Today I got to try there plate lunch with 2 entrees for $14.95 and they do give a lot. I ate enough for my lunch and saved the rest for my dinner. Also, the service was very helpful and friendly.

Mini manapuas are good. My fave is the fried pizza flavor. My previous favorite flavor was the fried crab but they started to skimp on the crab and add more chunks of onion. I ordered and paid for 34 mini manapuas total today. Uncle said he gave me 2 complimentary vegetable half moons, which I was thankful for. However, upon opening the box when I got home, I was only given 31 manapuas. I was missing 1 pork kalbi and 2 streamed spinach flavor. It's too bad they don't show you your order before they close the box so I could quickly count. You just have to trust that your entire order was prepared correctly.

This place is awesome to grab some manapua for breakfast. Fair warning, be prepared for Hawaii time here, but it was worth it. We arrived a little before Honolulu Kitchen opened (at least based on what Google said the hours were). Even then, it was really another 10-15 minutes before they actually opened and started taking orders from the queue that was already forming. You can tell from the people in the queue that this is a popular local spot. For our breakfast we got an assortment of sweet and savory manapua, mostly all steamed because that was faster than the fried one. If you have time, definitely try them fried too. Each one has a symbol marking on it, so make sure to snap a photo of the symbol key displayed by the register so you know what's what. My favorites were definitely the BBQ pork and the ube flavors!

My husband picked up a couple of fried manapuas for lunch :3 These are my absolute favorite to eat from Honolulu Kitchen!

I remember finding out about this place on instagram when someone tagged them in Marvel manapuas. Yeah, I know right? What is a marvel manapua you may ask? Basically a manapua with marvel characters drawn on them! I don't know what they use or what they do but I recommend you go and see them for yourself! Now, I don't know if they're still doing that because that was 2020, but ever since I found them and their assortment of manapua flavors I've been hooked! This is my go-to westside grinds place for something small, simple, great price, and captures the essence of Hawaii. If you are from the mainland, or even local this place will not disappoint you. You come for the food, but come back for the people and feeling of Aloha. If you allow me, I wanna spend some time talking about the people behind the counter. Every time I walk through the door I feel like I'm walking in to a family kitchen and they treat their customers like family. They actually used to take the leftover food and give it to the homeless, but since the beginning of 2023, I believe, due to the negative atmosphere they had to stop. But while I was there a 16 year old walked in and uncle asked if he ate, I guess uncle already knows his story, and gave him a bento and one for his sibling or mom too. That right there, shows the character, aloha, and love that goes in to the food and that's probably why it tastes so great! My husband knows if this place ever closes, I will devastated and we will be spending a lot of money till the last day attempting to keep this place open. So please, support this small business, because I truly believe THEY DESERVE to be open! I hope and pray this place withstands the generations and you visit it too and see why. Don't forget to always #supportlocalHI

The husband found Honolulu Kitchen via Yelp and we decided to check it out for a late lunch; we're so glad we did! The owner, Steve is one of the nicest people we've met on the island. He was generous enough to provided us with several samples before ordering. Additionally, if you come after 3PM, their bento boxes are bogo! Best of all, Steve feeds the homeless after they close and I believe he also provides job opportunities at the restaurant. The husband and I ended up getting bento boxes, as well as their famous fried manapuas. We ordered their charsiu, pastele, pork adobo, and honey garlic chicken. Steve was kind to include a lilikoi and ube, which were great! All in all, so happy to have found Honolulu Kitchen and will be back next time we are visiting!

Super helpful staff! Went to grab our flooring guys some lunch today. Honolulu Kitchen was the pick and I'm so glad I asked them what they wanted because I would've never seen the size of a mini plate (I don't ever get once choice minis lol). Their pick: 3x minis Half fried rice, half chow mein, roast pork w/gravy Holy moly! This plate was loaded and it looked and smelt amazing. At 11am, the hot line was just beginning to get stocked with all the 1-3 choice plate offerings. What the guys wanted wasn't ready yet, but the staff was eager to get it prepared to send me off on my way. Very much appreciated! Thanks Honolulu Kitchen!

I went here 7 years ago and I loved it. I STILL DO. They give you such massive portions for a deal. The food is phenomenal. The steamed and fried manapuas, sweet or savory, are to die for. The staff are the sweetest humans I've ever met! They're honest and up front and very modest about their food. It's delicious - no lie. They let you try everything. I can't say enough good things. The atmosphere may put you off at first, being that it's in a very low key shopping center, but it's well worth it if you give them a chance!

OPENS AT 7AM not 630AM. Pulled up around 645AM like I've done before to see that the open sign is off. Went to the door to find that they don't put up their hours of operation. Opened the door and the front worker kindly informed me that they open at 7AM. I hope that the change in time did not affect the quality of their food because I remember it being so good.

Haven't been here in awhile. Couldn't decide so pickled up a little of everything. Got a 2 choice plate with pork adobo, tofu eggplant stir fry, fried rice & chow mien, large fried chicken bento, baked char sui manapuas & gau gee. Packed plates, ono food, awesome prices and service.

