This company as a whole minus their credit department (Candace) is usually ok. This lady cannot perform her appointed job correctly. She continuously closes accounts, "on accident " she cannot correctly receive or record payments properly. She even held a cash payment for 10 days??? What's that about. Every time I send one of my guys in it's a 2 to 4 hour ordeal to pickup a few hundred dollars in wood. I've spoke to others about this and I guess I'm not alone. This cancer must be dealt with asap they are losing customers and that sucks because it's a very convenient yard to go to. Came here to buy 12 2x4s. Everything was a mess. I asked 3 employees where the good undamaged stuff is. Not a single good responds. Mostly shrugs with no real answer. I miss when this was just Meeks. They had better products, better employees, and the yard was orderly and I was able to find undamaged product that was actually quality. I left without buying any 2x4s. Bought my deck framing, decking, and railing from Homewood 4 years back. Great company to work with, very knowledgeable about their products. Spent a ton of money there, happily. Needed to add some railing to my front deck and wanted to match the railing from the back. Took the old invoice with me, asked for them to order me the same for the front. What I was sent was not even the same size for some of the parts. I downloaded direct from the railing manufacturers website the product data forms. There were many options that I was told in the store were not even available. Took everything back with a detailed list of exactly what I needed with the manufacturers part numbers. Waited several weeks, with me checking in every few days about a new quote and the status of my refund. Eventually was told that the refund would happen but I was charged $225 for re-stocking (even though most of the incorrect items were ordered wrong or misrepresented by Homewood) and that they had never worked up a new quote, even though I gave them the manufacturers parts numbers. So in the end, a month later, 8+ hours of my time, and less $225.....I have no railing. What a terrible company. Used to be great, man have they fallen down flat on their face. I will take my business elsewhere. Never again. read more

I try to support this local business. Needing a bunch of supplies, I stopped here first. Today is 6/26/20. On 6/18/20 CA's governor mandated face masks for anyone in public and for all employees of businesses that require serving customers. Meek's falls into this category as they are serving customers. This requirement is based on science and is being enforced by Cal/OSHA as well. Not a single employee I saw today in Meek's had a face mask on. Also, not a single customer had a face mask on. I'm not sure if this store is boycotting face masks, but I can't support a business willingly sharing the coronavirus during a global pandemic. Go to Home Depot!!! I went to Homewood this morning out of convenience. I was instantly reminded why I don't shop there. Customer service is non existent. Products are chintzy and over priced. I needed a simple box of 3 in screws. I stood in line for 20 minutes while one cashier was having a discussion about nothing with a customer while the only other cashier allowed a person to ask about deck products. Instead of referring him to an associate on the floor, in the decking department, they thumbed through brochures together, cashier made phone calls on his behalf instead of ringing up purchases. That's the last time. Only 2 cashiers, both having "Hen Parties," with every customer, holding up my project??? No Thank You!!! I'll drive the extra 5 miles, in the opposite direction to Home Depot, from now on. Much more efficient. read more

I like this store. Always friendly and eager to help me find what I need. Some things are no doubt priced above the box stores, but you might be surprised by what's not. They have a great selection of bolts and hardware, most of it cheaper than Home Depot. Few weeks ago, I needed a key made and was headed to Wally for the $4 version of what I expected Meek's would sell my for $6-8. Short on time, I opted to pay more and just popped into Meeks as I drove by. To my surprise, the duplicated key was only $2 and I bought 4 little color coded key organizers with hooks for just $.30 each. And surprise, unlike Walmart keys, this one worked perfectly. A cashier at the end of the counter was using profanity while people are waiting to be checked out. The other cashier was trying to give me her phone number it's just a really uncomfortable environment. Do not recommend. I'd rather drive the extra 15 minutes to the Lowe's in Roseville then go to Meeks. read more

I didn't want to give one star! I'm feeling so disgusted with Meek's from the ground up.I am seriously thinking about picketing there store in Rocklin California and I'm going to tell you why.-O.K. Here I go -Our family lives in Loomis California not far from their Rocklin location .My husband has shopped with them for years and has always recommend them to others and preferred to buy his lumber there for business and home projects.As a matter of fact our nabber also works for them and was Pleased to see a friendly face when we bought our (Loomis fixer upper.)We were renting in Loomis for years due to losing everything after the economy down fall and our son at the time needed brain surgery .I am glade to report my son is doing well and thriving today(Thank you GOD)! Sorry for my ramble.We have as a family been fixing this house up to be our forever home.My son and husband has worked so hard on it and they have made this house our home. We had completely gutted and remodeled our kitchen with clearance prices and items.And we needed a 50 foot ice maker line to hook up from the refrigerator to the sink.My husband and son couldn't not find one that would work and at the common places ...So they went to Meek's for help wanted and surprise me with ice from the ice maker...A Meeks employee (Bruce)helped my husband with a new ice maker water line and assured him that event though it t wasn't made for a ice maker it was safe to use and should be much better than what he was looking for......The water line was installed on Friday and this is what Sunday looked like!Trust me I have lots of pics! O.M.Gosh! -2nd half of it: I Facebook message them and sent photos to regional manager and store managers.!! I got A sorry from the Facebook page and NO response from anyone else! Not event a discount for repairs ,help offered,or a refund on the water line that destroyed my home.Our Family is in tears! We have saved all year to go on Vacation at the end of this month and we are so overwhelmed with all the emotional damage,cost,and work. Would give this place zero stars if possible. I don't even know where to begin cause the entire process from start to finish was awful!! We ordered floors and trim but to sum it up...my husband called for DAYS and spent hours on the phone only to find out that we had to go in to place any sort of order. Annoying but whatever, we went in. The manager told my husband to take his business elsewhere if he didn't like it. Called asking questions about baseboard we needed 3 different times and got three different sets of information....all wrong (ended up getting it at Home Depot cause it was so ridiculous. Gave Brian (the door guy) the exact needs from the contractor, written out, with photos of existing doors and the side the handle should go on and the direction they should open (I mean, he had a plethora of information) and he got it all wrong!! The handle holes were on the wrong side, doors pulled open instead of pushed. I mean, a complete joke. We had to spend more money on framing material so our contractor could recut and get everything flipped around!! Absolutely no reason to even bother with calling to complain as we already know the manager isn't going to do anything for us. DO NOT USE THEM if possible, go anywhere else! Seriously anywhere else, you will not be happy with this company! Sucks they are the main company to get lumber in the area, cause they definitely know it and don't do anything to make the customer happy. read more

Went there today to pay for the lumber for my new house addition. their staff are some of the nicest people ever. They were always cracking jokes and having fun with customers. I could tell they all love their job. It's a very close knit community. Not to mention they immediately knew who we were when we walked in. Most definitely going again! read more

Meeks has always been great. Super friendly and very helpful staff. I do quite a bit of moulding work and they have the best prices in town. And if they don't have it they will order and get it within a day or two. read more

Meeks Rocklin caters to Contractors. Not home DYI friendly. Takes decades to get power tool assistance. I kept trying to support this local store but realized it was pointless as I experienced this issue on numerous occassions. read more

Ok if anybody ever complains that all of the old lumber yards are gone you can tell them it was because they operated like Meeks in Rocklin. If you are in a hurry or just need to ring something up real quick this is not the place. Over and over again they just cannot efficiently get people on their way. Today one person at the front desk, it's noonish, that's fine and one customer waiting to ring out as I walk up. The "cashier" is looking up an order in a binder as customers wait to give him money. Another employee calls the first customer over to the pro-counter and starts ringing him up. I am now the person up. The "cashier" says he's busy working on this order for another customer I'll be right with you. I've been stuck at Meeks before so I do lack patience for them and tell him I'm busy working on something as well. He returns to his binder. Another employee walks up and asks if I found everything ok I say yes. He leaves. Moments later I make the decision to pay less money for what I have in the basket, put my goods on the counter and spend an extra hour driving to and from Home Depot. Too bad really it's nice to have a local lumber yard/hardware store. read more
