This place is so cute and unique. It has a Hawaiian theme, so everything from the decor to the food has a tropical vibe. The first time I came here I got a Chai Latte which was extremely strong. I had a get them to add additional milk and water to tone it down. However, the next time I came here I got a latte and the Aloha Acai Bowl. Both were so good! I also love that this place has a ton of seating! So you can usually find a seat even when its really busy. Definitely a nice spot to hang out in Kerrisdale! read more

This place has a nice location. Many shops along W41st street. It's a busy intersection with pay parking but has some free parkings within the neighborhood if you are willing to walk a bit. The store is clean, plenty of seats and tables. Place is bright due to glass windows all around. The music is a bit loud for my liking. They have younger crowds, mostly students with their laptops. Coffee is alright. They have the usual cold and hot coffee based drinks and smoothies. It's nice to hang around here. Its my second time here. read more

This place has become my most favourite coffee shop in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood. Over the past year I have been here for so many times and I made some good friends here enjoyed a lot of good time here. All the staff members are so nice, smart & pretty and sincere. Their authentic smiles always make my day. Their Kona beans make their coffee outstanding and always my fave. Unlike some coffee shop that serve coffee taste like Chinese herbal medicine (very bitter), Honolulu Coffee is the coffee you can ask for encore and come back everyday. It is good to mention their breakfast croissant sandwich is delicious and definitely worth trying. There was fire incident nearby the building that caused power disruption for more than a month but now they can resume the business in the same location with the renewed ambience. The vibe at Honolulu is chill except for the people with their laptops who take a whole table and sit there for hours. The coffee itself is good. The baked items & food are a bit over priced i have to say. I wanted to try the paint your hot chocolate item but there was nowhere to sit.The location is ideal but parking is not very convenient as it gets busy mid day and weekends. If you're not in a rush and have all the time in the world then this is an OK cafe to go to in the area. read more

OK... sometimes you wake up and you just can't get moving. You roll over and hit the alarm clock a few times, and even times when it doesn't go off - just because!!! LOL! That's when I need coffee and a power bowl - yeah .. you heard me. A power bowl or something. I know, you would think you would never hear me say something healthy!!! When hanging out on the west coast with tree hugging, grass eating, hiking obsesses aliens out in BC, you need someway to energize. I was surprised to find this cool cafe. It was hopping busy for a weekend morning - kind of expected. Tables were cleared relatively quick and its first come first serve for the tables. So... I just walked up to a large communal table, struck up a convo with some peeps - annoyed them until they leave! No... I didn't but I'm sure a bunch of you thought I did!!! LOL!!! Coffee here is good. Nuff said on that. This place is basically your standard Starbucks-type place with some good for you foods - not like those prepacked and yucky mermaid coffee foods. If you like bowls with açai and other fun with phonetics food, some sort of wheatee germs, food I can't quite pronounce, and high protein low carb grass growths, you came to the right place. Though I make it sound like you're eating food that you feed livestock, it's not that. It actually tastes great and is good for you - especially when the night before was full of things that you should not eat late at night, and drink in high quality. Yikes. What an oasis on a cloudy day in late winter. This coffee shop is beautifully decorated and brought me back to Hawaii. Love the airy and beachy theme throughout the cafe.. even provided aesthetically pleasing lounge areas. This place is comparable to Island Vintage from Hawaii (IYKYK lol). Very similar flavors and offers smoothies & acai bowls as well. I ordered a fruit smoothie along with the lilikoi mango croissant. Oh man.. the croissant was filled with lilikoi (passionfruit) cream and croissant was perfectly flaky. Highly recommend! The smoothie was delicious and tasted fresh. Really like the aesthetics of the cafe, and staff are friendly. Meter paid parking at the back and along the side streets. I tried their two limited edition Christmas drinks (available until Jan 14, 2023 only): Coconut Latte: on the milky/creamy side. Pretty cool that there are large shreds of toasted coconut on top and inside the drink, so there's some texture and chew. Honestly, the coffee flavour wasn't very strong, maybe only 1 shot espresso? Great for people that like a fun drink without too much coffee/caffeine, but for me personally, it was a bit too light. Coconut Matcha Latte: also on the milky side with only a light matcha flavour. Really like the presentation, and the whipped cream and pink sprinkles on top. I would not recommend the matcha cookie, it was quite dry and doughy. Comes with raisins or craisins inside. The hazelnut-filled brioche bun was pretty good though, it's very soft and the hazelnut filling wasn't too sweet. read more

