Ordered take out very close to closing- and I admit I HAAAATE ordering (anywhere) close to closing time because I know employees are done for the day and just ready to leave- food/service tends to be "bad". A great addition to the Northridge area. I think it was the garlic butter in the pictures that brought me to try, Hook'd. This place is a fast casual restaurant. If you have a few minutes to go in and grab something other than cardboard between some buns, then this is your place. Fish comes with a side and sauce. We ordered mahi mahi, fish and chips, salmon, and a kids pasta. Fries and rice for our sides, and garlic butter on the side. Food was good. Did the job of satisfying us for lunch without leaving us hungry for more. Options include: tacos, salads, pastas, fried, or grilled. There is something for everybody. This is a fast-casual seafood restaurant. It's good for eating in and for takeout too. No real table service, you order at the counter and they will bring the tray to you. Price-wise, they are very reasonable - they have grilled options and 2 sides at an average price of just under $15 per person. One thing this place knows is how to cook seafood, and they do it very well. We've visited this location over a dozen times and have never been disappointed. They are very good at the grilled fish, our typical orders are for grilled fish w/cajun seasoning on a bed of rice with cajun fries. The grilled shrimp are good too. They also have fried fish and shrimp. These are quite good too. the first time I ordered this, the fish it had a bit too oily, but ever since it's always come out great. The fried fish/shrimp combo is very filling and very good. One way to speed up takeout is to order online and drive in for pickup. This will avoid having to wait the 10-12 minutes for them to prepare it. I would rate the customer service here 8/10 and that's because there is only one girl at the register during lunchtime and they get packed at that time. She is extremely nice and is doing a great job just needs an extra hand so I hope they hire someone else. They are pretty organized with orders and get all the orders correctly. Now for the food, my office got the following and here is each person's comment on their order: Fish and chips: very delicious but since it is taken out it usually gets soggy so maybe they should consider a different packaging than foam boxes for these. Grilled rainbow trout with garlic butter: AMAZING flavor, cooked and seasoned perfectly. It's not very filling but for the price, it's worth it. Grilled Mahi Mahi with garlic butter: flavorful, good portion size, but not the best thing on the menu. Fried shrimp: it will probably not be the best-fried shrimp you've had but it's still REALLY good. their homemade tartar sauce goes very well with it. Pasta: don't order the pasta. it's a very sad dish Salmon wrap: very tasty, not too filling Clam Chowder: Basically flour, salt, and cream. Jumbo shrimp with salad: the shrimp is not skinned so you won't just be putting your fork in your salad and have some shrimp with it too. You'll have to get in it with your hands and skin the shrimp and put it back on your salad. delicious but inconvenient. regular shrimp with salad: easier to eat than jumbo shrimp with salad Their salad is not great but their dressings are. Their tomatoes are not the bets tomatoes so if you get the salad or the wrap make sure you don't get any tomatoes. Their coleslaw is tricky. its either amazing or it's inedible. I've gone here on a Friday and I couldn't eat it but earlier in the week its much better. They may be making it on the weekend or on Monday and just serve it until it lasts. read more

My mom loves this place and had talked about it many times so this trip to LA I went with her. The prices for what you get are very reasonable, she had swordfish dinner with fries and slaw for $13 bucks, I had jumbo shrimp for about the same. This isn't a fancy place and no wine or beer menu but darn it if this place was closer to my house I would for sure go there pretty often. Great food and downright cheap prices. This is a great spot to have some mouth watering grub. The seafood here is delicious as you will truly enjoy the burst of taste that comes from any of their items on the menu. I've eaten from here before but it was takeout my boyfriend brought home, so this was my first visit. Parking is ample and the shop is quite large for a casual eatery but very simple. I was near the area doing some shopping, and called ahead to place my order. When I arrived, my food was ready to go as promised. I got the grilled shrimp alfredo pasta. You can choose 10 regular sized shrimp or 7 bigger ones, which are halved and still have their shells on. The shrimp were all cooked perfectly and the meat came right out of the shells! I had planned on getting clam chowder as well, but they ran out of it that day. Really glad for it though, because the pasta was quite a large portion. read more

The fish n chips comes with four big pieces of perfectly breaded cod, regular or Cajun fries and a side of cole slaw or any other side if you want. The shrimp fettuccini was loaded with big shrimp. The battered shrimp was loaded as well. And the snapper was fresh and delicious with the garlic cream sauce. We all enjoyed our meals so much that we all mutually agreed to come back again and again. This is my 4th or 5th time eating here and I must say their food is delicious! The first time I tried it, I ordered the Mahi Mahi and I have to say I was amazed with the amount of flavor it had. The food here is pretty much all seafood with a hint of a Mexican cuisine. Their Mahi Mahi is one of my favorite dishes because it has the perfect amount of flavor served with a bed of fluffy rice and your choice of salad! You also have a choice of garlic or Cajun butter (which is nice)... I also tried the rainbow trout, let me just say; if you're not into fishy flavors just stick to the Mahi Mahi. (The Rainbow Trout is just a little too fishy for me) one thing I must say, TRY THEIR FISH TACOS!!!! It's officially my favorite taco.... the tortilla is grilled to perfection, the fish is crunchy and the salsa on top is fresh. A definite must have!! The only thing that disappointed me about the place was the lack of proper menus & the overall seating. The menu is just a small chalk board with specials on it but that's it. They should consider actually putting a real menu with pictures on it so people could see the different variety's of fish they serve. (You should probably make up your mind before going there) lol... the seating was uncomfortable and outdated, the tables didn't have any sauces or filled napkins (which would've been nice )... I came here about 3 weeks ago and forgot to write a review. But better late than never! This place was so good! I've always been afraid of fish, especially uncooked fish but this place does it right! I came here right after a great workout at the gym and having a nice portion of fish, rice, and salad was great. I ordered the Salmon plate with Cajun seasoning. The portion size is great for one person or for two people who want to snack on something together. The Salmon was delicious! I was scared to try it at first because I'm not a fan of fish other than tilapia, and I can day that I enjoyed it. I would definitely order it again. We also ordered the grilled zuchinni as a side. We used some of the salsa from the salsa bar and added it to the zuchinni and it was so much better! When I got here on a Saturday afternoon, the place was empty. I did wonder, is this worth a try? And I am glad I stayed. I ordered the 3 piece fish and chips. Also comes with Cole slaw and tartar sauce. The fish comes in long pieces that are battered to perfection. Generally, you find minced fish in these kind of settings. Not here, the fish is flaky, tastes fresh and served at the right temperature. Cole slaw was unique. I really liked the flavor, slight sweet taste and the presence of raisins. Great texture. French fries were good. Only one suggestion here (and I have seen this at other places too), when serving don't put the fish on top of the fries (see picture). Why? Because it makes the fries soggy. Other than that, this is a great place to eat if you are craving for fish and chips. One more thing. The service by the lady at the register was very friendly and excellent. read more

The fish are cooked cajun style or with garlic butter and served with two sides. Prices are very reasonable. I had the white fish cajun style with rice and coleslaw. The fish was cooked just right and cajun had the right kick to it. I dont usually like coleslaw but I like the coleslaw here because they add raisins to it. It makes it better tasting. This place turned out to be a good find. Ordered the grilled Cajun red snapper with rice and coleslaw. Fish was grilled perfectly and flavor was good. The coleslaw was really tasty - not too creamy and nice and crunchy; it has yellow raisins which complemented it pretty well. The rice was a pilaf and was ok, didn't have any flavor. Ordered tacos - mahi, white fish and shrimp. Again seafood cooked perfectly, topped w yummy coleslaw and a good sauce. A little disappointed because we ordered a bowl of clam chowder and it wasn't until about 15 minutes of waiting and hubby going to ask if we can have it, that we were told they were out of it. Instead we have had the ahi poke which was really good but a little pricey for the size and a little too many onions (and I love onions). The wait was long, so be aware of that, but because we weren't in a hurry it was ok and the food was worth it. Next time I'll make sure to order ahead! read more

This place really started out great, I would order here three times a week, sometimes more, we had an amazing relationship. It was exciting, we had chemistry. But now that we have gotten to know each other, it feels like the spark is gone, its too familiar. Before you judge: I've tried to spice things up, trying new menu items, eating things in different parts of the house, even in public. Unfortunately though, you cant force things to work if at the end of the day you find yourself thinking about other restaurants. We ordered the fish taco, grilled red snapper, calamari and fried shrimp, and fish and chips with salad instead of chips. Their fried items were executed perfectly, tender and juicy on the inside and perfect crispy on the outside. The batter on the calamari and the shrimp were breadcrumbs and the batter on the fish was the classic fish and chip wet batter- light and airy with a shattering crunch. Delicious! Their sauces were also very good. The red snapper on the other hand was severely overcooked and very dry. We were saddened by this since we love red snapper and this was our worst experience. The other thing we weren't a fan of was how wet salad was served - the salad should be drained. Maybe that's a sign that we should of been bad all the way and gotten the fries instead lol. Overall the service was friendly and the quality of the food was really good. We would definitely come back for the fried items. Parking is easy in the shared lot (with Goodwill and Bank of America - just be extra careful if you have a lowered car). read more
