We frequented this place a lot prior to Covid. It's always been great...and still is! My only complaint is that prior to Covid, they advertised a great deal...buy this reusable larger cup with the purchase of a bushwacker and you will get it refilled FOREVER with a shot for a certain price (it was $9, I believe). Anyhow, I've come in a few times lately. A lot of employees don't know about this. Tonight, our bartender did seem to remember the offer! Unfortunately, we were informed it stopped after Covid. The glasses we purchased are useless. We were poured a bushwacker in their normal cup and offered a topper for $2. No deal whatsoever. I feel if a customer comes in with the glass and asks for the deal they purchased, it should be honored. You advertised this special...honor it. Anyhow, this is a great place to enjoy a great meal and drinks on the lake. Lots of outdoor dining is available over the water. It's enjoyable to toss some bread to the fish or turtles swimming by. The bushwackers are, indeed, fabulous! The chicken tenders are super tender. Bar fills us with tons of regulars, so get there early to snag a spot at the small bar! read more

I think if you're on the lake and hungry, this is probably a good place to stop. But we came at around 2 on a Sunday, and despite many open tables, we had a bit of a wait. About 20 minutes for 2 people. They do have a cool text system so you know how long you've been waiting and where you are in the queue. Appreciated that. It was pretty warm out, and they had the big windows open, but there was no breeze, and we were inside in a corner. Our server came about 10 minutes after we were seated. He was very nice, but never refilled my empty water glass, and my hubby had to ask twice to get a 2nd beer. I ordered chicken tenders with a side of broccoli. I got fries. Fine, the universe wanted me to have more carbs. The food was ok. I think the food is a little more consistent at the Hendersonville location, but its like a cave in there, and I am not a bat. I don't think this is a great place to drive to for lunch. It would be pretty convenient if you're hungry and out on the lake. They have a fairly good sized courtesy dock and the boaters seemed pretty skilled at coming and going. read more

This is always a great waterfront spot when the weather is warm and sunny! While sometimes there may be a wait, all seating has nice views of the water and service is fast once you're seated. It's a staple when I'm looking for good summer fun and good bar food (dishes like the chicken nachos are big like the rest of their portions and good to share). Mood: Lunch by the Marina! They did not disappoint. Being able to see the boats & jet skies come in were so cool. Loved the atmosphere of just CHILL. We sat outside which duh, that's why you go there. But the weather was perfect and staff were nice. Was a super busy day but nonetheless everyone did their part. Ok so last night I went in with my mobility support animal with a prescription also they refused to let me in while there was a dog sitting at the bar total discrimination I live here I'm appalled new manager said no dogs but damn 3 lb dogs ok do know if I called better business bureau and consumer affairs and the disability act. Took the ROMEOs to Sam's because the weather was so nice and I've had good experiences in the past. Not so much today. Our server was absent. Maybe having a bad day, but we had to ask for our drinks (since they weren't brought within 10 minutes of ordering) and then refills (as we waited nearly 30 minutes for our food...and again as our glasses became empty while we ate). So when the food arrived, a second server lost control of the food he was carrying and a dipping cup of catsup hit the ground and splashed upwards, over me, the deck (sat outside on the floating deck) and the chair beside me. Had to ask for napkins to clean myself up. No one cleaned up the table, chair, or deck. (Did they expect us to?!?) My club sandwich had soggy bread but was otherwise fine. Had asked for regular or spicy mustard (I like for my fries), which never came. Fries were good and the middle of the club was good - lots of food and tasty. J1 had to ask for silverware (to eat his chicken breast) and it was also then that silverware was delivered for J2 and G so they could eat their fried catfish. They liked their food and had enough for leftovers, which they took home. Food was very good overall, but dramatically contrasted with the service, which was terrible. We've been here on crazy crowded weekends and it was never this bad on a Friday afternoon with open tables. Never saw a manager or anyone asking how our meal was going, so in lieu of that, using this review to relate what happened. Undoubtedly, we'll be back...it is too good a spot to put me off forever but will definitely avoid the male servers in the future. read more

