When it rains it pours! After a frozen spigot burst and flooded my basement to the point of a total…read morerehab, I now understand why my yard is the playground for the neighborhood squirrels. Once the basement drywall and ceiling was removed, we discovered a gap in the foundation. Basically you could call it a front door for squirrels and other varmints. Uugh. No wonder why its so cold down there! We had no idea what had been going on inside of our walls. We needed an exterminator a.s.a.p. so as not to slow down the rehab work. I avoided the big name pest control companies in hopes of getting a reasonable price. I called Reeds and discovered he had previously been employed by one of the other companies I had received an estimate from. Right off the bat, without coming out he said he would beat their price. I liked that. There was a little confusion on the day he was supposed to come. I'll admit we were leery after the mix up because synchronizing the other contractor's time was crucial. Once the owner arrived - early too, he was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He did a thorough examination of our basement, front deck and kitchen. Along with tons of acorns, we discovered mice droppings. . At this point I'm ready to just move. Poison traps were strategically placed throughout our basement and kitchen. They actually aren't traps but containers for the poison packets. Reed (cannot remember his first name) will return and check the containers within a week. We are guaranteed treatment until the problem is eradicated. In all, it was seven containers and an inspection for $125.00. The other estimate from his competitor was $875, plus they said we had termites, which we know for a fact we don't. Reeds also confirmed he saw no signs of termites. Overall, we're satisfied and think the price was reasonable. And another plus, there is currently a Yelp deal available. Our cost was less than the deal so we were unable to use the special. So for knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy service I'd recommend Reeds. In addition I think it's nice supporting small businesses. Another plus, is his truck is unmarked, no big roach or bedbug gracing the hood or doors of his truck! My neighbors are already wondering what's going on over here with a dumpster piled high and contractors in and out. You know, a there goes the neighborhood type deal going on over here. So for now I'm waiting patiently and watching for little dead carcasses to start appearing throughout my house.

After discovering animal droppings in the basement, we realized that we could no longer pretend…read morethat the intermittent noises coming from down below were just the creaking of an old house. We had to face the facts: there was an animal down there. So we called SCRAM, which is affiliated with the Ohio Wildlife Center, and which supports the Center's overall mission. Their focus is not just on removing an animal, but in solving your overall problem and making sure that nothing gets back in. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time. The inspection was professional and thorough. The basement, exterior, roof, and attic were all inspected for possible points of entry. Our inspector was courteous and helpful throughout. He answered all my questions and was clearly knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Great service and you help support a great mission!

After the neighboring property burnt down and firefighters had to damage our existing fence, they built a beautiful new length of fence in less-than-ideal ground conditions--big rocks, building debris, a concrete pad, broken portions of old fence... Workmanship perfect, timing amazing, friendly, courteous staff, utmost care in the job they did. Above and beyond overall!

I reached out to Tim McCord, explained my situation, and was blessed to have him come over within hours to assess the situation. Tim toured the site with me, listened to my vision, and, genuinely, provided a very 'human' sense of understanding to a man who was heated about what the neighbor had done. I knew that a fence was the best way to address the 'gaping wound'--and Tim's empathetic demeanor helped me to relax and look toward a positive resolve. I was doubly encouraged that HE sensed the urgency and made the project a priority. This morning (just a couple days later) David and Austin arrived with the supplies to put up a 20-foot length of privacy fence. I felt like it mattered to these guys that I not only had a fence but that I had the integrity of that portion of my yard restored. They worked expediently and with integrity, discussing my concerns and stewarding them thoughtfully. It was evident they understood the stress the neighbor had caused and were invested in helping me restore peace to the situation. I actually sat down to have lunch with the guys when the work was done and discussed other projects. David was great in helping me understand more about the company, to affirm how much respect people have for Tim, and to make me feel completely confident that, when other landscape needs arise, I will 100% call McCord.
