After having this place bookmarked forever, we finally got to try it on our way up from SD and it did not disappoint! We were able to catch happy hour which goes from 3-5pm in the patio and bar area. Patio was perfect to enjoy the great sunny weather and the live music playing next door. The food: -clam chowder 10/10. You need to order this. So good, even our daughter had it for the first time and loved it! -crab cakes 7/10. Light batter and you can really taste the crab meat. I think the side corn/salad could have a little more zing to really bring out some flavor. -calamari fries 7/10. Light batter, minimally seasoned. Which would be perfect if the tartar sauce was better. I prefer a little more relish but the one here leans a bit more creamy/mayo-y. So everything tasted a bit bland/monotone. -surf and turf 8/10. Steak was so soft and you can taste the smokiness/char on it. Lobster was good. Sides were good. Solid dish! The service was also wonderful! They came by at all the right times to check on us. Not so often to be bothersome and not absent where we'd have to wave someone down for something. We were able to find free street parking in front of the restaurant since we came at an odd hour. Would definitely recommend!

Honestly, a pretty solid meal overall and a decent experience. It's been a little while since we've been to this location. We usually pop in for some fish and chips and the seafood salad. Tonight was a little different. Yes we did get the fish and chips, but then we tried the crabcake with the side salad. I was disappointed to find out that they were out of Pepsi due to some carbonation problem. The crabcakes were OK. I didn't feel that they tasted or had too much crab or crab flavor. They came on top of a green or frisé salad with a a light dressing/vinaigrette. They were OK. I probably would not order those again. The fish and chips are also just OK. This time they were excessively greasy and looked darker than usual almost like the batter was soaking up extra grease. They tasted OK. Service was very friendly but a little slow in general overall from everyone. We love the coastal decor, etc. of course we're gonna come back. I love the seafood salad and the clam chowder. I should've gone ahead and tried the scallop entrée tonight. Next time I will.

My wife and I decided to visit here during happy hour. Their happy hour beers are very reasonable at $5 and I decided to order a Mission Lager. For food, we ordered the ceviche, crab cakes, lobster devilled eggs, and shrimp cocktail. All four dishes were excellent, with very fresh ingredients, and okay-sized happy hour portion sizes with prices to match. Of the four dishes, the ceviche was the best. The fish mixed with diced tomatoes and arugula and served with chips really worked as a dish. Our second favorite dish was the lobster devilled eggs. Those three eggs went down very easily. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a very nice, pleasant buzz to it and the patio, where we sat, was full when we visited. While happy hour prices were reasonable, dinner did look pricey based on my glance at the menu. I would definitely return for happy hour.

Amazing cute little place! I loved coming here. It was delicious. We ate the calamari, poke and lobster deviled eggs so quickly that I could only take a picture of the empty plates. Kaysha and Kim were great. Do come and enjoy the ambiance!

What brought me here was a YT video touting their lobster rolls as being one of the best ever eaten, so of course I had to come and try it out. So, we came by all the way to try out their Happy Hour (3-5pm) as the rest of the group wanted their beer and wine to go with their bites. Located in a small'ish shopping center, parking is limited, but it was raining this day, so there was still a few good parking spots available. The restaurant itself is a nice modern casual, nicely decorated, with a bar, outdoor patio seating with a big screen TV and heat lamps. We chose to sit indoors. We were immediately greeted by a nice and friendly bartender/server who informed us that happy hour diners sit in the bar area....which was fine with us as we found a nice corner bar table. The happy hour menu looked really good as it had everything we all enjoyed.....so, we went ahead and ordered yhr Calamari Fries, Shrimp Cocktail, Crab Cakes, Lobster Deviled Eggs, 3pc Fish & Chips, and a couple of the 6oz (available in 4oz) Lobster Rolls.....along with some wine and beers for everybody else. First off, I must agree with the YT reviewer about the lobster rolls being one of the best ever.....they certainly were! I'd even go with these over the really yummy ones I had in Boston last year! The lobster meat was fresh, plump, and tasted great with a dip of the butter sauce provided. To hold all that precious and yummy lobster meat, the roll was perfectly buttered up, grilled, giving that really nice light crunch on the outside, with a nice and warm fluffy inside......everything worked so well together, which made for this so perfectly delicious lobster roll!....no, this was not on the happy hour menu, but we ordered it anyway. The calamari fries were also excellent.....perfectly fresh, tender, with a nice light crunch on the outside breading....and went great with the kethcup, tartar sauce, and lemon wedge provided. Everything else was very good too, but we did have an issue with the fish and chips being a bit dry for our taste....which was redone and came out excellent the second time round, and the crab cakes were a bit cold upon serving, but everything was absolutely taken care of to our complete satisfaction. We had the opportunity to interact with the chef/owner, manager, and we so happy to see them so absolutely determined on making their guests happy and completely satisfied..... they went way over and beyond our expectations with their great customer service, friendliness, and professionalism. Myself and my group loved our expererience here and are so happy to have found this place......and it wasn't the alcohol talking :).....so much so that we absolutely plan to come back again......very pleasant ambiance, great service, and excellent food.....what else can anyone ask for.

