I live in South Florida and my company headquarters are up the road in Valencia. Since only a few key people in the office know my name but not my face (I've only visited there 2x in 2 years) I figured they would remember me if I brought in some donuts. I like doughnuts, especially old school one and this is what Honey Doughnuts has. It's a little place and the doughnuts aren't anything to get up and scream about. The place was neat, tidy and clean, all important things. Sometimes doughnut shops just feel like the have a film on them. Honey Doughnuts doesn't have that feel. So if you were looking for a greasy grungy place, sorry this isn't the place for you They are just as good as any other local doughnuts shop. But here's the difference. The lady that was behind the counter was so nice. You know when you meet someone and you just think to yourself, I think I like you and I know nothing about you, but I like you. She was that kinda person. Usually when I go into a doughnut shop they look at me with a blank stare and just grab what ever doughy treat I point at with the tongs, squish the hell out of it and then toss it in a bag. She seemed to really care. It was nice, she made sure I got the exact ball of fried dough I pointed at, asked me about the weather, and then folded the bag neatly and cleanly. I think I have a crush on her. It's a healthy crush though. So the bottom line is that their doughnuts are good, but more importantly I think I found a new friend. And that makes me happy. read more

After a long drive home from Big Bear, I got a craving for some coffee and maybe a pastry. So my girlfriend and I, stopped at Starbucks. My favorite thing happens to be apple fritters. As usual, the coffee and the the fritter were disappointing. Today, on our way home from some shopping, I decided to write my wrongs from last night and try out a donut shop that I would regularly drive by because it's on the wrong side of the road than my usual commute in the morning. Needless to say, we stopped. The store is small. Located right next to a mexican food place southbound off the busy Railroad ave. There are several small tables, the dining area and counters were all exceptionally clean. We visited this place at around noon, and it looked to have been cleaned out by then- luckily my apple fritter wasn't. We got the fritter and a dozen donut holes, for a whopping $3. Last night, the fritter alone cost that. If Starbucks had any sense in the world it would contract out this store to make their donuts. The apple fritter is filled with apples, about five inches in diameter, very thin, and crunchy throughout. Honestly the best i'd ever tasted. I will try to stay away, as my New Years resolution will dearly suffer from the discovery of this amazing place. read more

It is easy to miss since the road was made wider several years ago but hidden at the t- intersection of 13th Street and railroad in Newhall you will find the best, finest quality Donuts anywhere in the Santa Clarita Valley or all of LA for that matter. This small place has been doing donuts for a long time and you can taste the difference in the quality and the love that they have for creating the greatest tasting donut around. About every 3rd month I have to come to Santa Clarita for a back procedure. Every time we come we have to leave at 5am and drive 2 hours for my appointment. It's really hard on my 4 year old so yesterday he did so well we decided to stop at a doughnut shop. And I am beyond grateful we chose Honey Dougnuts! We only had $2 in cash and the ATM was down in the shop. We were about to leave and I knew it was going to crush my 4 year olds excitement. But the shop owner stopped us and told us to pick any dounut we wanted and it was ok. We let our 4 year old pick a flavor and we thanked her. But she insisted both my husband and I also each pick a dougnut. She was so sweet and I was almost brought to tears. Sometimes in this world that is filled with so much hate there comes someone who proves that there are still amazing and kind hearted people. We have to go back for another back procedure September 5th and we plan on stopping again, but this time with enough cash to buy a dozen or two! Because can I just say they are also the best doughnuts we have ever tasted? I have lived in 8 states and even more cities and I have never tasted better doughnuts and I've lived In some huge cities! This place has some serious production issues! They open by 4am and this is the 4th time I go to this place specifically for their glazed donuts and by 7am... 7AM they are fresh out and DO NOT make any more! I won't sit here and say that their donuts are bad because they're not... they are really good but the problem is they never have any of their main item (glazed donuts) in stock so how do they stay open for business? At this point it seems more like a front for something else which is keeping their doors open.
