The sauces that came with the meal were just as great. The texture of the 6. 2 Catfish or Tilapia or Flounder with 10 Shrimp or 3 Wings what's amazing, not many places have that texture. The food was fresh and hot and let me tell you the restuaurant is fire. The service is awesome and let me tell you. These people know how to treat their customers very well. Will definitely come again. read more

Need to clean up the spot the place is dirty and unwelcome. The food is average but you get enough for the cost

This place is some Bull Shit!!!! This is what happened to me last night and I ended up in the ER last night getting X-Rays. there was hair and sewin thread in my chicken ... Clearly it was embedded in the flour. I will be taking legal action!!! THE WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER! read more

Customer service was good and attentive. However the food was subpar. The fries tasted old and the fish was very soggy and mushy. The shrimp was okay. read more

We wanted to find a local place that served great chicken, this was the spot. The service was super friendly, fast and welcoming. The chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy outside, juicy and moist inside. The fries and seasons were amazing too. We'll definitely go back when we're back in town. read more

Hooks & Cook Fish And Chicken - Chicken strip basket with fries - Seafood Near Me - Augusta, Georgia

After three years I'm still a fan! We weren't feeling burgers/dogs for the holiday, so we were looking for takeout. After searching for what seemed an eternity we remembered Hooks and Cook. As usual, everything was hot, fresh and served promptly with a smile. As long as this is true, I'll be back. read more

Good food and friendly service. The building seems to be clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.

Yooooo this is 10/10 if you are hankering for some well fried catfish - service was friendly, fast & efficient. The fries are just generic crinkle & the fish comes on two pieces of white bread to soak up some of that good ole southern grease, but again- drive thru food without having your house smell like grease is a win win for me read more

My mom is picky and she raved about how good the catfish was! This was my first time ordering food from them but I will definitely be back!

Although the exterior might look a little rough, the service and the food was amazing. Went through the drive through and sent my order and the person was so polite. Don't let stereotypes ruin your experience because they knew how to make sure the customer was satisfied. I ordered 20 wings with extra seasoning fried hard and a twin order of catfish. Made to perfection. So here is what to expect - when ordering the chicken wings, 1 piece is a set (meaning winget and drummet together - basically when you order 20, you get 40) catfish piece was like 8-10 inches each and tender and flaky. Ask for extra tarter sauce, it's in the packet but it's good. The hot sauce definitely reminds me from a northern perspective from which they place in individual condiment cups #memories Place definitely reminded me of Hip Hop Fish & Chicken in Maryland and some Bodega chicken you get from the corner store in New York. Don't forget to ask for "extra crack" - that's the slang for extra seasoning. read more

I must say the chicken is fried to perfection but ain't a bit of flavor . They have a powder seasoning they will add but again there is no flavor to that. I was highly disappointed. read more

We go here for the chicken livers! They are delicious and the serving is generous. Mom and I share a large dinner and it's plenty. On the last trip she wanted macaroni and cheese but was surprised to get fried pouches of Mac & cheese. I pointed out it is in the appetizer section. We had fries and cold slaw and it all tasted good. You can drive through or call your order in and pick it up at the counter, no dining in. Everyone there is very nice. As for ambiance, that's hard to say from the drive thru. It's located in an old Church's Fried Chicken building so it looks a bit shabby but looks are deceiving, it's a solid place to grab a meal. read more

Ambience. D Service. B- Food. N/a Price. A Found in the property where a church's. Chicken was for decades. Ironically, the church's sign is still UP! The drive up menu board is only half lit and can barely read. Would like to try...but for some reason today I was only 2nd in line and was told to wait. Which is fine, but just finally gave up after 5 mins. I see they have fried oysters and catfish. and would like to try ... Maybe someday. read more

It wasn't the best catfish that I've had but it was still good. The customer service was great, the young lady that was taking orders was very polite and patient. I will eat here again the next time that I'm in town. The inside is for call in orders only, otherwise you have to use the drive thru. read more

I was looking for a place that sold traditional fried chicken and this was the first place that popped up when I searched. I ordered a ten piece whole wing dinner with fries and red velvet cake. The chicken was really good and super affordable. I wish that the "crack" they put on top of the chicken wasn't so sweet. The red velvet cake was ok, very basic but it was just ok. Overall, I would definitely come back. read more

Great Food for take out. The shrimp were the best I've had in Augusta. My Dad really enjoyed the Catfish, and the chicken livers are worth trying. And everything was piping hot. Well worth the trip. Whatever you do go to Hooks and Cook when you're in the mood for seafood. read more

This is a hole in the wall type of place but the food. It was good eating and not to bad on the price. The place a dim lit but the food was hot and that's what counts to me. read more

Great spot for fish and chips, great service, thank you for being friendly and nice to your customers.

