This restaurant is a gem! They artfully present their dishes. The flavor is exquisite! The portions are very much sizable and well worth their fair and reasonable prices. My partner and I shared the pav bhaji and a masala dosa. We both left so full and extremely happy with our meal. Don't forget the mukwas/fennel as you leave! This was a Disgusting experience mostly because we had a waitress who didn't like her job & it somehow hurt her ego, or self respect to serve us. I would give this place zero stars if possible. The food was mediocre, but that's irrelevant. The waitress did not know what "ghee" was.., which is a surprise as "honest" is supposedly an Indian restaurant. She also suggested that I eat just plain naan if I prefer low spice. She wasn't asked for her expertise opinion on what I should consume, so this suggestion was cringe especially as most people don't just grind down on dry naan. All the while she was staring me down in the strangest way. Worse than the food was the slow service. Our waitress simply had a bad attitude & 30 minutes into it she openly ignored our multiple requests to please remove the extra plates we had finished. Even after eye contact & waving several times, she choose to socialise instead of serving us. My Daal was 100% cold before I could get a side of butter as this place does not use ghee, nor any healthy/authentic ingredients. I'm not sure if she simply hated her job, her life, or didn't want to work during the holidays or was experiencing envy? Either way, she purposely ignored me many times & made it a horrible experience for us. ON A HOLIDAY!! Also, the menus were so ugly. They were cheap, pealing & practically shedding in the table. The tables were sticky as well. The owner(s) clearly hired the wrong people to run the business to the ground. We are definitely NOT visiting again. There's too many good places on the same block. I hope management reads this & makes positive changes. One positive change that would surely promote business would be to replace this waitress that clearly resents customers. read more

My dad and I were extremely hungry so we ordered one thali thinking it would be enough for us because when we order in Jay Bharat even one thali is too heavy for us. Anyways we ordered the thali wrapped beautifully and everything. We paid $11.99 for it. When I opened it at my house the 2 shaks were less than half full, the one Gulab Jamun which was desert, didn't even taste like a gulab jamun, it tasted like a rasgulla. Like what the heck. If you want to be choosy, dont open a restaurant. The only thing I recommend eating is the pav bhaji. I tried calling them to ask why was the quantity so little, they did not pick up, I called them 7 times, and my dad even said when he went in there was no rush even. We went here on a saturday evening and had to wait about 45 minutes to get a table. The reason primarily being extremely poor service and clueless staff. They were short on menus so we had to wait like 10 minutes to get one. There is only 1 waitress who takes the order for the entire restaurant and she is totally clueless and has no idea what their menu contains and has a No for every customization you would ask for. We ordered a couple pav bhajis, 1 veg cheese grill sandwich which had to be sent back due to absolute lack of veggies and cheese. Ordered took about 50 minutes to arrive and we had to ask about it 3 times. Service was so bad that they kept bringing random orders for other table thinking they were ours. And by the way be careful when that happens since there is a chance those incorrect items will end up on your bill. Overall the food was juat about ok. Nothing too great about it. We have been to the Honest chain of restaurants in Ahmedabad several times and this one in Los Angeles is nothing like the original chain in Ahmedabad. I would suggest staying away from this place for atleast the next several months if at all they end up fixing their service issues. read more

Chili Garlic noodles-The chilly is literally crushed red pepper smothered over the top. Other than heat, no taste. Dosa-Was not cooked properly and parts were very thick. First time ordering delivery from this place. Although flavorful, the food arrived cold. The samosas were a nice size but lukewarm on outside and COLD inside... not good. I also ordered Chana Masala, the garbanzo/chickpea masala and it was cold. I was also not provided with any naan bread... what the heck??? Had terrible experience at the restaurant. First they told me and my wife to sit anywhere, and then after 20 min of waiting at a table, one person came and told we can't sit there due to social distancing. There was NO note posted on the table for us to know beforehand, and it was very insulting to see them remove us with that rude behavior. Rude Manager! Gave us cold food and was so condescending when we told him about it. He says they don't have "freezer" and that they always serve hot food and make everything fresh. When we told him about the cold dosa he thought we were being dishonest because we didn't like it and wanted a refund. He was literally accusing us of cheating him. He also said "I am not trying to prove you wrong, I am just trying to prove myself right". If somebody is going above and beyond and shows you camera footage that was literally 10 minutes ago and it took him forever to show it to us then there is something fishy and they are definitely not "HONEST" and just trying to prove himself right. read more

