This is my local Homegoods, on 2 occasions I've seen huge MICE, the first time it was around Christmas and I was in the back near receiving a huge mouse ran in the store and TODAY I was near the sheets and comforters a big mouse ran across the isle under the sheets. This was our first visit to a Home Goods store. We needed to buy new lamps for our bedroom nightstand. As we were discussing where we should start looking, Home Goods came up in conversation. Thus, we agreed that since there was one in Herndon, that is where we'll start. Home Goods is one of those places that has an ever-changing selection of items. In other words, you may see an item you like but don't buy it then and there, it may not be there when you return. Upon entering the store, we looked around to get our bearings. I saw a sign for furniture and told my husband that lighting would probably be nearby. That turned out to be correct. They had about three or four aisles of lamps. Much to our surprise, we saw two matching lamps that we both liked. Since we had never shopped here before, I looked for a salesperson to ask how it all worked. Do we take the lamps to the register...or what? She followed me back to the lamps and unplugged them, then put them in our cart. Oh...okay. Now we know, if there's a next time. The cashier was friendly and efficient. So far, we're happy with the new lamps, and we were pleased with the price. We'll have to take the time to explore the whole store to see what else is available. read more

Confronted by associate for training my dog in a dog-friendly store, told to leave because my puppy barked, despite her being a literal puppy and me correcting her in a dog friendly store that i bring to homegoods *exclusively* because they are pet friendly. I felt unwelcome, embarrassed, and like i did something wrong for trying to train my pup somewhere i thought she'd be welcome, as she typically is at other locations. I will not be returning here because of this older male employee. read more

My least favorite Homegoods ever. The store is super cluttered, items are all over the floors, shelves are disorganized and the selection is much smaller than most. I understand that stores get busy and careless customers savagely tear through the shelves but I wouldn't expect the store to be so cluttered on a weekday. Plus no associates could be found through the store when we went. I probably won't return to this location. As a person who has worked in retail before, I just can't stand a cluttered/messy store. ALL I CAN SAY IS CLEARANCE HEAVEN. Almost every aisle end cap is a clearance rack filled with odds and ends. This location is slightly larger than most home goods, but does have a funky/confusing layout. Love the diversity of products and I experienced zero wait time for check out. Some of their sections were a bit cluttered/disorganized, I assumed this was the case because employees were primarily at the front of the store assisting with a speedy checkout. Maybe it's just me but I actually enjoy digging through a cluster of clearance goods to find a gorgeous sign hidden under a door hanger and chipped pot. Anyone else? No? Just me? Okay haha. Not much of an inventory at this location so I was surprised because I know the Fairfax has more. But the staff is pretty helpful. Rows and rows of dishes, decor, holiday stuff, furniture and linens? Sign me up. So excited to have a new Home Goods open in Herndon and have spent much time browsing the aisles and picking up goodies that I may or may not need. Tips: * Get the new rewards card, free of charge and it works at all stores owned by TJMaxx (as is Home Goods) * If you see something you like, grab it. Once I waited a day to go back and buy an area rug, and it was gone. Another - no joke - I had set a large canvas painting at the end of an aisle to walk a good enough distance away and see how it would look from afar. As I'm obviously staring at it, a lady walked right over and picked it up, then argued with me when I explained what I was doing. It's now hanging on my family room wall. * Keep the kids in the cart. I used to go to this Home Goods all the time. I stopped tonight again to look at some Cuisinart pans since I know they have good prices, and I need a roaster pan for Thanksgiving. I looked around and the pots and pans section was an absolute mess. You couldn't even really make out what you were looking at since things were placed topsy turvy everywhere. I checked out the Halloween and Christmas decorations and found the same mess. I also need some wall art for my new house, so I checked that out as well..same thing...things on the floor and face down and backward. It used to be such a nice and neatly kept place to shop. Have you ever seen someone in a crappy mood and just know things are not going to go well? I was there with my children and was parked in the aisle next to them while they looked at toys. I overhead the manager Keisha tell my kids they need to stay with their parent and weren't allowed to play with the toys (?? Ok? I know my kids aren't the first to "touch" toys and I know they weren't shifting merchandise around like crazy). I told my kids not to touch anything since she seemed unusually irritated by their mere existence. I am not that parent who lets their children leave items anywhere or put them out of place so I was a bit bothered by her attitude. I brushed this off and went about my way. She's usually pleasant but I could tell she was very off. I purchased some items for my pet which tore up in minutes after we got home. I called to ask their return policy and was routed to Keisha who said "I have a dog too and she tears things up within minutes too. We can't take them back unless their in good condition." Um ok?? I wouldn't need to return it if it was a quality product, would I? I guess she was having a bad day because she was quite rude and curt regarding both scenarios. It left a bad taste in my mouth. The store itself is ok. It's a bit smallish for their delicate items but I've found decent items there in the past. My dog did vomit on a pack of treats I've bought from there in the past so I might refrain from their dog items from here on out. read more

