in the Hooters sweater; there is a camera right above the kitchen service window. For 2 hours I've listened to him announce last call for food. When I walked in he kept saying - smoke break! Out the kitchen window. I lost count of the times I've heard him say: fuck, nigger, somebody gonna have to call corporate, and once he even said - I'm gonna have to 'load my gun'!!! I don't know how this place averaged 2 stars. The kitchen window is right next to the bar so you can hear everything he says. He's not even shy! He yells this stuff at the window. "She rang up a burger and I said kitchen closes at 11. She gonna have to run a refund!" The place closes at midnight and he's been saying kitchen is closing since 9 when I came in for the game. "Where's my Waitress". That about sums up my experience here. My drink was empty for most of the time that I had my wings in front of me. Finally, I motioned to another waitress and she gave me a refill. But, this was not for being without my drink being refilled for about 15 minutes or so. I don't where my waitress was for most of my visit. She didn't even check on me after my meal was brought to me. Anyway, Chase Elliot won the Nascar race on Sunday. I got an email saying they had a promotion stating that since Chase won the race, that if I buy 10 wings that I will get 10 free boneless wings for free. This is because Hooters is a sponsor for the number 9 Hooters Chase Elliot race car in the Nascar series race. It just so happens to be a Chevrolet. It's Chevrolet's first race to win a race in the Nascar race in several months. Menu items ordered: 10 Texas Smoked BBq wings and 10 boneless medium sauce wings. Anyway, all the wings tasted pretty good but the 10 Texas Smoked BBq wings were a little dry. Final Thoughts: I have not given up on this restaurant. I might come back and give it another try soon. When I lived in Hermitage and the Hooters on Lebanon Pike was announced I was elated. From the time they opened until I moved away I ALWAYS received exceptional service and food. I was in Hermitage yesterday and decided to stop by my old favorite spot to reminisce and have lunch. Walked in and noted the dramatic renovations to the place since I was last there...looked great. From there...not too much else was great. Note the place was not busy at all. Service: During my hour visit, the bartender Sarah spent 40 minutes of that time talking to a group of her friends at the bar. Getting her attention was like trying to flag a cab in NYC during a blizzard. Food: Some of the scrawniest wings I have ever seen. I remember when coming here before the wings were large and meaty. These wings must have come from a 3rd World Country starving from famine for the last 50 years. And it wasn't only my plate...saw the same for all of the wings coming from the kitchen. Kitchen: Sounded like total chaos in there. Saw the waitresses go to the window several times inquiring about the length of time it was taking for the food to come out. Because like any sexist establishment, Hooters only hires ridiculously good looking women, usually with massive natural breasts or preferably fake ones. The people that brought me here (Jacob and his friend that does not want to be named), who live in TN, will give it a 6 out of 5 every time for the drinks, the wings, and the girls. One of them also claims they have the best burgers in America. I could not disagree more - the burgers are boring and bland. The wings are good, not great. The girls are spectacular... Jacob was too busy staring at the meat. On the burger, I mean. Typical Jacob though. I think he had the best case of beer goggles (for burgers) in America. My opinion of the food was very different from my friends. The wings, I liked. I've been to maybe 10 Hooters in my life and the wings are always pretty good, and don't taste microwaved. However, I got to try a bite of the burger, and it was horribly overcooked. The only saving grace of my visit here other than the nice wings, was our server. She was so lovely and adorable. But the Hooters girls almost always are. However, the bill was insane. And I think generally you tip Hooters waitresses twice as much as you'd usually tip, because they're wearing all that stuff (or that lack of stuff) for you, so it ends up costing way more than you'd expect. Drinks aren't cheap either. So, given that it is a corporate chain, it has to score 1, 2 or 3. Given that it has amazing beautiful women who are so nice, it scores 3. But given that it is so sexist and slightly overpriced, Hooters is back down to a 2. I was friends with several Hooters girls in college. I found out that working there is sort of like being a Cheerleader. You can consider it along similar lines, because the employees do. I have to say this particular Hooters has some really amazing women. And like every other Hooters it has good wings, so it's worth a visit. From trying to be seated and ignored for almost an hour to now my order being messed up because the girl taking my order was too busy laughing and chatting it up. I called to see if I could reimbursed for my fries not being in my order or if I could even come back to get them. The same girl who was goofing off answered and instantly hung up on my boyfriend when he stated his issue. Horrible experience from start to finish at the Hermitage location. I go in (first time in years) and there is no one at the front so I wait and wait and wait. I finally go to the bar and ask - bartender said she's coming. They take me to a dirty table ( full of crumbs from past guests) and she lays out menus on said dirty table- ick. I had to ask her to please clean my table - she did reluctantly. The server finally came and had no idea what they had as far as drinks so she had to go ask three times and then after we ordered she was wrong in the end - ugg so we ordered food - she comes back