Marshalls & HomeGoods is a great place to find all kinds of necessities for your home and your wardrobe. This particular location in Wethersfield is a really large store. They have all kinds of pumpkins and fall decor right now. They also have rugs, indoor and outdoor furniture, men's, women's and children's clothing items, and all kinds of other odds and ends. The problem I have with this location, is the wait to check out. The line can spin around the whole store, and this is a big store. It often has me wondering "do I really, really want this thing?" that's making me stay in this long line... Last night it wasn't particularly busy, but I still waited over a half hour in line to pay for my one item. The wait can be really bad if it's the Christmas season. Besides the wait this store will have some great furniture pieces, that may be worth the long wait. read more

This store has an outstanding selection of products, but the checkout line is BEYOND ridiculous! They never have enough cashiers working and it takes forever to get through the long line to pay for your items. They have many people working there which I often see just standing around doing close to nothing...one would think they could have more people working on the cash registers. I can't tell you the number of times I have left after standing on the line for over 20 minutes. It is the same scenario every time I go! It's a shame they don't fix this problem! read more

Wow. Blown away. This store has got everything, and a lot of it is really tasteful and amazingly priced. Some of the shelves take some digging to find all the treasures, but it's worth it. For example, they have 3 aisles of picture frames, so you're bound to find the style and size you need. Pantry/kitchen items are also in abundance. Absolutely the best mashup that could have happened. HomeGoods and Marshalls together was a great idea. You could shop for your clothes, slippers & luggage and you could go to the other side and grab things for your house, coffee or even a chair that's unique. I always find the spices I need here and they have a great selection of blankets at a good price that's what I got today. Everything is clean and spread out so it's not too overwhelming. Don't buy beauty products here!!!! Recently I bought an eye shadow palette from Marshall's. I went home and immediately checked the reviews for it because I didn't have phone service in the store. The reviews weren't what I was hoping for, so yesterday I went to this Marshall's to return it. The lady (it might have been the manager) said that I was not able to return it because it had been "used." I explained to her that it was never even taken out of my Marshall's bag, and that I had never opened the product. She pointed to a tiny smudge that I could barely even see and insisted that I had used the product. I assured her that they sold it to me that way and that most of their beauty products are tampered with... which is why there was a smudge. She continued to tell me that all of the products they sell are in perfect condition and that mine was not. The pictures attached show the broken palettes they are selling in the store vs my brand new palette they claimed was used. I feel bad for the next customer that accidentally buys these products without unwrapping the packaging to find that they are broken because this Marshall's will claim it's your fault. read more

They have a good selection at this store. Again, I think these stores go through waves of having great stuff and having times of not having the greatest selection, but this is a good time for them. I love this homegoods because it's attached to a Marshall's, so you don't even have to leave. Their shoe department is lacking right now, but I really like the clothing department especially for sweaters. So I would say it needs improvement on the shoes. I didn't take a long time to look around the homegoods. But it's such a massive store. I feel like they have had cuter stuff in the clothing department before, so that's why I've rated this a 4. read more

