Ordered food from here like I usually do but this time the food was horrible! The beef in my dish tasted "off" and was stringy and chewy... Could not eat it. The egg rolls were always good but this time they were so greedy that they were inedible. The curry chicken....horrible...the chicken also tasted off and was stringy and chewy and did not taste like chicken....won't be ordering anymore from here. read more

Great food reasonably price large portions and very fast delivery. They cook on order. Food delivery came fast and hot.

Wonderful service, yum food, and delivery available. Greatly appreciated. LOL I especially like their appetizers! read more

Have lived here a few months and just found this place. The fact that orders take a little while hints that everything is prepared when you order it, not sitting around. Staff handles a line quickly. So easy to park! Have yet to try delivery. Wish it was a sit down restaurant. read more

Excellent food! Decor may be lacking, but food and service is top notch! Support this local family run business! read more

very poor quality protein. The chicken was not chicken, it was some kind of textured white meat. I ordered chicken chow mein. My husband ordered some kind of beef dish. The beef was fatty full of gristle and not really edible. Veggies were okay. We ordered on a Wednesday night in late August. read more

Here's a Chinese restaurant that unique in its food style. Good portions, good people and satisfied hunger. Always come in for my fix.

Not sure if other reviewers have had good Chinese food. The pad Thai was tasteless, 4 cups of noodles, 4 shrimp, 1/2 inch piece of scallion. Maybe peanut powder on top ??? Chicken curry and Szechuan shrimp also unremarkable. No rice with the order. Steamed vegs were fresh. 1 and done for this restaurant, even if it is the only game in town. read more

Service was good which is why I gave it 2 stars, however the food was not very good. We ordered yellow chicken curry and garlic chicken and in both dishes the chicken was rubbery and tasteless. read more

Awful and we've tried a few times. Chicken was slimy / really yuk! Disappointing because years ago it was really good.

Family-owned and operated, HKK has been consistently good for many, many years. With hands-on attention to every detail, along with careful preparation of a wide variety of home-made and old-country recipes, you will be surprised and delighted by everything you order. Look for the colorful "OPEN" flag at the beginning of Railroad Ave and stop in. You'll be glad you did. read more

It's American Chinese food at its finest. Great comfort fair and family run. Can't ask for better for a traditional American Chinese food meal. read more

The food is OK, great crab Rangoon. However, beware of the prices. The actual prices are not shown on Yelp. Actual cost is 15% +. There are over 3 web locations for this restaurant, all showing different menus and costs, with old and outdated prices. The actual prices are not reflected on any site, so I was surprised when I picked it up. read more

Moving nearby from a place with amazing Chinese food of all varieties and wanted to find out if Hong Kong Kitchen would satisfy the craving when it hit. When I went to pick up the food the unpleasant aroma inside was my first clue to be prepared for disappointment. The second clue was the bright orange goop they pass off as duck sauce. Took two bites of each dish and then tossed it all. Sesame chicken was probably yesterday's Sweet n Sour with a few sesame seeds sprinkled on top. The inside of the eggroll, was grey, colorless and tasted off. I don't know how you can screw up pork fried rice but they managed. read more

The delivery was quick and the food delicious. It was even healthy....the Hot and Sour Soup was brimming with mushrooms, lotus flower, seaweed, tofu, scallions and much more in a savory broth of depth and complexity. The shrimp were yummy....cooked just right...I hate it when places overcook seafood! Also all the delivery persons have been really nice! read more

I really enjoy Hong Kong Kitchen. They're in a new location right around the corner from the old one and had been closed for several months during the first part of the pandemic. I was hoping they would return and they did, and offer delivery service now! I love their fried rice. I think it's my favorite in the area. I haven't found anywhere near me that has rice as good and having lived in the Gloucester area for years I can say nothing there compares to their awesome rice. We called before their opening hours on Saturday to double check that we could order delivery later and they were kind enough to take our order right then and not make us wait until they officially opened. I thought that was really nice customer service. We gave our order and within 20 minutes the delivery arrived. Easy and the delivery man was really pleasant. My only complaint, and honestly this could be our fault as I don't know how old the menu was that my mother had on hand, was they got the order wrong. They had repeated back the combo plate numbers so I know they took it down right but I wonder if the menu changed. I wanted a combo with fried shrimp but instead got one with a bit of everything - a pretty traditional combo with chicken wings, teryiaki, chicken fingers and the pork strips. I didn't love the pork strips but everything else was tasty. Very filling as the portions are huge. My mother decided to plan her weekend meals around the food and ordered two dishes. The chicken chow mein she loved. She thought the egg foo young was just okay. We also somehow ended up with 4 egg rolls. I think she may have accidentally ordered them but no complaints as I love their egg rolls. We also got a side of crab rangoon which was very flavorful. Price wise and portions are amazing. You get a ton of food for the money. And I was very impressed with their great customer service this time! read more

Finally!! Great Chinese food in MA. This place is take out only but have the best house fried rice and egg rolls I've had since leaving NH. Definitely recommend. read more

Basic on the outside but glowing within, super fast clean middle of the road Chinese food at reasonable prices relative to the portion size. I love getting massive take out orders for my family when we're all together, and it's fantastic for that niche. Entrees are well done and a really solid spot of this sort of food on the whole. Get the Egg Drop soup! read more

Has your run of mill Chinese food take out choices. Not too greasy which is a huge plus and did in fact taste delicious. But to get a 5 star in my book, you gotta be on par with something that I want to go running back to the next time I'm in the area. read more

Food was awesome! Delivered hot and on time. Portions were generous. Crab Rangoons were the best I've ever had!

We just moved here from NYC and needed to find a decent Chinese restaurant and lo and behold, Hong Kong Kitchen. This is not fancy/authentic Chinese food, but it is fresh, delicious, generous Chinese-American takeout. We have gotten many things and all were good and satisfied our craving. read more

We are from Boston and this is one of the top 3 Chinese restaurants we go to, including in Boston. This is because the food is delicious and made with fresh ingredients. Some of our favorites are the spicy Thai shrimp soup, egg drop soup, eggplant family style, garlic shrimp, and massaman shrimp curry. We have gotten takeout here any, many times always with the same high quality. Takeout service is quick, with great attention to specific requests. A plus: free parking and next to the train station. Definitely recommend! read more

Everything was extremely tasty. Loved the egg rolls and pork fried rice. Will go back again

If you are looking for typical Chinese that you can trust to be solid take out this is your place. People answering phone and inside all friendly and nice. Chicken fingers, dumplings, scallion pan cakes, lo mein and fried rice all good. We ate outside by the ocean. We will definitely be back! read more

This would be a negative rating if at all possible. The food was really greasy and, though I and my girlfriend both got separate dishes, they both looked and tasted the same. To top it all off, when we went to eat some of the leftovers the next day, my girlfriend nearly choked on a 4 PRONGED METAL STAPLE from their packing boxes. The place should be shut down and we're in the process of dealing with the Better Business Bureau, because the old lady in charge had the audacity to ask me to bring the rest of the food back before I could get a refund!!! Were I a lesser man, they would have a brick through their window by now. Steer VERY WELL CLEAR of this rats nest. read more

Hot and sour soup is my cure for the common cold and Hong Kong Kitchen came through with the yummiest ever - filled with all sorts of goodies from tofu to mushrooms. The Moo Shi pork was excellent. Such good food, and wonderful people! The boneless spare ribs are my favourite. The hot and sour soup cures all of my colds, and the service is lovely. Also, the art inside is so cool!