I'd been wanting to come here since the very beginning of the Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival. Just couldn't resist the "Raincouver" hot chocolate with the cloud of Cotton Candy that I'd been seeing all over social media and I knew it was something our daughter would enjoy. So...we finally made it out to Honolulu Coffee for the "Raincouver" hot chocolate. While we were at it, we decided to also order "The Donut" which is the other flavor of hot chocolate that Honolulu Coffee is offering for the hot chocolate festival.  The donut which accompanied "The Donut" hot chocolate was delicious. We enjoyed it almost as much as we enjoyed the cotton candy. We enjoyed the cotton candy more...but only because it was funner. In terms of tastiness, the two treats were about neck and neck. Both hot chocolates were good but the Raincouver was our favourite, and not just because of the Instagram worthy cloud of cotton candy that was suspended over the drink. The Donut hot chocolate had a shot of espresso in it. This made the drink taste more like a coffee beverage than a hot chocolate beverage. We enjoyed it; however, we preferred the Raincouver hot chocolate which had more of a traditional hot chocolate taste to it.  I was overjoyed when I saw a sign in the shop that said they accept clean, reusable cups! Really hoping to see more of this moving forward as I'm very much an advocate for eco-friendly options. I'm a fan of their Hawaiian Latte, it fits my sweet tooth needs and has a coconutty flavor I like. I must remember their iced version is much better for some reason though. Stamp card available if you become addicted to their lattes like me and want to be a bit economical. They also serve pastries and sandwiches. They are quite pricey but taste just OK. If you've been to Hawaii and visited any Honolulu Coffee Company and expect this location to be the same you will be disappointed. Aside from the name there are few similarities. There has been some effort to carry the decor and branding, but the food and beverage are not even close. This was our second visit, similar experience this time around. Counter staff was so so, did the basics but seemed generally uninterested. Coffee was 2 out of 5, no crema or rich flavour. Condiments lacking cocoa or cinnamon, service station otherwise was ok. Despite plenty of staff behind counter, tables needed cleaning along with the floor. A lot of students on laptops, not a lot of available tables for other patrons. Food offerings were quite unappealing, the banana bread was soggy and day old. I would recommend walking west to cafe artigiano if you want a quality coffee and a little more variety in the sweet offerings. read more

Always wanted to try this chain. Finally the opportunity popped up. Parking is available on the side streets. The inside is pretty clean and modern looking. The tables are a bit on the small side, but I'm sure this is intentional for discouraging laptop use. There are little signs on the tables too. Coffee here is definitely on the pricey side. My (coconut flavoured) Hawaiian latte was $6(!) for a medium. Never thought I'd see a coffee drink more expensive than a Starbucks Frappuccino, but here we are. To be fair, it was a pretty decent coffee. But my wallet sure hurt after the hit. According to the internets, this chain sources their own coffee from their own farm. Not sure how true this is exactly as my understanding is that the coffee growers in that part of the world are more like a bunch of independent growers with some sort of business association taking care of affairs. I am usually not a fan of coconut milk in my hot beverage but I am in love with the Hawaiian latte. It is slightly sweet with a hint of coconut taste. Yelper J in Hawaii saw my pictures and said that is coconut coffee in Hawaii itself. It never occurred to me this is actually a chain from the big island till then. I have yet to try any of the food. Not a fan of açaí bowls and I was not hungry every time I popped in for the sandwich. The pastries or sweets selection seemed limited whenever I was there. Maybe next time. For now I am very happy with the Hawaiian latte. I saw the staff prepare the whipped cream. I never knew it was made in house. Milk with syrup in the metal container. I came here with a friend today and ordered both a hawaiian latte as well as their seasonal pumpkin spice latte (decaf, half sweet and non fat) for a late afternoon coffee meet up. My friend really enjoyed their hawaiian latte but I thought the pumpkin spice latte had more nutmeg flavour than anything else. I really liked how they were able to customize and I don't know if the muted flavour was due to my decaf coffee but there was nothing that stood out for me. I was also disappointed in the lack of latte art in my cup but my friend's latte was beautiful! The space is gorgeous and the baristas are very kind though so it is a pleasant atmosphere! Overall, it was quite an expensive cup of coffee with a disappointing taste and visual appeal but maybe trying their REAL coffee one day will change my mind! read more

The açai bowl had açai berries blended with blueberries, banana and strawberries as the base with granola, hemp seeds and lots of fruits including passion fruit as the toppings. For the açai bowl, I feel like the taste and texture of the granola did overpower the rest of the bowl. This combination overall was delicious but not very refreshing if you are looking for something light, as both had a fairly thick consistency. If you are looking for a quick summer meal that is also a treat, this combination would be perfect for you. Wouldn't be the cheapest meal but lots of fruits! @honolulucoffeeyvr ft Waikiki sunset (cold-brewed blue Jasmine green tea, pineapple purée, orange juice) If you feel like you are one of the few people who are unable to visit Hawaii this year, you aren't alone. Luckily there's @honolulucoffeeyvr with their beautiful drinks! Look at the layers! This drink reminded me of the purple or blue freezies we had growing up. I would say their smoothies may taste a little more flavourful and less chemical than this though. The only thing I would say about this place was that it wasn't very very clean. Was coerced into going to Honolulu one day recently. I normally don't get coffee out due to the fact that its usually dreadfully overpriced, and I always prefer the coffee (Kicking Horse) I make at home. I have yet to find a coffee out anywhere that matches it, so I just prefer to have coffee at home. Went with some family members partly as a place to meet up. If I'd been alone when walking in I would have walked right back out again. It was crowded, noisy and the air was very stuffy. They really need to open some windows or the door to get some air circulation happening. There was a loud conversation din filling the space and there was nothing inviting about it at all. I don't know how people can sit in a noisy, stuffy place, surrounded by strangers, and find it pleasing. Big "NO" from me! I had a drip coffee for about $3 and it was ok. It was better than a lot of other places I've been, but it was nowhere near as good as my home coffee. Granddaughter had hot chocolate, which she seemed to enjoy, although she waited 10-15 minutes for it to be ready. I was pretty much finished my coffee (want to drink it at least reasonably warm) when she FINALLY got her drink. Can't recall what the third person had. Honolulu is nicely decorated with "island" flourishes, but the noise and lack of air mean I won't go back. read more

This is a beautiful coffee shop with lots of unique options for food and drink. They have a specialty Hawaiian latte and there's always an interesting seasonal drink available. They do a great matcha latte too. Food and baked goods similarly incorporate Hawaiian flavours into classic coffee shop fare. The Caprese sandwich I had here was really good (the cheese/tomato filling was great, but for some reason the bread itself was particularly enjoyable to me), which is the only lunch item I've tried from this location, but I've enjoyed the quiche at the Nelson location also. I've loved all of the baked goods I've tried, everything is very flavourful and portions are generous. I think the prices on the food are in line with what you'd expect for a coffee shop but drinks are a little pricier than average. Obviously indoor seating is currently closed (they have two outside tables which are still open), but during normal times, this is more of a place to hang out and eat or chat, not really a place for working. A cafe that serves up delicious breakfast, baked goods, and coffee? It's no wonder that Honoluly Coffee has quickly jumped into my top 5 cafes in the city. I've previously only been to their location downtown, but I was in Kerrisdale for a meeting and popped into this location for a quick pick me up. This space is large with plenty of tables, chairs, and windows to let in that natural lighting (cough cough, great for insta photos, just saying). The decor is bright and tropical, tying into the Hawaiian theme. They are a little bit pricier than other coffee shops, but whatever, everything is expensive nowadays and I'm willing to pay for good quality coffee. Everytime I've come in, the staff have been super helpful and friendly. They're also very knowledgeable about all their products. Food wise, I've gotten the croissants, breakfast sandwiches, and the acai bowl - all of which I loved. For coffee, I've gotten their Kona drip and their specialty Hawaiian latte - which is basically similar to a macadamia nut latte - it's delicious! I could drink 10 cups of this in one sitting, but I won't because I'd probably have a heart attack. Just saying, they're that good. They also have delicious smoothies, which I've gotten a few times when I wasn't feeling a cup o' joe (I know, I know, rare and unheard of...). I had forgotten to post a review when I came here the first time but my impression of the cafe is still the same from last summer. The reason why I'd come here for coffee is because I had tried the actual cafe in honolulu and had a great impression from that experience. This cafe, conveniently located in Kerrisdale, did not live up to the expectations I had in mind. The interior didn't give off a vibrant feeling and the servers weren't very friendly. My friend and I ordered two almond croissants, one drip and one latte. My latte was too milky in taste (I hate it when this happens as I'm not a fan of the milk taste). I recalled my exact same latte in honolulu was stronger on the espresso side. The almond croissants were mediocre. I found them to be a bit on the dry side. With that said, it is still a cozy little place for chatting with friends, doing your work or people watching. read more