Unsuspectingly excellent! As others have said, I'd suspect the look of this place and the surrounding area might keep most away, which will prove useful to me in the future. It's hard to believe I can get fried snapper, restaurant quality, in a fast food drive thru. It was fried to perfection as well as the wings and the accompanying fries, which made for an incredible snack for my seven-hour drive home from Augusta. I'll be back next week! read more

Excellent food regardless of my choices. My personal favorites are chicken wings and fried okra. The salt they use is awesome. I have made this our family chicken and seafood place. read more

Their grouper, shrimp, and crab cakes are freakin wonderful. Their tilapia is pretty tasty and the snapper is good. Fries are decent, but their mac n' cheese bites dip in their hot sauce are definitely super tasty. Superb! read more

Stopped by this place on accident and now it's going to be added to the regular rotation. The family loves this place. The service was better than some "fine dining" restaurants I've been too. You could hear the gentleman's smile through the drive through. He was patient, as it was our first time there. Food was fresh, seasoned, and delicious. The exterior is a little rough but definitely worth it! Ambiance is chill. read more

Slow service but good food, fish good shrimp an wings. I enjoyed it a lot. I've been there twice and it was good both times.

Really good fried fish. Hot and fresh. Friendly folks and good prices. Love the combos fish shrimp and fries.

I looked at the pics on yelp and was happy to try the food at this restaurant. I was so disappointed when I started in on this meal. The shrimp and fries were stale and the chicken is spoiled! I tore it open and the meat was brown and it smelled spoiled. This meal was $20+ !! WTH?? If you choose to eat here check your food, you may end up with food poisoning read more

This place was amazing. If I can be transparent, I thought the place was closed down and drove right past it. Then I saw folks lining up for the drive thru. I asked my mom whether we should take a chance and we decided to try the reviews we had read. We ordered chicken gizzard and jumbo shrimp. Our food was very good and flavorful. I can't wait to go back. It was only servicing drive thru orders. read more

I had not even noticed this restaurant until I was hungry and new Washington had plenty of fast food places close by. I did drive through and first of all when I got my fried fish dinner my truck filled with a wonderful aroma. Faced with either gnawing off my armor ripping open the bag. I pulled over thinking it was going to be hard to drive with one arm so I chose the latter and ripped open the bag and dove in to some of the best fish I have had in a very long time. read more

The people who work here make this place so awesome!!! They could not be more friendly and helpful. The food is super fresh and the portion sizes are enormous. We will be going back regularly when we crave fried oysters and buffalo wings. I would say that if they were to make their own sauces it would set them over the edge even further. read more

This place is fantastic! The service is always friendly and the food is cooked to order, so it's always hot and fresh. I don't mind waiting a few extra minutes, because I know it will be hot when I get it. I've never had anything bad from here. Their chicken tenders are twice as big as Zaxby's baby sized tenders and tastes much better. We'll continue to eat here. read more

It doesn't look like much but it's very good! I got a lot more chicken than I was expecting for the price and I loved the way it tasted!

Hands down the best fish and chicken in town !!! They make everything fresh from scratch for each order. The staff is extremely friendly! Most importantly the prices are great......for now at least. Hopefully, they don't raise the prices because they are getting pretty popular. I got a recommendation from a friend and was hesitant to go, but it was my best decision ever. read more

Food was delicious I will definitely return and recommend. I ordered the catfish and shrimp meal and it was delicious!

I am almost 60 and usually don't go out of my way to write a review. Much less download an app to do it but I was so impressed with the food and service I felt compelled. The gentleman at the counter was very professional and seemed like just a really nice guy. The food was excellent and lots of it. When I walked in he was forcing closed a container that had a piece of chicken as large as my hand. I asked what that was and he said "a" chicken finger. I only could eat one. I tried the red snapper and it was delicious as well. I love supporting new businesses and this one will be easy to support. read more
