I'm going to say this without hyperbole: This gym and the people in it have changed my life. My…read morebody and mind have gone through dramatic shifts in just over 3 months; from the darkest depths of depression, self-doubt, weakness, and laziness, to camaraderie, purpose, strength, and positivity. This is the type of gym you come to to learn and work at. The mirrors here are for technique, not flexing. The ring is for work, not Instagram. You don't want to waste a single minute of your time here, because any time this gym offers you is limited time that you need to value. And if you don't, you're stealing from the next person in line who cares more than you do. There is an air of machismo that permeates the space, but that doesn't imply sexism - it's something different. It's something that anyone of any gender can appreciate and use as a tool to advance their craft. It's something hard, smart, vicious - it feels revived and repurposed from days past, and it's something you may not even know you need. I did. And if you're reading this, you might too. Try to get a spot here. Sign up for just one class. It's not going to be for everyone, but you'll know right away if it's for you. And if it is, you're going to find exactly what you needed. Thank God this spot is here. I don't know what I'd do without it.

A great place to learn Boxing without breaking the bank. The setup is very much like a college gym…read morethat is: the workout of the day is written on the board, you do it to the best of your ability followed by bag work, pad work and coaching advice on your boxing technique. Overall I think that this gym offers a great Bang For The Buck considering that most Manhattan style Boxing gym's Segment and Monetize individual activities such as one on one coaching, pad-work or even the opportunity to spar. This gym, however, does it more or less as a complete package and at a reasonable rate. Including, if you can make it, Boxing/Boot Camp style classes in the morning, instructed by the owner. Like most boxing gyms in NYC, this GYM is somewhat rough around the edges. But when you get to know the people that work here and the trainers you will soon see you made a good discussion joining this gym, if your intentions are to get in shape and learn the art of pugilism. In a Nutshell, ... A TOTAL PACKAGE ....it's a good place to learn the sweet science without burning a big hole in your wallet.

Don't bother if you aren't willing to push yourself at least a little. All the teachers are friendly and professional, and obviously super skilled. I hope I can stick with it. I'm pretty sure I will. I'm a little older but not that old to get back in shape and stay that way. Right now it's Covid-19 time so we haven't moved on to BJJ and hard core Muay Thai, but as soon as this virus dies I'm looking forward to learning all of it. We do practice the kicks and punches though. I love how I feel after coming out of the place. But you have to push yourself or you will get nothing from what they have to offer. I want to be healthy in my old age, with the ability to fight for me and my family, if I need to defend myself.

Such an awesome gym! I trained here regularly for about 1.5 years all together. Every class you are…read morepushed to your edge in intensity. You constantly work on new skills and techniques. Every class is different. No two are really the same. Even when I would attend two on the same day, what would be worked on would vary. I got to meet some really great people during my time there. You bond over your time on the mats together and there is a connection that is felt between all (at least that is my take on it). Even though it went unstated; it was there. Even between those whom I hadn't really interacted much with. . . The common thread of Sitan gym had woven us all together. Aziz has to have some of the best energy I've encountered. He is always quick to smile and slow to frown. He would bring his daughters in often (and his wife trains in the classes as well). This really made for a beautiful feeling of family that spread outwards. I learned so much when I was there. Got to train with those who had never thrown a punch before - all the way up to true fighters. All the while watching my own abilities increase exponentially. . . When I started there I was in the former group, with little martial arts experience before. By the time I was about to move from the area I had quite a few others ask me if I was thinking of fighting myself.

Best Muay Thai in NYC, hands down. Every level from beginner to kids, and professional fightersread more

Pros: + Staff is amazing and understanding + Great lessons + Intense work outs + Great community + Convenient location + Multiple levels for membership (ranging from 1x per week, 2x per week and unlimited) Additional Considerations: Please keep these in mind, because I think this studio may not be the best fit for everyone. - Locker rooms to change, but no showers - Each class is about 45 min (compared to some other ILK studios that do about 60 mini classes) - This studio is located inside the Rego Park Jewish Center. This means that they studio cannot be open during the Sabath (I.e. Friday evenings and all day Saturday). In addition, they also cannot hold class during the Jewish holidays. In spite of this, they do hold several classes in the am and later in the evenings Monday-Thursday and on Friday/Sunday mornings. IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC
