There is a solid group of consistent female students here, some who have been training under Professor Rob and Coach Vianca since their childhood/teen years, that continue to come here and train as adults at their own will. That alone showed me that this was a tight-knit, safe training environment, and was probably my #1 motivation for deciding to commit my weeknights here. Compared to other academies I have visited, Professor Rob spends a lot more time going into detail when explaining drills, and gives individualized attention to his students. He keeps a close eye on us when we spar, and then tailors the class based on what we need to improve on. You will not get lost in the crowd here, unlike some bigger academies. During class, he accommodates to every skill level and age group, beginner to advanced. If you are an avid competitor in the sport or just an occasional hobbyist, he will help you regardless. He is an excellent, and honest instructor who cares about you improving, and when need be, is tough and pushes you to be better. See you in class soon.

Initially I signed them up for 3 days a week but they love it so much that they asked to go 5 days a week. YES, 5 days a week and very happy, stronger, more confident, more stamina, very disciplined and organized as well as more clear minded. Not only physically they have improved significantly but academically too. Sensei Saro is top notch judo professional who treats everyone with respect, instills a sense of confidence, guiding my kids to challenge themselves, and to overcome their fears also to believe that nothing is impossible if you are dedicated, to pursue your dreams of being a good judo player and further more... a champion. Before starting judo one of my teenage son was at the lowest he can be mentally, behavioral wise and low school performance. Before it was too late, we spoke to Sensei Saro and we the parents and him came to a consensus that he will start judo. No exaggeration at all.... From the moment you walk into the dojo, to the moment kids coming out of it, you can expect everyone sweating, working hard and at the end of day smiling from what was an incredible session. We love everything about this dojo. All my three boys ages 7, 10, and 12 have been part of IJC for many years now. Year to year this place sustains its professional manner and the immense amount of individual care for every student. Kids develop here both physically and emotionally in the most impactful ways. Sometimes it is surprising how the sensei can share so much dedication to each and every of his students.