Loved the happy hour at the patio. The atmosphere was full of happy people. The Shrimp Cocktail, Ceviche, Crab Cakes, and Lobster Deviled Eggs were delightful! Portions were just right too. Service was quick.

Amazing quality, really fresh and good food. I love the heirloom tomato salad. The salmon was devoured by our kids! The scallops were perfectly seared. Every dish we have ordered has been terrific. The only negative is the chairs at the tables aren't that comfortable - very hard. They have only a few booths that look padded but we have never gotten seated there and we have gone now 3 x...

Our waitress Tanya is absolutely delightful and I wish I could say the same for my ciopinno but it was lacking so much flavor. The lobster add on for $14 was ridiculously overpriced. Bf loved his chowder and seafood pasta so I'm the odd one out as always haha. Note to all food servers on the planet, please do NOT wear perfume as it affects the senses and changes the taste of food. I would definitely come back for happy hour which is every day from 4-6 pm.

Service was above expectations. They asked us if we wanted to do happy hour at our 12:45 reservation time. We politely opted for lunch indoors and had a good time. Definitely more fun in the evening as this is a bar ambience but nevertheless there are diners there for lobster and more lobster! We will be back for dinner at the bar in the future!

This poor location has had so many restaurant. I'm glad to see Hook an Anchor here and hope that they can make it. The service here is excellent and I love the ambience as well. Very casual, coastal yet still elegant. Our server was excellent, I'm sorry I don't remember his name, but he did a great job. Unfortunately, the food was good, but not particularly memorable. We tried the crabcakes, the lobster roll, and the cioppino with added pasta. None of the items were as flavorful or like I said memorable. It's worth a one time try but that's it.

Finally!!! A super fun beachy new restaurant in Dana point ! We absolutely loved our experience. The decor is a deep nautical theme, which we love. The food is really good . We had the seafood pasta and one of their burgers . I think the best thing of all was their oysters. My favorite are from Virginia so damn good. The tuna tower was yummy . And as an extra bonus because it's right next to Hennessey, you get to hear some of the live music . We sat outside so it was extra special. The service is five star. Dog, friendly, and plenty of parking.

Hook & Anchor has been on my list of restaurants that I wanted to try for months. We came to dinner on a Thursday and this place was busy. We opted to go sit at the bar. Our bartender was friendly and since it was our first time he suggested the clam chowder. I and clam chowder ordered the crab cake, off the appetizer menu. I was really disappointed with both items. My soup was cold and the crab cake was lacking flavor. My husband ordered the seafood pasta, which he enjoyed. Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Food 2/5

Fernando went above and beyond to make sure our experience was 5 star. The rest of the team was always around making sure we had all we needed as well. When the sun set and the breeze got cooler we were offered warm blankets. So back to what we went for, the food right. Tuna tartare was excellent. Guacamole was good but I didn't like the cracker things that came with it and used the chips that came with the tartare instead. Oysters and caesar salad were fresh. Surf & turf tacos were delicious. Crab cake was good, sauce has a little spice to it. The desserts were scrumptious, the churro's were a favorite out of the 4 we had. So fresh and crispy but perfect on the inside, with fresh made caramel and chocolate to dip. My birthday chocolate cake was so good. Our cocktails were well made. There is a Ritz Kids menu and our kids loved all the food they had (Mac n cheese, chicken strips, burger, fries) we liked their fries too lol. We had a short two days at this hotel but I'm so glad I got to experience 180blu.. ended up sneaking in at the last minute on our second night there (Fernando welcomed us as if it was mid shift and we did not feel rushed one bit) for a night cap and to just take in the ambiance and fresh air. Now let's talk about the drinks, because Stacie B absolutely worked magic behind that bar. She made me the most remarkable mule I have ever had in my life, and I truly mean that. It was perfectly balanced, refreshing, memorable, and honestly might be the best cocktail I've ever had. I think about that drink daily and that is not an exaggeration whatsoever. My friend who just moved to laguna Niguel suggested we go there and I fell in love with the food and the people running the bar. super nice and friendly. to be honest with you I hate it that these places close their doors so early. If it was my place I would open up longer because the area needs places that stay open later than other ones. I am not sure when this close early came about but none of my friends like it and I really hate it. It is so Orange County.. so my friend and I only had 45 minutes to get out food eat what we could and leave. the band was ending when we got there probably about 9:15pm. Hardly a sole was there which was just perfect. We sat at the bar ordered our favorite martinis that were excellent (Kettle One only no vermouth) stuffed olives with blue cheese). Excellent and big....and we just thought we would get burgers because they are usually excellent in these kinds of places. We weren't allowed because of timing to order regular dinners. The burger was to die for. One of the best I have ever had and reasonable. We could not finish even our martinis let along the burgers. So, we took them home and walked outside to the lovely patio and took some pix of each other. A guy that worked there came out and he gladly took more pix of us. cannot say they were the best pix I have taken but fun. The prices are not cheap. The drinks are excellent and another time we went for dinner had salmon with pesto and baked spuds and vegies nicely prepared on our plates. But the best thing was the Lobster Bisque. It was absolutely the best I have ever had in my life. I am always searching for the best lobster bisque. Well, I could not wait to go back for that. It is expensive and I recommend splitting that bowl as it is quite large and it is not all that great at home if you take it with you. The music was okay and I cannot say we got into that because that is not why we went there. But it looked like several singles were there looking around the place and dancing. It was fun watching. I love this restaurant now. Just fantastic. If there is one thing that I would like to see improved that is that the music was too loud to have a conversation under. Could have easily turned in down especially in and nice restaurant like that is.