What a joke this store has become. They've turned the clothing section into every other Marshalls at least for men. If you want non-stop Michael Korrs and Tommy Hilfiger this is your place. I remember when they had a featured designer section in front with stuff like Diesel, Prada, D&G and I once even scored a pair of Dsquared2 jeans here. The best I could find tonight was Hudson and some random Theory stuff covered in dust. La dee da. Oh they had one pair of ghastly Hogan sneakers size 8 in pea green if you're looking. The TJMaxx near where I live was at least was stocked up on Dunhill mens clothing when I was there last. Write this one off as a good Marshalls for men's clothing. There were a bunch of suits walking around so the staff were hopping. I'm not sure if that's the norm. They had a lot of summer seasonal items available. We came here yesterday (Sunday) as it's our hobby to stop at ALL Homegoods when we are out road tripping or visiting states we aren't from. This Homegoods is pretty small compared to the ones we are used to- The store itself was super crowded and messy. I found a discontinued DW candle which was exciting and a 15 lb slab of selenite for 29.99 ( that was a deal) The check out line we waited in was wrapped all the way around into the entrance area- They had almost all the registers open- Just super slow at the register for some reason. When my boyfriend and I moved in together, we made many trips here to channel our inner Nate Berkus...lol! I'm really reviewing the Home Goods portion. This place proves that home decor can be inexpensive without compromising styles. There are always new merchandise coming in. My recommendation is to buy something when you see it because I can guarantee you it will not be there the next time. You can even do all you decorating shopping there, which will save you even more money in gas. There's even cool and funky furniture you can buy! It's the best of both stores crammed into one second-market megaplex. Or perhaps it should just be called "HomeGoods." Not that a few cheap pairs of pants isn't nice to find now and then, but the real allure here is not the clothing section, it's the surprisingly high quality stuff in the Home Decor section... We got some great stuff today. A pair of super classy lamps that go great in our bedroom, a nice tote basket for holding all the crap my girlfriend would otherwise throw on the bedroom floor ;), and some professional kitchen stuff, all at good to excellent prices. I will echo the sentiments of others: If you're here on a weekend, cancel your brunch plans, because good heavens are the lines long. We musta stood on line for 10 minutes, which is kind of absurd for the type of store this is. Then again, this may speak to just how well stocked and popular they are... Ok. I've reviewed this place before obviously but I have to make an update because I have to applaud this store. Today I went here and found they have carved out a special area for "Women's sizes". Not just a rack towards the back between "active wear" and "clearance" but a real area-just for us. This new area is in the back next to the dressing rooms, it has three rows and even a few displays and a wall display. To me, this is a step forward and I wanted to voice my appreciation. I know this wasn't a corporate idea because I go to three Marshall's in the area on a regular basis and have only seen this here. So to the assistant manager who fought to build this--thank you. And to her doubtful supervisor: I spent $80 in that section today. read more

They do have a wide selection of household "goodies" to select from here, so I will definitely give then that point in their favor. In fact, I was able to find a brand new set of tableware, (matching cups, plates and bowl)s for a pretty good price, and also in a color that is not always the easiest to find. I also liked their selection of decorative pillows, but since I already have enough I just stuck with the dinnerware for today. So the deals here are very good, especially when theyre on clearance. Now, for what needs to improve: First, it is very disorganized here. You really have to know exactly what your looking for - and where to look for it, or you will be in here for hours. (OK, not hours literally, but you get the point..) Also, a lot of the merchandise is not always neatly arranged so that can be even more of a challenge to find things. I don't think it is even because the store is so busy that they just haven't gotten around to it yet. I've been in this Marshall location a few times, and every time I go in, it just doesn't seem to be very organized or neat. Some days are cleaner/neater then others but in general the store does not always make a good presentation. The part that really makes me down grade them two whole stars was the front entrance way into the store. I know it is still winter, but come on! You still need to salt the walk way into your store so customers don't slip, which I almost did today. I wasn't in one of my "famous" (according to my husband, lol) complaining moods today so I did not make to big of a deal out of it. I did mention something to one of the cashiers and she did apologize on the store's behalf which is nice. Still, if they read and review their Yelp reviews here like some businesess do then hopefully they will make note of it and make sure the walkways are de-iced and salted in the future. Overall, I would say this is just an okay store, nothing to really write home about however. I'm feeling kind of generous today, so I will stretch a 3-star rating, but that is really stretching it. The icy walk ways alone should technically be enough to make it a 2-star, or maybe even a 1 star next time, but hopefully that will not be the case. read more

Went there in October and the beginning of November and the place was a dump. Hard to move around without knocking things off shelves if you have a shopping cart. There was merchandise all over the floors and shopping carts full of stuff just placed in areas that obviously needed to be put back but just hadn't. Since merchandise fell off shelves or got kicked from being the floor I found much of the merchandise to be damaged that was up on the shelves. The bathrooms were also filthy and only for one person at a time which considering the size is ridiculous. I also found that there were many employees passing me that were not doing anything obvious - like picking things up etc. I rather go to a stand alone Marshalls or Homegoods from now on cause this store doesn't seem to be able to handle the size and merchandise that is there. read more

HomeGoods: 4 stars. Holy guacamole! So much selection, so much inspiration! I could spend hours in this end of the store!! They have so many great ideas, good deals, and fresh items on a regular basis! This a must-stop for those furnishing a new place or sending a kid off to college. Marshall's: 2 stars. While there is significant square footage dedicated to this side of their store, the layout was not logical, the selection was bleh, and it overall wasn't that inspiring. Other locations in the area, like Marshall's in Bishop's Corner have much better displays and selection. When I visited, it was boring at best. HomeGoods wins! read more

