A few minutes later another female employee approached me with an offer of assistance however she too was NOT wearing a mask, nor practiced social distancing. The staffs lax attitude towards the safety of my health and many other mask wearing customers is sufficient reason for me to drive by this establishment and give my business to the big box store further east on M55. I have always tried to support small businesses, however there is a limit to my willingness as I am practicing safe measures to avoid becoming ill during the pandemic.

Great people who know every item in this store and are happy to help you find some odd sized chrome screw or a paint for vinyl. They not only can find it, they have it to find. This 5 minute drive saves the big drive to the nearest box store. More than once the box store did not have what I needed and the store worker says I should try the 'other' hardware store. And they were right. Now I start here and save myself time, money and frustration. You would ot think that you could get excited about a hardware store but when in need this is a great resource in the neighborhood!

I returned in the afternoon, when I walked in I was given a dirty look by Jim and asked were I buy my paint. Insinuating he didn't want to help me because I don't buy paint there or spend enough money there. After an argument he reluctantly helped me. I tried to smooth things over and explain to him that we do buy items from the store just not paint and that we even have an account set up there. Jim's response was well use it then and not in a nice way. I don't go in there daily but I go in there enough to know that his name is Jim and the owners name is Bob. Obviously we will never use this hardware store again in the future.

This one is still in Roscommon county but is on the way to Higgins lake. By far the BEST against the others I mentioned. Not only are the hardware and home improvement sections larger but there's also a great selection of gardening, camping, fishing and beach equipment! So literally the selection caters to all Higgins lake and KOA visitors in the area! The website gave me a lot of trouble, so I called the store directly and placed my order. Again, they were very helpful and my order was completed quickly. The only drawback is that their prices are high, but I have to take into consideration that this store is in a rather remote area and it saves me a drive to Midland or Mt. Pleasant.
