I eat at honey's all the time; breakfast and lunch are both tasty. For breakfast I love the veggie scramble, it has just the right amount of cheese to satisfy but not too much to make you feel unhealthy. Portions are huge and I almost always split my breakfast with someone. I would not recommend ordering your eggs over easy here, I've gotten almost raw eggs twice (the whites were still clear and the yolk wasn't even warm - seems a little unsafe). For lunch I always get the garden salad, it's crisp and loaded with lots of great veggies and so inexpensive. The poppyseed dressing is amazing, sweet, tangy and a little crunchy from the poppyseeds. They also have lots of fun flavored coffees, I like to mix them and make my own custom flavor. Sit outside and enjoy the sun and people watching. read more

Anybody wanting a good solid breakfast or lunch along the 101 in Encinitas should stop in to Honeys. The locals know about it, and it should be out there for everyone. I LOVE their pancakes.....today was Boysenberry and Banana's. I added a couple scrambled eggs and bacon for good measure. They have an awesome Acai Bowl. Their omelettes and sandwiches are large but healthy. It does get busy, and their is limited seating. Don't let this intimidate you! Stop in for a friendly meal. read more

I was excited to try this place because of the great Yelp reviews, but I was disappointed and underwhelmed. The food was just meh. I ordered the Ensanada Omelette and I got more of a scramble plopped on a congealed gloop of cheese. Coffee selection was great. I'm afraid to give this place a second chance because within 15 minutes of leaving, I got severe food poisoning. And severe is putting is lightly. read more

Only ate breakfast there, has about 15 different tasty brewed coffees like Kona and vanilla nut. The granola pancakes were yummy, but its hard to mess that up. What I really go there for is they're healthy low-fat muffins, which sell out so get there early! If anyone knows better low-fat muffins, I'd love to know. read more

Tried the lobster benedict as my fellow yelpers suggested and they never fail to disappoint! DE-FREAKIN-LISH! Country potatoes with just enough crisp and flavor to absorb the oooey goodness swirling into the plate. Hubster had the homemade hash and enjoyed that as well. For you smoothie lovers- try the wildberry it was creamy and full of flavor- really fresh ingredients! This place is DA BOMB! Try the acai, fruit and yogurt plate. Their sandwiches are also good. My man always is satisfied with their scrambles... I'm not much of an egg person myself. I came in to Honey's on a recent Sunday morning around 9:30 to grab some breakfast. It's a quaint little place with a truly Encinitas vibe, complete with local photos and murals. Walk on in, grab a menu, and pour yourself a cup of coffee while you wait in line to order! Please note, only get the coffee if you're planning on paying for it when you get up front...it's not like it's free or anything! But they've got a long line with a great variety of coffee on the right hand side when you come in, so you can pick what you want and pour it into either a ceramic mug or a to-go cup. I got the Ensenada Omelette (chorizo, green onions, tomatoes, Ortega chilis, topped with salsa, guacamole and sour cream). It also comes with potatoes and their potato-bread toast. It was a good sized portion at a good price ($8 or so), and it really hit the spot. The toast is also kind of like a "Texas" toast and was really good. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. It wasn't too bad when we got inside and we were able to order pretty quick and find a table. The crowd did swell at times while we were eating so I guess we timed it perfectly. 5 minutes later and we could have been waiting for 10 minutes or so but that's still not bad. My favorite breakfast place ever. I will admit that parking is a pain. It is in downtown Encinitas. The place also gets packed. I can't hold this against them because their food is delicious and their prices rock. I just feel bad for the people working here because they are constantly running around. The line never ends. Now that we have all the cards on the table let me explain why the parking and the crowds have not stopped me from coming here. The long line does not deter me from waiting in it just to order some muffins. Every meal I have had here has been great. The salmon scramble dishes, acai bowls, smoothies, and muffins are all winners. I even stop by just to pick up muffins for my family when I am driving back from SD. They have really unique and yummy options. I seriously don't know what to get because everything sounds so good. read more

Busy busy busy! But I like the setup. Stand in line with a menu. You can grab a cup of awesome pot coffee while you wait and select your food (lots of deliciousness to chose from too). Pay for your food once you reach the front of the line and they'll serve it to you once it's ready. I'd hate to say "fast food" style service because this is FAR from that. But, you aren't waiting around for a waiter and the food was pretty awesome. Our table of 6 did a lot of sharing and I had no complaints. read more

