Pros: + Staff is amazing and understanding + Great lessons + Intense work outs + Great community + Convenient location + Multiple levels for membership (ranging from 1x per week, 2x per week and unlimited) Additional Considerations: Please keep these in mind, because I think this studio may not be the best fit for everyone. - Locker rooms to change, but no showers - Each class is about 45 min (compared to some other ILK studios that do about 60 mini classes) - This studio is located inside the Rego Park Jewish Center. This means that they studio cannot be open during the Sabath (I.e. Friday evenings and all day Saturday). In addition, they also cannot hold class during the Jewish holidays. In spite of this, they do hold several classes in the am and later in the evenings Monday-Thursday and on Friday/Sunday mornings. IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

They will make you work and encourage you to push yourself further and further. I hate the gym but their classes really help me stay active and so fun. They play great music and they even have themed events. Definitely give it a try! You won't regret it, pinky swear.

They have a website/facebook/app/Instagram and upload the classes/instructors on them. They are extremely responsive on social media. They have everything you need to keep you busy. They offer pad training classes/personal training/weight training for an additional fee. What's included in the membership is UNLIMITED classes for a month. You can take all the classes everyday seven days a week. I have a high stress job and this is my stress reliever. I take it all out on the bags. There are different instructors and each has their own favorites workouts. Here you can get HIIT, pure kickboxing, more cardio based, form/skills based, weight training and more "boot-camp" style classes. The facility is clean, it has AC/heat. They sell cool workout gear/water. They also use myZone is you're into that and have multiple TV screens to check out our HR and calories burned during class--for friendly competition. I have made many friends here. You do not need to be a pro to join, there are beginners from more advanced people in class, the music is BUMPIN' and it's such a fun time. The owners and instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and super chill. If you're looking for an instructor led class to get you into shape, with LIT music look no further

I…read morecame across a random advertisement post on Facebook advertising "2 WEEKS FREE KIDS KARATE, PLUS OFFICIAL UNIFORM!". I was interested in having my son try it out. I checked it out today and our experience from how we were treated at the door was unpleasant and we had to walk out almost right away. The man sitting at the front desk who handed me a paper to fill out greeted my son absolutely wrong. I could not even focus on filling out the paper because I could not believe what I was hearing. Karate is no excuse to speak to a child in a disgusting manner belittling him. He was mocking my son and had the attitude of "huh I can't hear you speak up" response. He told my son he would call him "cheesesteak" or some nonsense. He told my son "what are you here for fitness, swimming??. This was said to imply what exactly because I don't think you even offer that. You are advertising for karate and kickboxing. I asked the man is this how you greet the kids? He said they need to interact with the kids. Is that what you call interact? That was a negative interaction for the first time meeting the child and parent. That was bullying behavior. Behave with respect and professionalism! Not ethical at all because he actually thinks he's talking in the "right" way. He immediately crossed the line. This was just the greeting. I can only imagine getting more into the classes. I told him my son was feeling uncomfortable and he did not even care to apologize. He was only concerned about me giving him the paper I filled out. Why should I give him the paper after that negative interaction? My concern is tending to my son who is there humiliated and crying. Awful experience!

Go for It Adult Kickboxing…read more Pros varing workouts at your own level fun time punch/kicking experienced & fun staff easy to see improvements during workouts kind & supportive classmates Cons class schedule limitations requires some motivation/effort I joined shortly before the pandemic closed everything. GFI was great in letting me keep and take my classes after re-openning this year. Over the last 8 months, I've noticed that I've gotten more muscular and my belly has gotten smaller (I should have used tape measure before and now). I don't use the scale for measuring my health so I'm not sure about weight change. The reason that keeps me coming is that the bag work (punching and kicking) is super fun and I can see the improvment in technique, speed, and power. The teachers & staff are suportive and give me the gentle push to help me improve further. This may not be for everyone but it's worth checking out. PS: don't forget to thoroughly air out your gloves after use.

He was super helpful in getting everyone set up with their punching bags and stayed fully engaged throughout the class. Richard clearly explained the flow of the workout, demonstrated each exercise, and made everything easy to follow. I especially appreciated the one-on-one feedback he gave during class, which really helped me improve and correct my form. Glove rentals are only $5, which is more than reasonable considering the class was complimentary. The facilities are great and include all the essentials, like showers, and even a free laundry machine! Overall, Hit House has truly inspired me to get back into fitness, and I'm excited to stay active, motivated, and disciplined moving forward.

The glove rental was 5$ which was well appreciated for my friend who didnt have gear, but I also brought my own MMA gloves to use. Lockers and bathroom at the facility were also amazing. You don't need your own lock, and the bathrooms were stocked with a lot nice products to freshen up post class. Hit House really pushed and challenged us - it was a really cool experience to try out their unique Bishop punching bags. A great workout and I loved how I didn't feel like I was pressured to buy more and buy a membership after our class. Tip: if you do the kickboxing & flow class (yoga) grab a towel so you aren't slipping on the fitness mat for the yoga portion of the class.
