We reside 2+ hours away in Sterling Heights so I was happy we decided to make a pit-stop to this fascinating store. The store is right off of Hwy 20/Isabella; they are next to a store called the Merchandise Outlet. There is plenty of room for parking. Lots to look at! There are multiple vendors with a wide variety of items. Overall prices were reasonable. The isles were clean and well put together. I pushed my mom in her wheelchair and we fit nicely in-between the isles. There were two employees on site, they were friendly and knowledgeable. What you aren't paying for is great service, unfortunately. During our visit, we needed a case unlocked to check a price. When we finally were able to find someone to help, she said she'd be right with us. Fifteen minutes later, we were still waiting. And it took another ten minutes of walking the store to find someone else...who made the same promise and then walked away. Finally, the original woman showed up. We waited literally 25 minutes to get a case unlocked! (And yes we debated multiple times about just leaving; we would have if we weren't so interested in the item.) Hopefully this was just a bad day for customer service and they can actually do better. (It was only our second visit, so I don't know how typical it was.)

Charge way to much to get in, even charged for the driver of a show car. Fewer vendors each year as this once great show dies slowly like a fish out of water. The entire fairgrounds used to get filled with vendors, now less than 1/2 full. I realize Midland County most likely has raised the cost to rent the grounds, but at what cost to the show quality and numbers? I had enjoyed this show for decades, back when the flea market was big, the food vendors were all over, and you had a good car show and sales lot. NOT anymore. R.I.P. MI Antique Fest

Plus, I was surprised with a free ticket to get in the next day. $10 is a deal for shopping, being outside in a beautiful park, good food and getting back to normal. I love a company that gives back to their community! Also, I bought a very cool dresser and some heavy glass and a very handsome fireman assisted me with getting it back to my vehicle. We felt we had gone to every single antique shop and thrift store in Houghton Lake area but somehow…read moremissed this one because you turn left onto 55 off of M 18 towards 75 as opposed to turning right going through Prudenville into Houghton Lake. Easy to miss but DONT. This is an incredibly organized merchandised and clean building. The staff is so warm and sweet, small talk at check out was so natural and positive. Soft lines (apparel, footwear, linens, pillow) is on the right side. The middle section that connects the two buildings was the fragile items.. glassware, candles, glass home decor. Then the left side was everything else! Everything is so well laid out which isn't the typical for a thrift store. The furniture is all in great shape and priced to value. Seems they filter donations in a way. Tons of Disney movies and outdoor sports gear... clothing was blanket priced (I.E. all ladies tops $2 all men's pants $3 for example) unless otherwise signed or marked. Got some great stuff today!

While dropping off a bag of donated garment, I was approached by a rude and obnoxious employee that insisted on yelling at me for dropping the bag in the wrong bin (an honest mistake). She insisted on being extremely combative with me even though I told her I wasn't sure where the proper drop off was supposed to be. She was extremely rude and had no remorse for her terrible attitude. I treat people with respect, and I would hope that someone in customer service would do the same, especially when someone is trying to donate to charity. I hope this employee eventually understands that a little kindness can go a long way. Again, thank you Amy for your help in settling an uncomfortable situation. Bob
