Very disappointed. Stayed one night. Room smelled of stale beer. Fire alarm went off at 2am..... For about an hour.... No fire but was told by staff that it was malfunctioning. Low-End accommodations is putting it mildly. Unfriendly service at hotel. Indian Pines Cafe food not bad from menu. Seafood Buffet was good but staff was unfriendly. POOR customer service. Lack of concern and not attentive to any needs of guests. Would NOT recommend this. Save your money and stay at the Motel 8. read more

We've been staying at this hotel since it opened in late 90s. When it was newer, it was an Okay place to stay in this small town. Lately, it started to show its age and lack of attention to maintaining it shows more and more clearly. While the hotel bathrooms have been remodeled and are really nice, the rooms have not been touched since it opened. Carpet and beds are dated and dirty. A small fridge in the room makes noise. Worst of all was the heater that makes a loud clicking noise when it turns on, followed by a hum while it is working. We had two rooms this visit and both rooms had this problem. I'm not a light sleeper, but had a problem falling asleep with all this noise and woke up once in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep because of this. The bedding is also horrendous; pillows are like inflated balloons, want to throw your head off onto the floor. The sheets have signs of wear and have spots. The synthetic blanket sends electrostatic sparks flying every time you move. After staying there for the last 15 years almost every time we've gone skiing in Sunrise, we've decided to make this most recent stay our last. read more

Room was nice. Got a balcony room overlooking the parking lot. Hope you don't want to use the pool. All the people from the reservation use the pool and lots of unruly and unsupervised kids made it impossible to enjoy the pool or hot tub. Last time for us here. Very disappointed. Had to return to our room for the rest of the day. The steak on Tuesday was the only good thing about this place. What a shame when they allow people who are not staying in the hotel to use the amenities. No more Indian hotels for us! read more

First off the local Indians are rude and most are drunk. Everyday there's about 10 to 15 of them who sit in the lobby and want to bum cigarettes or ask you for a ride or money. They don't stay at the hotel they just bring their children and hang out in the lobby while the other one blows all the money in the casino. I just walked my dog and was harrassed by every drunk Indian in the lobby, it's 5 in the morning and snowing, really? I was even persued by one outside where we exchanged words. The casino is terrible the machines don't hit at all and there's no one playing poker. The restruant was terrible they screwed up all the orders and the manager was rude. When I take a trip up here I'll stay at the cheaper inns, their well worth it and the locals don't hang out there. read more

Utterly offended. Utterly disappointed. Overall disgusted with the attitude here. My grandmother just passed away and I got scolded by the front desk because one of my aunts (who's in mourning for goodness sake) forgot to make a list of people included in our special rate. SCOLDED. Went to the gift shop and the lady closed 10 minutes early and refused to resume business with me. Then room service never picked up my door hanger order and I caught shade, disrespect, total indifference, and bad attitide from the entirety of the staff I encountered in my attempt to remedy their mistake. I've never been so ashamed of my own tribe before. I expect a whole hearted genuine apology from every staff member from today and yesterday and a complete renovation of the work ethic here. Absolutely unacceptable and intolerable. How DARE you all! Laziness is unacceptable at work. If your guest has a problem, in the hospitality industry, YOU have a problem. And to scold me during such a difficult time should cost that careless incompetent woman with such a despicable lack of cognizance her job. Decided to take a little trip north to relax and get a breath of fresh air an found ourselves at the Hon Dah Casino. Checked in the room was $149.00 however it was larger than your average hotel room and had plenty of amenities so we where happy with it. Went downstairs for some cocktails, food and gambling. My wife and I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions from the bar while we played video poker. We were stunned when we both bit into one of the best burgers we have ever had. Who would have thought a casino would deliver such a treat. We continued to enjoy a few drinks at the bar winning occasionally but eventually leaving the casino with a couple hundred of our precious green. Room service the next morning was very reasonably priced and my ham steak was noteworthy with grill marks and nice flavor. Our experience could have been four star but the employees that work at this casino where rude and uncommunicative even when we complimented the food and the establishment. Had this behavior been noted in just one employee I might have skipped the thought of it however we experienced this throughout our stay so summed up good food (for a casino) some of the better accommodations (for Show Low) and a group of disgruntled employees. Perhaps we will visit again some day for that burger and a side of bad attitude. read more

I would give the restaurant 0 stars if I could. We were seated, after a long wait the waitress Tamika came over and asked what we wanted to drink. No greeting not even acknowledging us by looking at us. She looked up the whole time like we were such a bother to her by being there. When we finally got our food one of the meals was cold, one meal was fine, and the other meal was not served. we were told it would be a few more minutes. After we were half way through our meal I went to talk to the manager about how rude the waitress was as that we were still missing a meal. He went and checked on it and after a wait we finally got the last meal, which was burnt. I paid for the meal which was horrible and again told him the waitress was rude and that she never came back to refill drinks or ask about the meal. Although he said he would speak to her I find it very hard to believe anything will be done about it because he didn't seem to care. The restaurant had four tables full, there wAs five staff members hiding in a corner and playing around instead of helping customers. The table next to us also left upset. Do yourself a favor and don't eat at this restaurant they don't care about quality or customer service. read more

