We live walking distance from Honey Elixir and it seems to be a place built for satisfying both my husband and myself. My husband is not a big drinker and loves organic herbs/elixirs. When I drink cocktails, I don't like them to be super sweet or made from off the shelf mixes. Honey Elixir has organic herbal portions and drinking chocolates for my old man and lots of interesting hand-crafted cocktails for me to choose from. We're both happy and ready to sit down and relax with our drinks of choice. The drinks (both non-alcoholic and otherwise) are always beautifully presented and consistently taste great. The inside of Honey Elixir is beautiful: lots of interesting furnishings and art pieces. The wait staff there are friendly and knowledgeable. We love going there to get drinks we enjoy and it is a great place to take out of town guests because we know it is going to be a unique experience for them. It is also worth noting this is a woman/women-owned business which employs a diverse group of employees. Once you step into Honey Elixir, you get an awesome vibe accompanied by a beautiful design with some really cool pieces of furniture to add to the very unique aesthetic of the bar. The entire place feels very intentional and the owner did an impeccable job on the vision for this spot. The diverse wait staff are nice and friendly as well which makes the experience that much better. For the drinks: All of the drinks we ordered were amazing and beautifully presented. We were seated to a couple of sofas in the middle and had a great time trying the drinks. Our servers were very friendly and helpful when it came to answering our questions about the drinks on the menu: Chocolit mocktail: 4/5, I tried this drink from my friend and it was a very nice cool drink. Had nice notes of cacao but I wouldn't think I'd be able to finish the entire drink if I had ordered it by myself. Worth noting as well is that this drink comes cold or hot and does contain caffeine! Went here for the first time on a Thursday, and they had a live DJ playing. It was SO LOUD. Definitely killed the otherwise really cool vibe, and they added $5 to each of our tabs for the DJ, which I was not a fan of. Was actually going to give this place 3 stars because of that (and some unfriendly looks from one of the hosts), but I really love the fact that they have so many low ABV and non-alcoholic options. And no added sugars or sweeteners in any of their drinks (hence "honey elixir" - it's all sweetened with honey!). Super cute area that I had been wanting g to check out. I was here with a friend early on a Wednesday. There were only 4 other people in the whole place when I walked in and it didn't get much busier after that. I sat on the couches until I saw "reserved". I asked the wait staff if I should move and she said yes. I was moved to the side to/a rather uncomfortable straight back padded bench. My friend and I sat there for close to 2 hours and still no one came into sit in the middle section. I asked her if the party the table was reserved for had cancelled. She said it wasn't reserved for anyone in particular, they just like to keep it open for larger groups. I'm totally cool with that. But why not let others sit there until or "IF" anyone else comes in? She was pretty condescending in her explanation, "I just thought you'd be more comfortable over here". I was like, huh. I have heard a lot of good things about this bar and wanted to give it a try. The space itself is super cute; the artwork, the couches, the colors, the alley entry. All very posh but cozy at the same time. However, it does look like it needs a little tlc, specifically on the couches and the pillows. The pillows were squished and lumpy and stained. The drink I had was okay but lacked a little something to make me feel like the 15$ it cost me was with it. The server seemed to have a cross between a "can't be bothered" and pretentious attitude which really didn't add to the experience. They were so good we invited 3 more friends to join us but before they arrived we got kicked out because there is a "90 minute table limit" that we were not aware of. There was no one in the bar...the establishment was empty. I asked the server if we could all come back with the 3 friends and they said we could not. The server was also mean to us while kicking us out and the entire situation made zero sense. I'm still trying to figure it out. We found this place on Google Maps while we were visiting Denver. I saw pictures of the place and was immediately drawn to it. I loved the photos of the decor/vibe, the plants, and the drinks. When we finally got there, we were seated almost immediately. The person that sat us and the person that served us were both nice and friendly. When we ordered, we asked for a cocktail that was somewhat "tropical/refreshing". That's just what we were in the mood for at the time. The server made a couple of suggestions and we went for it. To be honest...the drinks weren't what we had in mind, BUT, that doesn't fall on them. The drinks we ordered were actually well made and had a good combination of flavors. I personally enjoyed them and would order them again! We were just expecting something more fruity and sweet. I think that's where I messed up on our visit. I didn't take the time to really analyze the menu and find out more about what kind of drinks/experience they are trying to provide. We were getting pretty hungry by the time we were finishing our drinks, and had some restaurants we wanted to try for lunch. We were only there for about 30 - 45 minutes. Once I got home (Oregon), I went on their website and read their mission, I read more about their cocktails and where they get some of their ingredients, and took a look at the menu again. I noticed that we missed the experience/vibe they are trying to set and provide. Even though I enjoyed this place and left happy, I think I would've enjoyed it even more if I would've known what I know now. My advice to you, if you are hoping to visit, is to take just a few minutes to visit their website. Read what they have posted about themselves and look at the entire menu. There are things on there that I had never heard of before and would like to go back and try. This is an amazing option if you want to go out with friends but might not want to drink alcohol. My friend and I got the Four Fiore, Chicha, and a Love Spell, all of which are non-alcoholic. The Four Fiore was light, floral, and the perfect level of bubbly and creaminess. The Chicha had a more bold and refreshing taste plus a nice mouth feel. The Love Spell was probably my favorite as it was extremely floral without being overly sweet and it came in an incredibly adorable potion flask. The cheese plater also had an amazing mix of soft and hard cheese with dried figs, almonds, jam, and fresh toast. We also got a chocolate mousse that paired amazingly with all the drinks and cheeses. The gals who helped us were also super friendly and perfectly balanced checking in on us and letting us be goofy while we took our pictures.
