For the past 5 years it was used very lightly. Without incident, the frame broke and the cushions are sagging. I went to Southworth's Wayside with the Limited Lifetime warranty in hand. They said that covers only parts and not labor. They sent out a repair man who said it would cost $275 to fix the frame and that the cushions were all "shot". He said that type of cushion only lasts for 2 years. The interior of the couch is constructed out of plywood. I didn't want to dump more money into a poorly constructed couch and asked them to come and take it away for me. ( I literally live 2 miles from them.) They said that would cost me $100. At the price of this couch I expected it to last longer than 5 years! Do not buy furniture from Southworth's Wayside Furniture since they do not standby what they sell.

My experience with them was incredibly frustrating, they were exceptionally rude, and they did not deliver as agreed. I ordered one table and five chairs in February 2021. I was told at the time that four of the chairs were a special order that could not be cancelled, I paid for half of the order up front, and I was told that the full order would be complete in six weeks. After six MONTHS, I had not heard a word from the company, and I tried to cancel the order. They promised that they would have the order finished in 2 weeks, and would waive shipping costs. After another 6 weeks, I again tried to cancel the order, but was told that it was complete and I could not cancel. I offered to LET THEM KEEP a significant portion of the deposit, and cancel the whole order, and they refused (in a unprofessional and extremely rude way). After I realized that I had only agreed not to cancel 4 of the chairs (all of which had been paid for for 8 MONTHS), I told them that I was canceling the table and would take the chairs. I owed them a small amount of money for the fifth chair, which I paid. After not hearing from them for weeks, again, I was asked to provide the same amount of money for the fifth chair. I had to pull up my credit card statement to prove that I had already paid that money. They never even responded to my email with proof of payment, but did send the chairs. When I received the chairs, I realized that they had the wrong stain (we agreed to Harvest stain, chairs were done in Riverton). I emailed to state that they were in the wrong stain, but that I would accept them, and I again never heard back. Bottom line: They promised an order in 6 weeks, took 8 months, were rude about a partial cancellation, tried to get me to pay them twice, and got the order wrong. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

There's an upstairs with a coffee table, a bean bag chair and two chairs (and lots of artists wares for sale on the wall). The sausage I asked for in my Eggs Benny was delicious! They were clearly homemade sausage that had a nice rosemary flavor. We were rather disappointed by the temperament of the person we assumed is the owner... when asked if they would please lower the music a little, because I'm healing from a traumatic brain injury (and it was blasting commercials and music; it wasn't a pleasant music track or album), said with an attitude "Sorry I can't control where the speakers are", and from that point seemed a lot less friendly. Her attitude didn't ruin the taste of the food, but this was a special outing (my first in 3 years since falling on black ice), near Goodspeed Opera House. This is a touristy area and people that run breakfast/brunch spots are usually friendly and eager to help with small requests. Often interactions with the restaurant staff adds greatly to the experience. Her sour grapes and refusal to help me feel comfortable by lowering it a smidge (I was already wearing noise cancelling ear buds, just so you understand how loud it was and that she didn't turn it down even a tiny bit), made breakfast less nice. We won't be returning ~ there are so many restaurants struggling to survive after Covid, we'd rather spend our time and money there.

As they spent time moving furniture to get to boxes up very high and then opening each one, I asked if I could just look real quick so my few items could get pulled. was told no. then instead of apologizing to the growing line , we were told it was hard on them too No mea culpa "sorry we messed up" but instead they're victim too. He said I didn't know what they're going through and I said you don't know what we have gone through either that morning. He said you're just impatient. Yes I was and about to faint on their floor after being told it was 5 minutes 15 minutes ago. I didn't yell or curse How much easier would it have been to say "Sorry everyone, we messed up and have to organize everything, it's going to be at least 20-30 minutes, please come back later or tomorrow, again our utmost apologies" Anyhoos banned me from their website and another one too, long time customer of 10 years spending significant amount of money that helps in retirement. I was at one of first auction ninjas sales 10 years ago where I drove down to Scarsdale and found they had given my lot to another customer. More importantly, when they installed the drapes, one of the trim pieces was frayed at the bottom. It looks like they ran out of trim and tried to make it work. Clearly an incompetent job...designer mismeasured the drape length and the fabrication was botched. Then weeks after our request, the absent designer had her sister show us 5 fabrics, one of which we liked but then it turned out to be out of stock, wasting another week of our time. They may be good but clearly $3-4,000 reupholstery projects are not of interest to them.

Owner graciously met me downstairs, removed item from my car and took the time to inspect the item and point out the "gem" I procured as he compared my lounge to the "prefab won't-last-five-years chaise lounges of today. He asked questions on where the item will be stored (high traffic va low traffic areas of home) and when i answered he provided a plethora of fabrics to consider. Most importantly, he did NOT expect full payment that day! Whew!! What a relief. Starting a new business is expensive so not having to make full payment before work commenced made my day.