Two $7 Bentos, BUT it was a buy 1 get 1 free

Honolulu Kitchen is my first choice if I want a lot of food for a reasonable price. To get a better perspective, a take out plate with 3 choices can feed 3 people. It's that much. Unko Steve is the owner of Honolulu Kitchen and his passion for food mixed in with his art skills. He can design work of art by hand and put it on all of his baked or steamed manapua. His tanlent has no limits. Great service, friendly staff, and a welcoming feeling when you step into his restaurant. There's special deals after 2pm! Size portions are awesome! Had enough for lunch the next day!

This place will, in my opinion, give you the best bang-for-your-buck. Now, I like to think I can put away a meal, but I ordered a mix-plate lunch here and I still had enough for lunch the next day, like about a third left! I tell you, aunty will stack your plate one-good one! That and this plate lunch was less than $10! It's a great deal and well-worth journeying to Honolulu Kitchen when you're trying to satisfy your craving for a filling, sweet, salty, savory meal. The place itself has a quaint hole-in-the-wall ambiance; I feel very comfortable walking in here and the staff gives me wholesome family vibes. Anyway, this is definitely the kind of place construction guys gotta go for get their fill during lunch time, garanz. Well, anybody really. Just gotta be careful, cuz I guarantee you go KO when you pau eating. Lol. Regretfully, haven't tried their popular manapua yet, which is all the more reason I plan to come back and keep coming back.

I wasn't sure if I should give this 3 or 4 stars, but I decided on the 4 due to the exceptional service by the male owner at the end. They're located on Farrington Hwy in Waipahu in an unassuming strip mall area. Plenty of parking is available in the shared lot. I came here to try their mini manapua. With all of their positive reviews, I thought "what could go wrong"? I'm used to eating baked savory manapua's, so I was looking forward to trying the fried sweet ones. I only wanted to try 2 flavors - the lilikoi and the ube, which they were unfortunately sold out of, so I ordered the guava and haupia. The lady told me it would only take a few minutes. 15 minutes later, I had to ask another employee (a male, who I assumed was the owner) what the status was, as the lady was busy helping other customers and seemed to have forgotten about me. He went in the kitchen and a few minutes later, he came out with a haupia and a lilikoi (I thought they were sold out of that flavor?) Not sure what happened to my guava one. The man felt bad so he gave me a savory mini pork manapua, a hot dog musubi and a pork hash, which was very kind of him. One bite of the fried manapua's reminded me of why they have such positive reviews. The mini fried manapua's are really quite tasty! The fillings taste exactly like the flavors. They sell other Chinese / Asian food buffet items and prepared bentos at very reasonable prices. There are only a couple of places to sit inside, so most people get their food to go. I'd probably return to try some other flavors but hopefully next time the wait won't be too long.

My receipt showing that I paid for my rice cakes and don't get it.

Went to Honolulu Kitchen today and I was very disappointed. 1. So unorganized taking Manapua orders at the counter. 2. The wait was long because items were not ready (waited about 15-20 minutes). 3. The lady forgot my 2 rice cakes, $2.95 each‍. 4. The shrimp dumplings were all mostly wrapper. The only time I'm going back is to get my 2 rice cakes that they forgot to include with my order.

The interior is clean and spacious with plenty of seating. We arrived just before 5pm and seated immediately; afterwards the restaurant quickly began to fill up for the dinner rush. The AYCE food selection is comparable to Shabuya. They have a buffet bar with a good selection of fresh vegetables, seafood, noodles and sauces. The AYCE menu does not include appetizers, but they are available for extra charge. One thing that stood out was their flavorful broth selection. My husband ordered shabuzen flavored oil (onion oil) in his broth and I snuck a taste, it was delicious. You can also get sake in your broth for an additional $3. Might have to order that next time.

Parking was easy and they had lots of tables available. They said they get busy during peak hours and recommend reservations. The waiters are friendly and the music was 80/90s music. Everything tasted as expected which is what we wanted. The Shanghai Lumpia was crunchy and sweet with the dipping sauce. The Adobo Fried Rice Omelet with Lechon Kawali was a table favorite. Omelet was fluffy soft and the Lechon melted in their mouth but not chewy. Oxtail Soup was flavorful and the oxtail was fall off the bone tender. The Sizzling Pork Sisig was served on a sizzling platter and the spices all mixed well together while cooking the raw egg. The Loco Moco was large and flavorful with the meat holding together and cooked to our requested temperature. Overall prices were reasonable, portions were big, and we were all able to share food. We ended the amazing dinner with fried Ube ice cream!

We stopped by for an early dinner after grocery shopping at Seafood City. Since the weather looked a bit gray, we decided to drive over. Even though the lot was busy, there were plenty of open spots near Hou since it's toward the end of the plaza. It's been a while since I've been to this area--it has cleaned up nicely now that Highway Inn is gone. Inside, the restaurant is clean, well-lit, and the staff is very friendly. We ordered the Shrimp Tempura Udon and the California + Spicy Tuna + Crab Salad roll combo. No regrets! The miso-based broth in the udon was delicious, and I appreciated that the shrimp tempura came on the side to stay crispy. My personal favorite, however, was the spicy tuna on top of the cone sushi--it paired perfectly with the udon. The prices are great, and I was happy to learn they have a second location on Kapiolani. It's a great addition to the West Side and clearly popular with the local crowd. I'll definitely be back!

With getting overly into detail, she also seemed like she didn't want to serve me even though the store was empty. I gave it another try today and the other guys working there were very friendly, fast and offered options. Their food was seasoned well both times and so fresh.
