I spoke with John who told me that the charge for a technician to come to the site would be $29, and that the Technician would come with locks that we could choose from. He added that the lock starts from $30. Appointment made, and confirmed for 10:30 am on Thursday, 3/25/2021.Technician David (phone no. 540-495-1782) came to the address. He informed me and my husband that the charge was $320. I informed him of what John that I spoke with told me about pricing. "The person you spoke with is not licensed and that is the price." He took advantage of the presence of the two Sheriffs in attendance, and time constraint. He ended taking $409 cash from us. The receipt sent to my cell phone showed $309, for two locks. The receipt has A1 Locksmith on it. David only changed one lock. I called several times to talk with the Manager Jay (Day) who said he would call back after contacting the Technician. We left voicemail message on David's Cell phone (No. 540-495-1782) calling his attention that he only changed one lock and got $409 from us. David called back and denied changing one lock. He also denied getting $409 from us. "I only got $309 from you. I think you have problem with your wife. F... you" He said and hung up. The company should deal honestly, respectfully, professionally, considerably with customers. Technician David of A1 Locksmith should refrain from using vulgar language to customers. I contacted Annandale Lock & Key Service, based on Google and a whim. The person I spoke to was extremely friendly and helpful, and Chris came to our aid in barely 30 minutes! It turned out that the lock was so old, we just didn't understand the trick to get the key to work. But that point notwithstanding, Chris was INCREDIBLE! He stayed and re-keyed all of our locks and took the time to explain our strange, antique front door lock. The lock was missing a piece needed to engage the deadbolt from indoors, and Chris told us he would do some Internet research and let us know what part we needed to buy (which he did about an hour later).
