On I-44....this place has been around a good long while. The place has a yester-year truck stop look....and is very clean. Now, let me say...put this in the class of truck stops for a dining experience....the food is pretty good...and a great value for the money! I have to start with that ham slice. Gosh dang, was it big! They said a pound....but I think it was over 1 1/2 lbs. a good piece of ham, that wasn't all salty. The soup and chili. Hey...these came off the salad bar...and I think they had a 3rd soup to choose from. All pretty good! The biscuit and gravy. (Not) the best I've ever had...but it's a solid performer nonetheless. The gravy on the mashed potatoes...uhm...not so much. But everything else coming out of kitchen....pretty good folks....again...for a truck stop! read more

We stopped on our way home from Oklahoma. My dad "Friday" God rest his soul was a trucker and loved Hoods. He stopped there any chance he had. So I naturally stopped there for him. Well, the service was terrible that day. Two waitresses worked the extremely large floor not helping one another. It took ten minutes to place our order. We ordered a club sandwich and bacon eggs hashbrowns biscuit and gravy. Food sat in the window the entire time we were there. My biscuit and gravy sat there at least 15 minutes cooling. The club sandwich was dropped onto the floor as the waitress overloaded her arms. My gravy was so cold I almost returned it but was so hungry I just ate it. It was a disaster. Another man was very angry with the service also. He almost walked out right before his food was done. There were flies inside every where you had to fight. The place smelled like an old flea market. There were too many cooks and not enough waitresses. I would not recommend this place. Sorry dad but I won't be stopping there to eat anymore !! read more

Stop at this restaurant on the way to Branson. The food was not very good. I had the fish and chips with coleslaw. Coleslaw was the worst I ever tasted. Fish was edible but only two small pieces. For some reason I couldn't even cut it with a fork. Hush puppies were not good. Maybe if I had butter they would be a little better. My sister ordered the chopped steak dinner and they gave her the chicken fried steak dinner instead. She decided to eat it anyway, but left most on her plate. No flavor. Very disappointing in a place that looked like it would be a good family diner. Fried mushrooms were good. That's it. read more

There onion rings was not cocked there burgers where pink inside when I ask for well done just not good at all

Fantastic BBQ ribs!!! Best service. Great atmosphere. Clean restaurant and clean restrooms.

Great food!! Amazing breakfast!! One of the best omelets I've had! Clean restrooms, and friendly staff

Probably the worst food that I've had in around 2 years...The burger was not cooked all the way but yet dry....It was as if it was cooked about a week ago, put in the fridge, and then taken out and reheated...The bacon which wrapped the burger was still raw....it was disgusting.....The potatoes were dry and seemed old...I couldn't even finish my food and left hungry....Place seemed clean and friendly waitress. read more

We had fish sandwich and tater tots, club sandwich with salad bar and both had water. We enjoyed it. Very fast- really wasn't expecting it to be that quick. Both sandwiches were very good portions and lots of meat. A little higher than expecting since yelp has it rated with 1 $, but that isn't their fault. $29.63 for 2 with water as drinks. read more

$45 for a short stack of pancakes with 2 pieces of stale bacon, 2 hamburgers slightly larger than a slider with about a dozen French fries on each plate. Fries were cold and limp. Recommend you go somewhere else if you can. Waiter was slow and inattentive. We had to go to the servers station to ask for more to drink as he never came back to the table. Management changes frequently here and it seems to get worse and worse. read more

I had a burger and fries. It was well done and the lettuce, tomato, pickle and purple onion (my favorite) were all fresh. The bun was toasted perfectly. Crinkle Fries were cooked perfect also. The waitress was sweet! I had water and lemon tasted funny, but that is probably local water so im ok with that. On the way out, I grabbed a pudding to take with me. The pudding was really good also!!! read more

10/10 definitely coming back! Great service it is definitely a family restaurant I know because on of the owners kid was my server and the other say me and got me my drink the both where very sweet. The food was amazing and didn't take long at all. The place it self is just like I imagined I can't wait to go here more often!! Ambiance was amazing as well read more

The food was nasty and a hair was found in my husbands omelet. When leaving, I went to the restroom and what I seen was the most disgusting bathrooms I have ever seen. Worse than any gas station ever. Actual feces on the stall walls. So filthy that nobody should ever eat here. Service was not the best either! Would not recommend to anyone! read more

Waited 15 min to get a Menu. Waited 30 more to get food. It had evidently been waiting to since it was all Cold. Waitresses Microwaved it to warm It up. Had Scrambled Eggs on Order. Nice Nasty Microwaved scrambled eggs. Menu said ham. I ordered Ham. Got a piece of Generic Bologna that had been flipped on Griddle. Biscuits an Gravy was Cold. Back to the Microwave it went. I see good reviews on Hoods. Might have been the Crew Working? After leaving and then talking with owner they are taking steps in the Direction of Improving (editing) the staff to correct the situation. I am not the only one who had issues today. I will be trying them again read more

Honestly one of the worst meals I've ever tried to eat! Tried to but, just couldn't do it! Over easy eggs were over hard and burnt. Hash browns ordered crispy were almost raw! Bacon was like leather and the toast was made from bread that had sat out to dry! Please eat anywhere else or plan on disappointment before you sit down. The little girl that was my waitress didn't know what to say when she asked how everything was when I told her some people just shouldn't try to cook! read more

I love this place! My third visit in last 5 months I just had the best cheeseburger I have had in years!!! If you drive a truck you have to stay here If you don't drive a truck they have a motel here come for dinner stay for breakfast! read more

$14.71for a raw cheeseburger and fries that tasted like fish! NEVER AGAIN!!! I can believe how fast this place has been run into the ground!

