I legitimately haven't written a Yelp review since 2015, but I had to come out of hibernation for my man Wes, who braved 80 mph El Cajon crackhead driving to save my ass on the side of the freeway this afternoon. A timeline is in order: 1:35: Leave house for my mechanic's garage to investigate mysterious thumping noise coming from the rear left tire of my '88 Bronco 1:36: Think distinctly to myself that I should have just sprung for a tow instead of trying to drive the 17 miles there 1:50: While keeping up with traffic at 65 mph on I-8 east, tap brakes only to realize the rear of the truck is shimmying like a sack full of rodents 1:51: Really, really regretting not calling for a tow. Begin praying 1:53: 2.5 miles from the garage. Praying intensifies. So does squirming from rear of truck 1:55: The truck makes the sound I'm intently listening for and hoping it won't make -- a loud crack, followed by the immediate loss of power 1:55: Forced to pull over in the narrow zone between where I-8 splits into Exit 17A, literal feet from the exit sign 1:56: Get out of truck to inspect damage. Regret it immediately. Rear left wheel has sheared completely off the hub, and is jammed under the quarter panel 1:58: Call Hook Up Towing. Phone is immediately answered by Wes, who says he'll be there in 20 minutes. I am surprised and appreciative, but somewhat doubtful 2:20: Wes calls to apologize for being late, and says he'll be there in 5 minutes. I am in disbelief that he bothered to call at all 2:25: Wes shows up as promised, grimaces at the damage and positioning of the truck, pulls on his gloves, and gets to work. He jacks up the rear and we pull out the homicidal wheel which tried to kill us both. Pulls his tow rig partially into traffic (!!!) to get into a position where my truck can be hauled into the bed. Lets me steer the truck like a big boy while he winches us up and cars blow past on either side. Death is imminent 2:35: We are on our way to my final destination, just 40 minutes after I nearly died in a fiery crash by a fucking Mazda dealership in El Cajon Wes and Hook Up Towing are incredibly prompt and professional. I was quoted and charged $75 - a steal for the trouble Wes had to go through in order to get my truck into the bed of his tow rig. If you're reading this review from the side of the road anywhere in the East County area, give him a call and rest easy. He'll be there in 20 minutes. read more

Came out to what I assumed was a dead battery. Checked on Yelp and asked for a few quotes. Hook Up Towing came in far and away the most reasonable. Wait time ended up being twice what was originally estimated but I was kept up to date and given the option to cancel each time. The driver responded well to my questions, excellent communication, and I felt really comfortable using this service. I hope I won't have to again, but if I do need it I would be calling Hook Up Towing for help. read more

I had a flat tire this morning with a tight turnaround to get back on the road for a trip today. I called hook up towing and got a hold of Wes right away. He let me know he would need about a half an hour to 45 minutes, but he would get to me. Very communicative and very friendly when he arrived, on time. My Tow Guy! My car all of a sudden shut off as I was about to turn onto the 67 South. I was stranded. I called a few other towing agencies before I reached out to Wes with Hook Up Towing. They were quoting me $120 just for hook up and $8 per mile. I was looking at spending over $300! Ridiculous. I dialed Hook Up Towing, spoke with Wes, quoted me way less than the others. I didn't wait long for him to arrive. Once he arrived he was professional, helpful (tried to get the car running before tow), and nice attitude. I don't even know where to begin I was stranded in rancho Bernardo getting the "run around" for 3hrs from another towing company. So I wasn't in the best mood and gave me a bad perceptive on tow truck drivers. Then I got fed up and went on Yelp to get another quote. This guy responded to me within a few mins from when I asked for help and gave me the best deal compared to the other tow truck companies. All I can say is I cannot recommend his service enough.