One of my favorite places to shop. They have everything and carry designers. This location is a Marshalls and Homegoods combined, so there is something for everybody here. They have plenty of furniture to choose from, but you have to grab it right away, as they don't last long. Shoes, suits, clothes they have a great selection. They offer layaway but not on very large items or breakable items. The fee I believe it $10, but if you want something and you know it will be gone tomorrow then this might be an option. They only downfall is the children's selection. It used to be larger but now it is limited. Overall this is a great Marshall's to shop in. read more

It seems to be a lot less about clothing and more about home furnishing and kitchen items. That's fine. I recently had some time to shop without children, which never happens. And I needed an assortment of things for myself, family and gifts. I left with four pairs of tights (including fleece lined leggings - I didn't know these existed!), a Calvin Klein hat, a Steve Madden belt, three bras, Godiva chocolate, and Bentley's tea for less than $100. They have a large shoe section, and I could have spent a lot more time in the Home Goods side of the store. Definitely a place to go to peruse when you need a few things. read more

I usually love this store, but I was there last night and they were rushing me out of the store so badly I couldn't even think. The explanation for the poor treatment was that they were getting new registers installed. It was not posted and I felt very rushed. I used to love shopping at Marshall's and have made many purchases - both large amounts and small amounts. While I still enjoy shopping at the store, I just walked out for the 5th time because of the crazy long check out line!!! Each time I had over $50 in purchases in hand. I'm not willing to invest 10-15 minutes waiting in line at 2pm on a Wednesday!! I can't imagine how long the line is on the weekends. This is in the top 5 Marshalls and has a huge Home Goods attached. Always seem to find something I need, although less and less men's shoes is not good. Please to see they have a Big and Tall section, which is hit or miss and getting smaller like their shoes. Home Goods is one of their best too and that combination makes this a place to stop in whenever you pass by. read more

It's easy to think that all Marshalls/Homegoods/TJMaxx stores are the same across the board but I'm rethinking that after my last visit. I was blown away by the selection at the Wethersfield location! I came in the other day to look for some patio furniture and decor and left with WAY too much - clothing, towels, shoes, kitchen stuff - truly an abundance of stuff I never knew I needed (...ok, i don't need any of it). Been here a few times and I like it! Big store with lots of variety. Can get messy/long lines/ very crowded at peak shopping times (Christmas), but what store doesn't. Found a great couch for $250. "Ooooh where did you get those shoes!!" If you want to shop for an eclectic wardrobe without having to pay retail prices this is the store for you. Most people's initial reaction to Marshalls is "Ugggh, I hate to burrow through irregular and ill fitting clothes", but the Mega Marshalls in Wethersfield has turned over a new leaf. They have reorganized and remodeled their store for optimal shopping pleasure. I think you will find the quality of their products to be just as good as any Filene's or Nordstrom's. The major difference being that you don't have to wake up at 5 a.m. to make the early bird special or clip those double discount coupons from the circular in order to get a good deal. Marshall's has blow out sales all the time and on every item written right into their ticket prices. No coupons, no gimmick's, just great prices and great selection :). If you you decide to become a Marshall's guru like myself, I suggest the TJX Visa credit card where you get 5% credit to TJ Max on every purchase you make at Marshalls or it's parent company TJ Max. read more

The LINES, oh my goodness. Always so long. The crowd, SO obnoxious. But I suppose I can't write a review about customers of a store. The products themselves are okay, sometimes I find what I need, other times I do not. I've stopped buying clothing here for the most part, I always seem to find a button missing or a seem un-threading when I get home. The homegoods portion is what I generally come here for. Great deals on accent pillows and throws. Lately, the selection of sheets and duvet covers have been lacking. The furniture tends to be on the cheap side, usually wobbly or a drawer that doesn't open easily. Lamps = plenty, sturdy, and well priced. Candles, notecards, greeting cards, and storage containers are in mass quantities and I've always found what I'm looking for. Overall, I'll continue to shop here. I like to get inside as early as possible (open at 9:30) to avoid the irritating crowds. read more