In the past two weeks, I have been to 3 HomeGoods stores in the Norther Virginia area. In search of some nice things, I always ended up buying more than I really need since they have so much good stuff. I wont say its really high quality, but it isn't really cheap either. The beauty of these stores is that it pretty much has everything you would want or need for your home with pretty good taste. The Herndon location seems a little smaller, or maybe their placement is a little different than the other two. However, I think the manager here is what makes this place a great place to visit. I think her name is Keisha, I dont recall clearly, but it was this past Sunday afternoon. I kept seeing a worker there greeting people, asking how people were doing, smiling, staying busy, and so on. Then before I left, I realized that she was a manager. I walked up to her thanking her for proactive approach to managing. This location benefits tremendously from a store manager like her. It trickles down and sets the tone for what retail is all about. In a world where people have more access and options, I for one like visiting brick and mortar retail especially for the person to person experience. I will definitely be back for cool stuff, and for a great retail shopping environment. I also left the store spending more than I was willing..but seriously, the selection is awesome, and so are the people. read more

It's a good place to shop all the things you need every day except of foods. The prices are discounted and cheap.

This is one of my favorite places to go for household items. It's like a nicer version of other retail stores like Marshall/TJMaxx. Lots of unique items and they are priced really well. This one is relatively new so it's clean and well organized. I'm so glad we have one in the area and don't have to drive all the way to Fairfax. read more

Since Hannah lives nowhere near here this is probably my only chance to be the first to review! Lol! HomeGoods is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to find one off trinkets for my home. I hate when my items look like I bought them from a big box store. But I sure do love a good bargain. They are clearly still working out the kinks as the girls were visibly running around frantic trying to keep the store clean. But that should settle down as the newness wears off in the coming weeks. As you can tell from my photos, I am more than excited to see all of the beautiful pillows they are currently carrying. In fact once I settle on a color for my seat cushions in the dining room, I will certainly be back as they had them for an amazing price. Overall, expect to find some of the same that you would find at a Marshall's or TJ Maxx. But most of the time I find items that are just slightly a little bit better and therefore worth a few extra bucks read more

I frequent Homegoods often but only this particular store if I have to. This one is poorly managed. Each time I've been here there is no one at the register. I don't understand it. This evening I got in line and there was 3 people ahead of me waiting. No cashiers OR employees in sight. We all were confused. Five or so minutes later an employee comes in the store as he was apparently helping someone pack up their car. Then another employee walks in and looks at me. I'm thinking, "awesome now I can go up!" Nope. He just stands at his colleagues register trying to bag the customers two bags of candy.... while there was a massive line. He didn't even think to hop on a register to help. I don't get it. Never coming back to this store again. read more

This store typically has a lot of things in stock which is good. The biggest downfall that this place has is the check out line. They always have only 1 cashier on and the line has to be at least 15 people long for them to call someone else up. Today I ran in to buy a broom and dust pan, one person was in line in front of me and I stood in line for about 7 minutes. Ridiculous!!! read more

Thumbs down when it comes to customer service. I did a pay/hold on a mirror. Called the store to ask that they wrap the mirror before coming back to pick up the mirror. I was told they don't have wrapping for the mirror and suggested I bring blankets. I am appalled- you mean to tell me that you sell delicates and cant properly wrap them to prevent breaking. I will not shop at this location again!!!!! read more

This is a very well stocked Home Goods. The only thing I don't particularly like about it is the set up. There are massive pillars in the middle of the aisles and it makes it very hard to maneuver a cart. Compared to other Home Goods in the area. This one always has full shelves. read more