I stopped by here to get a little work done in my pen-and-paper notebook, knowing that I've enjoyed Honolulu's other location. I was not expecting to have what is perhaps the best coffee shop cookie I've found so far in Vancouver. I'm talking about their salted toffee chocolate cookie - richly flavoured, not too sweet, excellently chewy. The salt, toffee, and chocolate felt perfectly balanced, and it was so good I did the bad thing and bought a second one an hour later. Their mochas are also good, well-balanced between coffee and cacao. Staff are great and the space is relatively comfortable - not a place you'd want to work on a laptop, as most tables have no-laptop signs (a few do allow it), but good for chatting or reading a book or sketching. Came by Saturday late morning for a smoothie but ended up getting the acai bowl. I really enjoyed it! It was smooth and packed with flavour. Lots of granola that isn't sugary and with a full banana. For $8, I think that's pretty good value. I already had a coffee earlier so I didn't get their coffee but I always love their kona coffee. Plenty of space to sit. They have wifi if you want to study or work. The washroom is through a hallway. Ask the staff for the punch code. The one room washroom is very spacious and well maintained. read more

Honolulu Coffee opened their first shop in Canada on Nelson St downtown. Now, they have opened other locations at Kerrisdale & Broadway. I was too lazy to drive all the way to downtown for a good cup of coffee. Finally, I made it to Kerrisdale. My hubby ordered Kona coffee, it was creamy, smooth, clean, sweet and medium-bodied. I had Hawaiian latte that subtle taste of the coconut and macadamia in the latte. The service was great and the staff offered to heat up pastry. Pineapple coconut croissant just ok but the chocolate croissant really disappointed. Good coffee but not pastry then can't make me return. read more

I came on a rainy cold day and as soon as I stepped foot in here, it was like I traveled back to Oahu! The ambiance and smell of roasted coffee with macadamia was delightful. Staff were courteous and made suggestions on their most ordered drinks. I ended up ordering the Hawaiian latte which is a regular latte but flavored with coconut and macadamia nut syrup. My boyfriend and I are regular customers of Honolulu coffee in the Kerrisdale location and we were always treated kindly by the staff and service has always been amazing. Today we dropped by to get our regular orders, a hawaiian latte for me and a hawaiian kona frost for my boyfriend. On our way back to the car, my boyfriend accidentally dropped his cup on the street having only a few sips of his coffee drink. We were both in a hurry to go home and to get ready for work so I gave the kerrisdale location a call to tell them what happened and if they can accommodate a free drink for him. The girl on the other line happily said yes and she took my name and number for reference. I called my boyfriend to tell him to drop by kerrisdale again for his free drink as we parted ways already. When he got there, he was treated by the front lady with disrespect and sent him away without his free coffee drink. According to the lady, they did not receive a call from anyone and would not accommodate his request. He was very furious as he had to drive all the way back there from our place for nothing. Unfortunately I did not bother to get the girl's name that I spoke to on the phone as I expected more from them. We were never treated like this before and we are both very disappointed with the service we received today. We hope that you would address this problem immediately. We love your coffee but if this is the kind of treatment we would get from this location then there is not point coming back to this location. read more

Ooooooooh! That is some FINE coffee. I had the 100% Kona hand dripped coffee. It was served in a clear carafes on a cute wooden plate. A metal spoon was provided (I dislike plastic, so bonus for this). I didn't need the spoon, though. The coffee was smooth. I've never had so balanced a coffee. I usually take my coffee black, but don't like my brews too bitter. People who have trouble with the strong blends will find this flavourful, but not harsh or bitter. I enjoyed it with a macadamia scone. The scone was delicately flavoured, not too sweet and lovely texture. The coffee and scone were as much as I normally pay for a Hong Kong cafe soup and drink, so pricier than I usually indulge, but it was Goooood! read more