We stayed at Hon-dah casino last weekend and took advantage of their ski package. This is a great deal and will save you money when purchased as a package. We have stayed at Hon-dah casino many times over the years in the winter, as well as the summer, but this last visit was the most impressive. I accidentally left my wedding ring in my room and checked out last Sunday. I was not aware that I made this mistake until Monday morning. I called Hon-dah and spoke to Cecile who confirmed that my wedding ring was brought to the lost and found from the cleaning crew. I cannot tell you how relieved and surprised I was that someone was so honest and brought my ring to the lost and found. I then worked with Tammy who sent my ring back to me by UPS. She had the package insured and gave me a tracking number to track this delivery. I received the package on Friday and I cannot say enough good things about Hon-dah and the honest and helpful people who work at this resort. read more

If I could give this resort less than one star, I'd do it. We made reservations for mid July 2017 and spoke with the reservation agent at the resort, requesting early arrival and for a room toward the front of the resort as my father is handicapped. During the call, the nice lady stated there would be no problem with either request. Upon reaching the resort and attempting to check in, I was advised that our room was not ready and would probably not be ready until around 2:30 p.m by a front desk attendant who couldn't have been any more apathetic about her job. It was an inconvenience to have to find a way to entertain ourselves for a couple hours but we agreed nonetheless and told her we'd be back. We went out fishing and actually returned just after 4:00 p.m. and our room still wasn't ready. They said it would be closer to 6:00 p.m. We balked and she offered us a different room (not ADA compliant as we'd requested at the time of the reservation) if we wanted to check in right then. We accepted since it was already so late in the day. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed the blankets on the beds had holes in them, the bathroom door stuck and squeaked horribly and the air conditioner dripped on the carpet, creating a huge wet puddle for us to walk through going in and out of the room (it was awesome in the middle of the night when going to the bathroom!!). When we brought it to the attention of the front desk agent, she just said "Oh." and nothing ever came of it. No one came to check it or fix it and we weren't offered a different room. Because the casino is the only "action" in town, they don't really care if you're unhappy during your stay and couldn't care less about the customers in general. read more

My husband and I eat regularly at the Casino on Seafood night-Friday nights. For seafood on the mountain this is as good as it gets. I usually order off the menu. Having eaten there for the last four years on a regular basis, you can say we are used to how the restaurant operates. We've seen great wait staff come and go, it seems only the good ones leave. There are still some outstanding wait staff now, but unfortunately, the bad ones outnumber the good ones. On this particular evening, we were waiting for the buffet to open. It rarely opens at 4:00 when its supposed to. Myself, my husband and a friend of ours were seated. They got their food at the buffet and I waited for someone to show up to take my order. Fifteen minutes into our meal, we are still waiting for someone to get our drink order and I'm still waiting to place an order. The wait staff are all congregated in the corner and no one comes to our table. Five more minutes I approach the wait staff and ask who is our waiter? No one answers. I ask the drink station people if I could get some drinks and I'll wait to take it since no one is coming to take our orders. No one says anything so I get angry and state that I'd like some drinks. A small Apache girl says to me - Calm Down! We just got here! Someone will get your drinks! I ask her - what is your name? And she replies - You don't need to know my name! If I were the physical type - she would've been knocked into next week! Talk about rude, offensive and a total lack of respect! I spoke with the manager - who was polite - but seemed ineffective and told him what his staff said to me. I was not offered an apology but only told that the wait staff takes a break around that time and were just coming back on shift. Some suggestions - which is only common sense. Stagger the break times for the wait staff so there is someone there to take drink orders and orders and people don't have to wait 1/2 hour for someone to show up at their table. This is not the first time we've had to wait more than 15 mins for service. Fire the rude, offensive staff - if they don't want to offer good customer service - they are in the "people" industry. They can always find work at a laundry mat where they don't have to interact with people. Break up the pow-wow in the corner. On any given time when you walk into the restaurant you will find the wait staff congregated in the corner - laughing and talking - about customers? If you don't like your job and it shows in your total lack of customer service - do us all a favor and find a job elsewhere. We go out to enjoy ourselves, and nothing ruins the dining experience more than a disgruntled waitress or waiter. We are paying customers and expect decent service, and being paying customers - we are entitled to that much. Unfortunately, we will still eat there on seafood nights - because the food is good. Wish the service could equal the food. On another note, a letter was forwarded to the General Manager regarding this incident, offensive staff member and how we were treated. Well, I like going to their Casino, but sometimes I feel like telling the employees in the Players Club, that if they don't like their job, please leave so that someone who wants to work with the customers, and knows how to treat them, can come in to work. On Saturday morning about 11am we went to the casino and went to the players club to get our Moolah Money and the employee (Rosemary) was very rude and we felt like WE owed her money. When we told her we did not want the gas coupon, she said that they don't give it anymore on our club card, I did tell her that , Yes they do, cause its only when you have a diesel, and I said to her , We Do, she didn't say anything after that, She gave us our Moolah Money, and just laid our card on the counter, then turned to talk with the other employee. Now Usually they Tell customers how much they have on their card, and Good Luck, But this employee did not tell us nothing, Which made me very upset, So I did write a complaint on her, and I sure hope that the next time we go, IF there is a next time, that she is not there. read more