An Old Hickory Staple! Sam's is in a Marina so the whole restaurant floats. Outdoor seating is shaded and has great views of Old Hickory Lake. Their food is delicious and prices are reasonable. Their bartenders make the best bushwaker' in middle Tennessee. Yummy sweet drink with a kick! Anytime I have visitors come into town, I'm sure to take them to Sam's to eat. read more

The fried catfish was great. Very crispy outside and tender fish inside. They used to have really good Mac and cheese but now at least for my taste, it tasted like garlic salt. There's only two good things I can say about this place. It's a great spot to sit on the water, and the bushwhackers are delicious. Once we were sat the service was terrible. It felt like the life drained from our waitress Kailey's eyes the moment she realized we weren't ordering any more alcohol. It took an eternity just to put in our initial drink order, and when my soda did arrive, it was flat. That wouldn't have mattered except that it took 20 minutes just to get her attention to get a different drink and another 10 to replace it. It took an hour for our food to come out, and she forgot to ring in our appetizer (which in hindsight I'm glad because I'm sure it would have been bad too). When my burger did come out, it was dry, underseasoned, and overcooked. We waited an additional 20 minutes for utensils, so the potatoes that I had asked for were cold. They would not have been good hot either; when I mixed them, a whole puddle of butter formed at the bottom. It tasted like butter with a little potato mixed in it. Please don't waste your money on this awful restaurant. read more

Perfect place to wind down by the marina. The staff is very friendly, shout out to our waiter Chloe who was very kind and followed up on our numerous group requests the 3-4 times we swung by during our business trip. The sweet & spicy chicken wings always were on point. From here, you can also easily rent a boat (license required) to boat up and down Cumberland rivier (from the dam to Two Foot cove) and dip in the water when you feel like it. It's convenient to park, because it is located at the end of street mall. Parking is free. Main entrance is kinda not visible. What is funny, because the restaurant is spacious. Where to begin, we ordered our food to-go from the bar which included a 12 Cajun pepperoni, a medium angus burger and some wings. We were originally quoted 25 minutes on the food which wasn't bad considering it was busy but only because half the restaurant was shut down. I asked the bartender to check on our food after about 35 minutes and she said ok give me one minute, she finally got back there 53 minutes after the food was ordered. Like so many places these days, they are understaffed. We waited nearly an hour mid-day on Sunday. Less than half the tables were being seated. Waitstaff was super. Did an excellent job. What a great place to eat lunch. This location is right on the marina at Old Hickory Lake. We sat outside on the dock seating and had a great view. Our server was great. We had the Spicy Chorizo Queso Dip to start with and it was very creamy and delicious. I had the catfish basket and my wife and daughter had the shrimp. The food was fresh and hot. I also recommend the I Believe in Nashville Blonde Ale. I had a draft and it was cold and refreshing. I hear they have great drinks and the mudslide came recommended. I'be come here several times! In the summer, we came because it was nice to sit outside. It definitely gets packed and they have some great outdoor patio seating. It's at a marina, so it's fun to see all the people out on their boats enjoying the weather. Winter is much slower, and it has to be hard to keep warm. Although they have the patio closed in, it's still a bit chilly. Also, they have plenty of parking in their lot, as well. My guy loves the ribs, so that's his go-to. I haven't found something I love, yet. Or like, really. I've tried a salad, the chicken sandwich, steak tacos, and chicken tenders, but there's nothing amazing. The fries are shoestring, which I prefer, but they're soooo overly greasy/mushy, I find them inedible. A couple times I've tried a mixed drink: the whiskey and Coke (Pepsi?) was fine, but the Old Fashioned I got was seriously like three parts simple syrup to one part whiskey and just...impossible to finish. I'd say stick to beer. The service is super inconsistent...but it's a sports bar, so I keep my bar pretty low. Worth coming by for the summer views, though! read more

This place has the best, cheapest beers for happy hour. I have come here multiple times with a large group, and they don't miss when it comes to the food. The pepper jack mac and cheese, spinach artichoke dip, chicken tenders, sandwiches, all fantastic. I am excited to come here in the summer time since it is right on the water.