Friendly service and an awesome salad bar! I'll definitely stop in again. Reminds me of the down home truck stop restaurants I grew up in!

True that it doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside is nothing special, but clean and spacious. Staff was friendly. The real surprise was the food. I had the tenderloin sandwich and the wife had a patty melt ordered medium rare. The food was excellent! Large portions at very reasonable prices. Sides of okra and fries were great too. We will definitely be back! Great food at a great price! read more

We came in to eat breakfast and encountered the worst and slowest service ever. Food took at least half an hour, and the waitress was unresponsive, snotty, and slow. She never once came by to ask how our food was, nor did she bother to refill our coffee cups. I personally went to the coffee station three times to ask for refills. Finally took the cups up to the coffee station myself, and when I complained to the waitress, she became very disrespectful and defensive. if we ever come by here again, will make sure to pass on Hoods family restaurant. read more

Well if you want overpriced frozen food and uninformed and uninspired staff than come on in. This place obviously is struggling. Could not bring myself to order so I can only say if I want a frozen country fried steak for $13 I'll just go to Cracker Barrel. At least the biscuits are basically homemade and delicious. $12 for a half pound hamburger steak? I'm good. Wound up getting a microwave cheeseburger next door. $3.50 and it was quite tasty! Almost like meatloaf. FYI.... Nobody was wearing masks or gloves. Run!! read more

I have ate here before and enjoyed my visit. But i drove clear out of my way last night to go there with great disappointment. Several things were wrong on order. Asked for straws finally had to get them myself. Hashbrowns were not done. Didnt send bacon, didnt send toast. Had to ask for that. The only good thing is they still have smoking sections. read more

Good spot to stop by if on the road I recommend the Denver omelet, a much better choice then McDonald's breakfast.

If you want to meet an awesome waitress with a kind, positive attitude, this is the place. Her name is Patty and she loves people. We stopped here for the night in our truck. We went in for a late supper and I decided it was scrambled eggs & bacon for me with pancakes. Well, the pancakes were hot, fresh, huge & delicious. The bacon was very flavorful & crisp; just the way I like it! The scrambled eggs were good. The hubby had the chopped steak & it was a fresh patty, not frozen. The green beans were canned but good & the mashed potatoes were fresh. After we ate, hubby told her it was my birthday; which was true, and we asked about desserts. She went to check on desserts & came back with a scratch off ticket that she gave me! We ordered chocolate pie for me & peach cobbler with ice cream for hubby. When she brought them out, she told us they were on her! She even brought a bowl of ice cream with chocolate syrup on it for me! They were homemade fresh desserts and they were delicious! She's super, the food is really good, y'all get in there!! read more

We stopped here because the parking lot was packed with cars and trucks. Glad we did. I had a very good Patty Melt, (recommend it) my husband had the Wild Hog Skillet, which consisted of eggs, very tasty potatoes, bacon, ham and sausage. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it took awhile to get our food, probably because they were so busy. read more

I stopped there yesterday to pick up two pies for a family gathering as usual they were amazing. Don't bother. Horrible, horrible service. Terribly expensive. Two burger with fries meals are now about $35. Breakfast (2 omelets w/hashbrowns) was $35. This is truck stop people. Well I saw some good reviews about this place on other apps, so I decided to give it a try. For the most part, the prices are pretty reasonable and portion sizes are nice. However, most of the stuff that's a la carte is a little on the pricier side. They have a salad bar, but it's small and overpriced as well, unless you add it to a meal. I ordered the southwestern chicken dinner with a side salad. The salad was decent, besides some of the lettuce being a little soggy. The chicken, however, was awful. They gave me a sharp steak knife and it barely cut through it. It was so thin and overcooked, it was like eating jerky. I told the waitress and at first she said there was nothing she could do since I ate half of it, but I told her I only took two bites, and that was obvious from looking at it. She then was nice enough to take the chicken off the bill, but that's it. No apology, and when I said I was sorry for all the trouble, she just sneered at me and walked away. I mean, I know it's not her fault it was overcooked, but be a little more pleasant and respect your customers. read more

I have a 2 just because of the friendly service. If you watch a show or movie based in a small town this would be a good setting, and that's not a bash. However, literally everything was dirty, not just hasn't been wiped down but everything from the door handle to the baby booster seat had a thick grime to it. I had to hold the baby the whole meal. read more

I love this place: free wi-fi and homecooked yummy food. The caliber of the meal depends on when you go and who is cooking at the time, but overall my meals have been great. The grilled ham and cheese is around $5.00 and delicious, as are the wings and burgers. A fun little place right off the highway, they're open 24 hours a day. Two meals, two drinks and wings usually runs about $20.00. read more
