They are located in Castleton on E 82nd, tucked behind another big Asian restaurant, so don't let it get overlooked! We went for lunch, which is a $25 all you can eat bbq and hot pot. I chose the mushroom broth and my friend got the chicken broth - there are about 8 from which to choose. You order certain meats/proteins with the server and then the rest is "salad bar style" to choose sauces, noodles, other proteins, vegetable and more to either cook on the grill or in your broth. My mushroom broth was really flavorful, and there are plenty of options. Some of my favorites today were quail eggs, lotus root, lobster rolls, dumplings, shrimp & scallops. There were also a few dessert options (some ice cream and cold jello-type of items) but we were too stuffed to try them. The soups is served in a very generous portion - I'm guessing at least a quart of broth, and at the end, our server did tell us that you can request to be served less. If it appears you are wasting food, or want to take any home, that is charged at $12.99 per pound. #yum #ReviewsByRL

We went with the spicy beef bulgogi, sirloin, ribeye, spicy five spice chicken, and garlic chicken. The meats were fresh, well marinated, and the ribeye disappeared embarrassingly fast. For the hot pot, we built a spicy broth loaded with udon noodles, lobster balls, fish balls, crab stick, bean sprouts, lotus root, corn, bell peppers, spinach, cilantro, enoki mushrooms, and carrots. The broth just kept getting better as everything cooked together, so don't judge it by the first few bites. One thing that really stood out was the service. They stayed on top of the grill, replacing it when it got too charred and oiling it without us having to ask. The hot pot bar was also impressively stocked, and I never felt like the popular ingredients had been picked over. The ambiance was upbeat without feeling chaotic, and the whole experience was one notch up from just going out to dinner. My only piece of advice is to dress in layers. Between the tabletop grill and a bubbling pot of broth, you'll be questioning every life decision that involved wearing a sweater. Overall, this is the kind of place that's worth bringing friends who like food and don't mind leaving smelling faintly of barbecue. Honestly, that's part of the experience. I can't wait to come back!

I visited for the February Open House. The group that was there got a cheese plate to sample. The…read morecheese plate consisted of Snapdragon, Nettle, Fromage Frais, Trillium, and one other cheese which I think was Dutch Tulip. They were all fantastic. There was a short presentation and then a tour given by Co-Owner Laura Davenport. It was interesting to hear about how the different cheeses are processed and how Tulip Tree Creamery came to be. After the tour I made a purchase of two cheeses: Nightshade and Fromage Frais. If you enjoy cheese then you need to check them out. Their website is https://www.tuliptreecreamery.com/ On there you can find out about all the cheeses and where to purchase them. They also have classes you can take to make your own cheese. Patty greeted us and enthusiastically told us all about their award winning cheeses. All the cheeses are made on site from locally sourced milk. We purchased a variety of wedges and they are absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Trillium which is a soft creamy Brie-like cheese. We also picked up the HOPS and Nightshade cheeses which were wonderful. These were some of the best cheeses I've ever had. They offer three levels of cheese making classes on Thursdays and Saturdays. They also sell cheese related products such as cutting boards in their shop. The shop is just off Lafayette Road and 62nd Street. Parking is out front. Well worth a visit.