I want to start this review off by saying THANK YOU to Blake, Kelly and all the Craft House staff…read morethat had a hand in our wedding reception!! It was truly such a beautiful night that went off without a hitch. Because of YOU GUYS. Beginning of Planning: My husband and I were on the hunt for the perfect "alternative" space to a traditional wedding venue due to time constraints of planning a wedding in 4 months and also budgetary constraints (not willing to sell our souls for a 40k wedding in South OC). I came across Craft House on Yelp (another beautiful couple held their wedding there) and knew the space would be perfect. I emailed for a week or two with Kelly before deciding to see the space in person. Late November/early December we met with Blake to show us the space. We knew it was the place for us when we were explaining to Blake our overall goal we were trying to accomplish: We wanted to throw a nice dinner and dance party for the people we love the most to celebrate the love we share. And we wanted to do it our way. Blake's response: We can do it all. No constraints. Basically no "rules", do it your way. We immediately put a hold on the space for our wedding date. December-March: Kelly was the perfect person to connect with and kindly answered all the questions that come along with planning a wedding. She was efficient with answering emails and following up with us (I'm type B, I love a follow up). We went to eat at Craft House a few times during these months and we able to figure out what we loved the best on the menu and each experience was fantastic. 10/10 drinks, food, and service. March: We started finalizing all the little details, food and drink menu, decorations, table arrangements, day of timeline. It was easy, efficient and there was a confidence from both Blake and Kelly that made us feel extremely confident and grateful to have our reception at Craft House. Wedding Week/Day of: Blake kindly allowed us to bring a load of decorations the day before the wedding to help the set up efforts on wedding day. We dropped off boxes of candles with a bartender (possibly a manager) the night before and he was extremely sweet and helpful by carrying boxes inside for us. The day of the wedding, our DJ and friend who was helping with set up were able to go in a few hours before. When we walked into the reception for the first time, we were blown away! I was in true awe at the space. It was exactly how we envisioned. The beautiful wood interior and 3/4 walls of windows with plants inside and outside made it feel like we were in a green house. I was met with a drink in my hand immediately from the bartenders and I was never without a drink (they would find me every time my drink was empty and give me a new one... THAT'S TOP TIER SERVICE). We ate, we drank and we partied with the people we love the most, exactly how we wanted. Things you should know: Particulars- We had about 90 guests, 4 vendor meals and had the private space from 12 PM (set up time) to 10:30PM. Price- THE BEST DEAL YOU CAN GET. Rental for the space, food and open bar(!!!) all bundled into a great price. Best bang for your buck. Price included gratuity and a small percentage for service fee. UNBEATABLE. Service- As someone who worked in the restaurant industry for many years (and close friends who are bartenders and servers)... we all agreed that the service was top tier. One of the biggest stand outs for me was the smiles on all of their faces during our reception. There is nothing better than seeing employees genuinely smile while they are working. It really makes the whole atmosphere a million times better. Some videos that we got at the end of the night, you can see the bartenders dancing while serving guests, it made my heart happy to know that there was some enjoyment while working their butts off for us. Thank you all so much!! We enjoyed ourselves and so did all of our guests. The next day people were stunned that we had been at a restaurant and not a wedding venue. This review is well deserved. *Pictures to come!