So: I used to be a loyal Swami's customer for my weekly Sunday breakfast, but I am pleased to say that I will NOT go there anymore due to Honey's. The only thing that I wish was different is that I made the switch earlier. The quality of the food is unbeatable: you can tell it is fresh and made to order. The best thing though is the customer service: I feel that every time I go there they are upbeat and willing to make sure that I can customize my order and don't make me feel bad about it. I am the type of person that only wants to give my money to a business that I think deserve it, because there are PLENTY of places to go for breakfast. But I am glad to say that I love the thought of waking up on Sunday's and coming here for my breakfast outing. read more

Although Honey's has a good vibe. I'm not that crazy about the food. However it is always busy and they do have a menu that features healthy items. Don't order their salmon dishes...I think I had Salmon and eggs and it was very salty. Stick to the simpler things such as salads and other omelets and you'll be fine. Honey's was THE spot to go when my friend and I were ditching class in high-school and wanted good coffee and breakfast. I would usually get the eggs benedict or eggs florentine for breakfast, although their breakfast burritos are BOMB. For lunch, I sway between their Vogue Salad which is uber healthy and comes with a not-so-healthy but delicious piece of garlic bread and this succulent poppyseed dressing for the salad. love this little place - it's one of my go to brunch restaurants! it's not very big and gets really crowded on the weekends, so expect to wait, as the line is often out the door. it's not typical wait service - you order at the counter, then find a seat and they bring it to you. the inside dining area is crowded and diner-ish. they also have outdoor seating on the sidewalk. i've never had anything here that wasn't good - chilaquiles, scrambles, pancakes/waffles, breakfast burritos - it's all great. they have a large menu, which includes lots of tasty vegetarian options. one of my favorites is the healthy breakfast burrito, which has soyrizo and is delicious. i'm not a big coffee drinker, but two of my friends have said they have the best coffee. you can't beat this place - the prices are excellent, the service is good, and the food is reliably delicious! read more

I used to live in Cardiff and this was one of my regular restaurants. You wait in line to order then have to find a seat which can be tough if you have a lot of people and on the weekends when it is busiest. My favorites are the salmon scramble for breakfast, the vogue health salad for lunch, and Mexican mocha any time of day. They have acai bowls with lots of fruit and you can buy a container of really great granola. read more

This used to be our favorite breakfast place. I just love the wall of coffee. We used to go here every weekend. Then one day when they bought out my Eggs Benedict, it was covered with black hairs. I'm not talking one for two hairs either, it was totally covered, it should have been called Hair Benedict. It was the grossest thing, and every time I think of this place I remember this meal. Hi this is Teek, Always a cool place to watch our mom grab breakfast, catch up with friends and wait for people to drop pieces of toast on the ground (by accident). Unfortunately my brother Tucker is faster than me in snatching it up. That's why he was given the nick name "Chub Rock". We like to head there after the breakfast and lunch rush so we usually get there around 12:30-1:00pm. it's perfect timing because mom is able to find a seat for all of us to sit at. However we are usually under the table but I always try to jump and chill on mom's lap. We LUV the bacon that they serve. It's always crispy and super delicious. Tons of choices on the menu as well as great specials you will find on the board inside. Same owners of Swami's. The granola is great, tons of coffee choices, the bacon is always crispy ( oh wait, I think I already mentioned that.). The staff is always nice especially the family that owns Honey's. The acai bowl is one of the best I've ever had...good mix of berries, coconut, bee pollen, and granola...I've been told if you ask them they say they buy the granola at Whole Foods.....Kids meals are large enough for your kids to share. Omelettes are also large and another good thing to share....you order at the counter and then they bring it to your seat. The self serve coffee although numerous in flavors lacks any taste and is the reason for only four stars but other than that a great local breakfast joint....go early it gets crowded... read more

This place is the best breakfast in Encinitas. Of course, that is why it is so crowded!!!! Sometimes we get our food to go and eat down on moonlight beach (walking distance). We eat there maybe 6 times per year. It is always delicious and crowded. I love the salmon scrambler, with lox, capers, cream cheese, tomato scrambled into eggs. It is SO GOOD. My kids like the donuts and muffins. I also enjoy their ABC quesadilla (Avocado, bacon, cheese). It also has egg in the quesadilla and salsa on the side. The toast is great! No ambience, very crowded, not the cheapest, but always fresh and incredibly delicious. Never had a bad meal at Honey's! read more
