I've tried various PTs through my insurance, but this is the first time I invested in PT out of…read morepocket, and it was absolutely worth it. I felt like my body was twisted and unbalanced, but the PTs covered by my insurance weren't able to help me until the issue I had been expressing eventually led to a severe injury where I couldn't walk for about five days. The PTs would give me exercises that I could have easily found through ChatGPT or a simple Google search, and then send me to an aide. When I had questions, the aides often didn't know the answers. They gave me A LOT of at home exercises, almost a quantity over quality, hoping one works. Then I found Dr. Gary! He is very different from a typical PT. He listens carefully to all of my issues (pain and discomfort seemingly everywhere. I'm sure I sound like a hypochondriac ), and then gives me some really odd exercises that I would never have found on my own. Somehow, I always feel better afterward. He goes all the way down to the basics, even teaching me how to breathe to properly engage my core, when to breathe during an exercise, and exactly where I should be feeling each movement. It's not just "here are some exercises, go do them." He makes sure I understand why I'm doing them and what I should be feeling. He also consistently remembers to send me my homework, often with videos. With the other PTs I tried, I had to repeatedly hunt them down to get my exercises, so I ended up having to rely on memory. Dr. Gary also responds to my questions between sessions if I'm unsure about an exercise, which has been incredibly helpful in making sure I'm doing things correctly. What I appreciate most is how much he genuinely cares about learning and thinking critically. I can tell he is constantly processing what he's seeing and what I'm telling him during our sessions and trying to figure out the root cause of what's going on. He tests and retests his hypotheses until my body gives him feedback that he's on the right track. I'm incredibly thankful for Dr. Gary and the care he puts into his work. If you're dealing with something that feels "off" in your body, I truly believe your health is worth the investment. Don't wait until the problem becomes a serious injury like I did because of the limitations of the insurance system. Take the chance! you may be surprised by how much the right PT can help. From the very first visit, I could tell they understand (and cared) about all things movement. The staff is patient, polite and gentle in a way that made a very big difference for me when I started my recovery journey. Their guidance felt honest--there was zero pressure. I've been through a few physical therapy and rehab centers, and what gets me is how super frustrating it can be to relearn things that once felt automatic. The team here met me exactly where I was at, which meant more to me than I can put into words--especially during a pretty tough recovery. For me it was worth booking a handful of sessions to take advantage of the discounts. Overall, I'm grateful for the treament I've received. Highly recommend if you're looking for physical therapy that feels both personal and is effective.

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

My friend introduced me to Dr. Hoops this morning and I am so thankful! Julisa, the amazing office manager is so helpful too. Dr. Hoops is not just a back cracking, adjustment chiropractor. His story is so great. He was a baseball player who at a young age had 2 herneated discs and had to get treatment himself. He was able to get treatment from another great chiropractor in the San Diego/Carlsbad area. From this he had great passion for the industry. He has so much knowledge and stands out. He does all the exams for the fullerton high schools and cares about sports medicine, massage therapy and everything wellness. His office is very convenient to get to and staff is so friendly. He offers all chiropractic services and is easy to work with. Call him...he's the best chiropractor ever! I forgot to come back and "adjust" my review since I had written this before getting my actual treatment. I scheduled the morning of and came back at 530 pm. Dr. Hoops spent time telling me what he was doing and looking for. He adjusted me and got me aligned. After 20 minutes, I felt so great and then he had one of his massage therapists take me in for a 30 minute massage. She stayed late for me and I was so appreciative I walked out feeling awesome. I have been to a lot of chiropractors and Hoops is my favorite. I really love that he treats the problem, but doesn't try to make money off my by telling me I need to come back multiple times to actually fix the problem. I always leave feeling great! I have had other chiropractors that don't fix the problem the first time and I need to go back multiple visits, costing me lots of money, to get the pain to go away. I have been diagnosed with metatarsalgia - a painful foot condition, I always feel like I am stepping on something- it's terrible. The podiatrist I consulted suggested surgery, not what I want. My acupuncturist swears he can fix it, but I would have to stay off the foot for a while, harder than you might think. I figured a chiropractor would be my last resort while I was in town. I was able to get an appointment and explained the situation to Dr. Song. He attached me to some machines, manipulated my foot, and rubbed some oil on it. He also took time to instruct me on a couple of stretches I could do to keep it feeling better. I walked out of the first visit feeling better than I had since I injured my foot. I came back a couple of days later for the same thing and here I am a week later on the other side of the world feeling better. I know some people doubt chiropractors, some doubt acupuncture, some doubt vaccines--give it a try. The work I saw being done was top notch and not expensive.

About 15 years ago, I used to go to a chiropractor to get adjusted. For some reason I stopped going, and fast forward to 2020, and I hit 50 year old. I felt like I am falling apart and start getting lower back pain, and bones that used to not crick are now cricking and cracking. My insurance changed (for the better!) and offered chiropractic benefits in their new alternative medicine package. Dr. Miller was on the list, so I called and got an appointment for a Thursday afternoon. During the Covid19 time, appointments are required, as well as masks. The staff sanitizes the pen you use to sign in, and limits the number of people in the office. After filling out my paperwork, and signing my life away I met with Dr. Miller who had me do some tests, from a posture test, a stretching test, etc to see my mobility and capability of my body. After accessing my range of motion, she asked for my permission to do a few adjustments. It was just like I remembered... as soon as she gave me a few clicks, I felt relief. Fact is: my body needed to get realigned... like a car. I have poor posture (my fault for being a slouch) so over the years my body adapted to my laziness. She told me what I should expect 24-48 hours after the appointment (ie: soreness, etc.) and what to do. Before the appointment I had issues going to bed. Even after 1 appointment, I felt much better as I retired for the night. I'm very pleased with my initial appointment, and look forward in my next one coming up in a week as she slowly tweeks me back to getting realigned.
