Royal Renovators - The Royal Renovators crew in action, working hard removing debris - Royal Renovators Inc.

The first heavy storm after our roof replacement happened sooner than I would have preferred, but…read moreit ended up being a good test. The new roof handled it without any water entering the building. Before replacement, the surface had blisters, cracked seams, and several areas that held water. We reviewed repair and replacement options, and the condition of the insulation made replacement the more sensible choice. The old layers were removed down to the wood deck. Most of the wood was sound, although several boards near the front parapet needed to be replaced. A self-adhered modified-bitumen system was installed over new insulation and a cover board. The chimney flashing, plumbing vents, and roof hatch were all completed individually. Additional taper was used near the rear drain to improve water flow. The Royal Renovators Inc. crew protected the front planting area and used the rear access for debris. We found a few scraps of membrane near the neighboring fence after completion, but they returned and picked them up the next morning. The final documents included photos, material information, and the written warranty. Months later, the roof is still draining well and the interior stains have not returned.

The roof on one my buildings had reached the point where the frequency of repairs were becoming…read more.. exponentially more frequent. So, it was time -- full roof replacement. Since the building is both commercial and residiential, one of the biggest concerns was minimizing disruption to tenants, and of course keeping everything on budget and organized. From the start, Royal Renovators seemed to understand these concerns and put together a plan that worked around the building's daily operations. The existing roof was removed, damaged areas were addressed/fized, and a new roofing system was installed along with snazzy updated flashing and drainage improvements. Communication throughout the project was - chefs kiss - and we always knew what stage things were in. As expected, there were additional conditions unconvered that needed to be addressed. But, these guys were transparent about it, laid out the options like they did before, and it didnt turn into pressure or surprises. What stood out was how transparent they were when additional conditions were uncovered. Every decision was discussed beforehand and documented with photos. In the end, the new roof was completed on time, and is performing exactly as expected.

I recently had A1 Gutters and Roofing replace my roof, and I couldn't be happier with the results…read more I found them online and got quotes from six different contractors, but I didn't choose A1 because they were the cheapest -- I chose them because of their thoroughness and professionalism. Before starting the job, they conducted a detailed evaluation of the roof and did the same once the work was complete, to make sure everything was done right from start to finish. They also brought in a licensed electrician to properly disconnect and reinstall my solar panels, and thoroughly tested them afterward to confirm everything was working correctly. In addition to the roof, they rebuilt my chimney and installed beautiful new 6" gutters -- the whole property looks fantastic. What really stood out was how flexible and fair they were during negotiations. We worked together to agree on a contract that worked for both of us, including a 50-year extended material warranty and a 25-year workmanship warranty. On top of that, they went above and beyond and threw in an extra item as a gift, which I really wasn't expecting. A1 Gutters and Roofing is professional, skilled, and honest from start to finish. I highly recommend them -- give them a call; you won't be disappointed!

With so many roofers and contractors in existence it's difficult to find one that can do the work…read morein a competent and reliable manner. One may expect such work to be costly, but so be it. A1 Gutter and Roofing in Garfield, NJ is no exception. So too have we heard and, perhaps, experienced some dishonesty among this lot. So it is significant when one discovers a contractor who is legit, trustworthy, and highly professional. Having to replace an entire roof including structural repairs of its wooden beams, new insulation, and re-bricking of the upper portion of the chimney was a major undertaking. The entire project took two weeks. It's impossible to describe just how well this job was accomplished. Picture may do it some justice. Overall, this customer is pleased beyond measure. What a relief!

UPDATE: After my review, the owner emailed me. He did not answer a single one of the many defects…read more Instead, he accused me of using a higher than real amount invoice for an insurance claim. Here is the invoice story. We paid in full on September 20, 2024 -- $45,700 in total, on a signed contract of $26,700 ,and asked for the invoice the same day. For two weeks I followed up more than ten times, by phone and text. Nothing. When something finally arrived, on October 2, it was not an invoice. It was an "estimate" for $50,000 -- more than I had paid. I rejected it in writing that same morning and demanded an invoice for exactly $45,700, "without any discrepancies." Accusing a customer of insurance fraud, in writing, without a shred of evidence, is a serious thing to do. I have kept that email, and every other email and text between us. In two years of emails, he has never once signed his own name, not even on the email accusing me of fraud. New discovery: more than one independent GAF Master Elite roofers have inspected this roof since. The deck feels soft underfoot. The old deck he tore out was five-ply wood that came off in whole, solid sheets; it did not need replacing. His own paperwork promised new plywood "same size." What he installed is the cheapest grade of CDX, stamped 15/32 of an inch -- a half-inch-class panel full of knots and voids where the inspector says a roof like this should have 5/8. Premium price. Lowest-grade material. Not the size his own paper promised. 0 star. Prestige Roofing & Construction replaced our roof in August 2024, full plywood deck replacement included, for $45700 -- with a 5-year workmanship warranty. Our contact throughout was Adrian Brati the owner who seemed reasonable at first and won our trust. The agreed price was in the $20,000s. First day after opening only one section of the roof deck, we were pressured at our door to replace all of the plywood -- without the rest of the roof ever being opened for inspection. The total jumped to $45,700. Under New Jersey's home improvement rules, any change to the price or scope of work must be put in a written change order signed by both parties -- we never signed one. Around the same time, I learned that the decades of company history we had been told about did not check out: the company had been registered only months before our project. A bit over a year later, the roof started leaking during rain -- repeated water intrusion in two rooms: water dripping from the living room ceiling, caught with a bucket, and water stains spreading on the ceiling above the dining room. We reported it with photos and video. The problems persist, after light rain, water visibly ponds around the dormer base-there is no cricket, so the dormer sits in standing water. Their patch changed nothing about that. In October 2026, in a preliminary inspection, an independent GAF Master Elite-certified roofer documented: Splits in the membrane itself, membrane delaminating and peeling at the edges, no cricket behind the dormer or chimney so water ponds with nowhere to drain, failing sealant around the skylight and window frames, and rotted wood patched over with caulk instead of proper flashing. I have photos and video of all of it. Meanwhile, Prestige keeps saying they need to "investigate." Five months after the first leak report and two patch visits later, there are still no written findings and no permanent repair. I sent five specific technical questions in writing on October 14; as of today there are no written answers -- only "we'll call Monday to schedule another inspection."

They are large enough for office staff, sales teams, work teams and site supervisors. If I had a smaller job in mind that might not have mattered to me but when I do a large job I like a company with support staff. (For me, two talented guys in a van and a wife who answers the phone is just fine for most work). I can attest they do upsell but I had no work done I did not need. I had made an effort to research roofing and gutter materials beforehand. I strongly advise interviewing other roofing/ gutter companies first and asking questions about installation and what *exact* materials they will use. Dior will send out a salesperson who will review the work you want done and the materials they will use. I was offered a discounted price for making my decision the same day and would not have felt comfortable accepting that discount if I had not spoken to several other vendors first. I don't like to make that kind of decision under pressure. I had looked at Dior because my usual preferred vendor would not install any shingles to replace those that might break when they removed them to install flashing up the sides where different roofline levels met. Dior will work with siding shingles as well as other siding. My site supervisor came each day, reviewed the job when it was done and sent a crew back for a minor adjustment. My only complaint was with the container company that drove over my lawn and sidewalk, cracking the blue stone sidewalk and leaving a tire impression in the lawn.

Do not hire this company. I had them install a brand new roof about six years ago almost…read moreimmediately it started leaking. I had so much water damage in my home. I called them twice put in the first claim they came out and told me it wasn't the roof. They said it was most likely a plumbing leak. I had a plumber come out. They told me it was not. I called Dior again. They came out a second time took a few photos and again assured me it wasn't the roof and this time it was my Windows had all the windows replaced now. I am thousands of dollars into unnecessary renovations to my home and years into trying to troubleshoot this problem I had a contractor come in and assured me it was my roof and showed me where the installation was botched and where the water was coming from called Dior again they were supposed to come out on Friday morning at 10 AM they never showed they never called. I repeatedly called the company and got no answer until I finally used the prompt that said I would like a quote on a new roof not to my surprise. Someone answered that call when I told them what was going on that no one showed up they said someone would call me back a few hours later. Somebody finally called me back and although they were apologetic for not showing up, they blamed it on too. Many people had called out that day, and they clearly didn't have the time to call me to cancel my appointment and when I told them that I work at night and specifically woke up in the morning to let them in his response was I've already apologized to you. What else would you like me to do? When they finally did come the following Tuesday, they found them. In fact it was the roof that was leaking this entire time and they tried to blame it on my siding. They refuse to take responsibility that the installation was their error and when I told them that I have bad damage in a room to my home and what they planned on doing about it they told me that they were being nice by coming to repair the roof and that inside damage wasn't under the warranty that I paid for which brings me to my second point don't buy their warranties that they're a scam. I am now left with a ton of damage from their negligence while I was diligent into letting them know it was a roofing problem, and they continued to deny it. They have finally fixed the problem which one of their employees showed me exactly what it was and it was in fact, a mishandling of installing the roof that I paid in full for when I asked them what they planned on doing about the damage in my home they told me to put in a homeowners insurance claim homeowners will not cover this and even if they did, I still have a deductible. I would not recommend this company they have told me that they're sending my concerns to someone to address and they would be back to me this week. It is now Friday and I still have not heard from anybody. They have horrible customer service. Their installations are negligent at best and they will leave you in a disaster and a mess.

He came out the same day I called, got up on the roof, and showed me the old membrane along the parapet walls was peeling off, letting water in behind it. That explained the leak. Hugh was honest and easy to deal with, and answered all my questions over text. Once he saw how bad the roof was, he prioritized fitting me in earlier than usual. The job was done just 5 days after the inspection, even with a skylight that had to be special ordered. Jorge and his crew did the work. They showed up at 8:30am and worked until 7:20pm to finish in one day. Jorge was friendly and happy to answer questions, and even after such a long day they took time to inspect everything and cleaned up after themselves. They replaced the roofing, installed the new skylight, replaced the rear gutter, and removed the old barbed wire. Price was fair for the amount of work and how fast they got it done. Two weeks and some rain later, no leaks. Everything looks good, and it's a relief knowing my parents don't have to worry every time it rains. Thanks Hugh, Jorge, and the crew!