about 10 min later and says we don't have that anymore. Well my gosh, take it off the menu and at the very least the server should know all this - geez. Where is a manager??? We order other food and it takes a very long time, when we finally get it- it's not what we ordered... I kid you not. They try again but it took a very long time. I could continue and have even more problems but it was all bad - and in the end the food was terrible. The bathrooms were disgusting. Piss stain on the toilets and soap scum on the sinks. JUST FYI, it takes a couple of days for these things to accumulate. Typically speaking I enjoy coming to Hooters. It has the sports bar atmosphere which I love. I frequently visit this location. Unfortunately I have discovered that the management teamSpace or shall I say a particular manager does not value me as a customer. On Memorial Day I placed an order to go. A total of 20 wings and some fries. When I got there The time it took me to get to the location was approximately 15 minutes. I made no stops between my house to the restaurant. When I got there they gave me my order and I went straight home. I opened up my bag and took out my wings only to find that they were somewhat cold. I took them downstairs and placed them in my air cooker and heated them and gave my wife a portion and myself as well. There is no expectation of the fries being awesome because it's hard to preserve fries. However the wings although they were hot from the air cooker were somewhat stale. I was disappointed because normally on "to go" orders I never have to reheat them and to my liking they are at the right temperature when I get them home. I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager and he told me that he would write my name down and when I decided to come back they would replace them. A couple of days later I called the restaurant only to speak with another manager who said that my name wasn't written in the book. I'll take some of the responsibility because I should have remembered or wrote down the managers name that told me that but I didn't. However they gave me no assurance that they would look into it. I then had to ask them to check with the manager that worked on that particular day. On yesterday June 2 I called again and asked them did they find my name. The same manager that told me they did not see my name spoke with me. He shared with me that he had spoken to the manager that was on duty and he doesn't remember any complaints they had on that day. This particular manager who I spoke with seem to me didn't really care. No additional assistance no nothing. I got off the phone with him feeling devalued as a customer that frequent this establishment on plenty occasions. I made the decision to go back up there to speak with the manager personally. I wanted to assure him that I did not want any wings nor no credit for wings of that nature. I just shared with him that as a consumer I feel as though they do not value me as a customer. I believe the waitstaff does an excellent job. I believe they serve some delicious food. However the manager that assisted me showed me by his actions that they did not or shall I say he did not value me as a customer. Background: Moved to Tampa Bay in 1984, 1 year after the Hooters franchise was created in Clearwater, FL. I have 33 years of eating what are hands down my favorite wings. I've been to Hooters in numerous states and the quality was always consistent. Then they were sold to Hooters of America except for many of the Tampa Bay locations, which started the decline. I ate at this Hermitage location many times since they opened. Food was reasonably consistent with the original, as recently as a year or two ago. This trip to visit family was marred today by a lunch at this Hooters. The food no longer resembles Hooters. The traditional and boneless wings are now doused with a hot sauce of questionable origin, rendering crispy wings a soggy mess. It's as if the cooks and management are frustrated Barbeque chefs mopping BBQ sauce with abandon. They even place the always fresh and crispy celery UNDER the wings, creating a soggy buffalo celery surprise. If you visit this location, you will be getting Hooters wings in name only. For the real Hooters experience, visit Clearwater, FL or any other location in Tampa Bay Area. My first experience at this hooters was no holler. If I could describe the first waitress that walked up in one word, it would be F-L-A-T. On 1 burger added jalapeños for an upcharge and another burger added jack cheese for an upcharge. Requested mayo on each burger and requested lettuce and tomato on 1 of the burgers. Well here goes...no mayo on any of them, no lettuce or tomato, no onion rings, no jalapeños, and no jack cheese. Sad thing is on the sack the food came in it was signed off by a staff member that verified the order was correct. They must have a 2 year old verifying orders. The $12 for QUARTER pound burger was a ripoff. Yes 1/4 lb burger for $12. Contacted the restaurant and was given a manager that would not do anything at all except said I will need to contact Uber Eats. Did that and Uber Eats offered a $5 credit. Not even enough to cover the upcharges. What a joke. Its sad that Hooters cannot get 3 simple burger orders correct. I ordered it to go order from Hooters in Hermitage this afternoon I ordered fried pickles and 10 hot wings the fried pickles were absolutely cold the chicken wings were warm while I was waiting one of the waiters asked that one of the fries have extra salt the chef in the back literally poured at least five tablespoons in this stainless bowl of fries the other waiter just looked kind of crazy at him and tried to Shake some of the salt out of the container and he just said well they said extra salt the waiter saw it as well and looked over at me and I said that is just not right.