We went to Honest today and it was a very disappointing experience. It was so hot outside today, close to 100 degrees that we were looking forward to a nice Indian meal indoors in a cooler temperature. We were seated at a table that had not been cleaned well and there was food still on the table and booths. Then, my husband received a dirty water glass with visible old food on the glass. Also, the waiter hands you open straws with his bare hands, which is very unhygienic. On top of the cleanliness issue, it was very hot in the restaurant as there was no AC and when we asked for the temperature to be cooler, they said the AC is not working and they turned on a tiny fan to swivel in the front of the restaurant. They did not even have any ceiling fans. The food is ok, but when you request spicy Indian food and then eat it in a very hot restaurant, it is very uncomfortable and their is no enjoyment at all. We will not be returning to this restaurant again as there are many better options available on Pioneer, such as Udupi or Rasraj. The items we ordered were Bahubali Sandwich, Bhakhri Pizza, Cheese Paav Bhaji, Cheese Pulao and Cheese Dosa. The taste of all items was awesome and beyond expectations except the Cheese Dosa. The dosa did not arrive at our table for one hour! The waiter said that there was some mixup going on... after reminding 3 times, finally Cheese Dosa arrived but it had no cheese in it. We went there two days go to have a late lunch. I would give the food quality and cleanliness 2 stars. I ordered one Palak Paneer stew and one Rice and one Naan and a mango smoothie (which wad quite warm), the food was greasy and hard to digest. They asked for 38$ and didnt even show the bill!! We ordered 8 pav bhaji 1 masala uttapam and 2 Gobi manchurian for 10 people .manchurian was good but pavbhaji had too much masala and black pepper in it no one can eat it and had potato masala on uttapam without roasting also spicy and not at all like uttapam . We complain about poor food preparation and we were told that it's always been like this as if we have ordered the dish for the first time, however, that's still fine, we accepted that excuse and was considering not to order the same dish ever again, in the mean time the on duty manager came and said that he will bring us the fresh one. as we were already done, we didn't show interest in getting a fresh plate served, however the manager insisted and asked for a chance to correct the mistake, however, while we were waiting for the serving and wait-staff came by and rudely said that "we can't serve another dish to you and if you need one, you have to pay", it was so insulting, we didn't ask them to serve another and we didn't expect them to disrespect as well. it was the manager on duty who insisted us to wait.When the wait staff was asked to apologize by the manager he further used bad words and behaved very aggressively with the manager too. If the staff can't respect you as a manager,how would you expect them to respect the customer. The owner chimed in however, couldn't control the staff's behavior. The owner tried his best to convince us but with this instance no one will dare to go back and would like to make everyone aware that they should stay away from such restaurants. Hi All ,I am sharing my worst ever experience with this restaurant today.We have been travelling from San Diego all the way to Artesia to eat Bhakhri Pizza and Bahubali Sandwich.Today we ordered Bhakhri pizza and we got it in very thick crust which we thought very weird and asked the attendee about it.He said he will check with the waiter and confirm. Waiter came and said "This is how it is and used to be same ".We said we have been eating since long and it was not used to be this way. He said "We have increased a $1 and hence increased the crust" worst ever explanation.We were done with our food and one of the attendee came to make sure if all was good .And he himself insisted that they will make another for us for which we denied since we were done with food.But he insisted and we said we just want 1 and not 2 (our initial order was of 2") Again after some time waiter came and said you will not get another and if you want you have to pay for it. We said we didnt ask for another ,your attendee insisted and then we said okay for the replacement one.We felt very humilitated listening that sentence and called that waiter again.He started misbehaving and we asked him to shut up to which that waiter replied with "You shut up".The moment became very furious and owner came and started discussion and unwillingly apologized. Have been to this place couple of times previously. Recently went there the food quality & service has gone down. The Bhaubali sandwich was cold . The biggest disappointment was the Chinese Bhel. It was mix of boiled noodles , vegetables & some added crispy noodles. Wasn't cripsy at all soggy & absolutely tasteless. No sweet, tangy crispy chinese which expected. Please take it off the menu .
