But a vivid memory. I remember LOTS OF color and lots of beauty. This store has that too!! There are SO many cute and affordable gifts in this store. I got my son a wooden glider plane because even though he's 10 he still LOVES making paper airplanes and flying them. I also got him a change purse, one of those cute sandwich plastic coin purses we all had as kids that says "candy money." I bought quite a few cards there and I got myself the line a day memory journal, which is the "One Line a Day," for 5 years. For ME. Everything about this store is curated so well. Adults have plenty to choose from: Fred items, funny and kitchy cards and beautiful gifts. They also have so many beautiful tissue papers and gift wraps and bags. Not to mention that the store ITSELF is beautiful! I really need this woman to come and design a space for me. Because it was so beautiful, well curated. Asthetically pleasing, and inviting. I will be back if I'm in NOLA again. Otherwise PLEASE visit this adorable store!!

One day the Pirate says: I'm tired of all this bargain basement, thrift store, upcycled, found on the side of the road crap we have. (maybe he didn't say bargain basement or upcycled, but he was wearing an eye patch....no that's not true....maybe drinking whiskey at 9am? Yep definitely true) I saw a review for this place and popped in one day.......Ohhhhhh.......Ohhhhhhh....... yep I was in furniture store love. It's not cheap, nor is the quality. So the Pirate is tired huh....Well I'm going to get exactly what I want then. Our affair started with several trips to view a davenport, that's what my MamaToo called hers. It needed to double as a sofa and comfortable bed for guests visiting. Davenports tend to have boxy cushions that can be removed revealing a day bed sorta thingy. I went maybe three times over several weeks. It was an investment afterall. Katie was there from the beginning to help, no pressure...take my time...she'd send pricing quotes for different configurations and pictures, did i need a swatch sample? I gave my orange retro couch the old heave ho and passed it on to a herb smoking musician and have never looked back. Next came the side table a few months later Then they had a warehouse sale and we bought a sideboard ( Ohhhhh I love that piece) then another side table for whiskey for the pirate.... a few small gifts for friends over the years from their in-store selection and various pop up shops they host. Katie was my gal.....who put up with my thoughts and hesitation to invest.... never any pressure Then I bought a new dresser (I dragged my old one onto the side of the road, helping a man load it into his truck....hey...why I am loading it.....) and then I bought a slim book case that I had been eyeing for months was snagged at their showroom sale. Of course I needed the nightstand match now....so I bought that. and then one day i looked around and I was finished...no more to buy....no more...nope.... Over the last 3 years I have loved everyone and my darling Katie..... AND then my gal hooked me up for a VIP sale..... probably the best deals ever and since dear Angelique needed a desk, I picked up a desk top and a single chair......and a market umbrella for future festivals and what not. The Pirate doesn't complain anymore, but he still drinks Whiskey at 9am. He is happy with my choices and considers this mid century modern look his now......I need a bigger house or a new studio...sigh tell them CrazyRe' sent you

They didn't have tons of gift items when I was there. But they did have some pretty amazing modern house decor. As befits a store selling modern furnishings everything was clean and well laid out. The store was easy to move around in and everything was clearly marked. The staff seemed to be in a meeting when I arrived (30 minutes before closing) but a salesperson did offer to help me and the one other customer in the store. She checked back in with me while I browsed but was definitely not pushy. I really want/need the copper chair they had on display...but first I'd have to figure out where to put it.

Think of it as an art fair without the pressure--no hovering artists or awkward small talk. Just beautifully displayed works from small, independent makers. It's an introvert's dream and a perfect place to find souvenirs that aren't basic or mass-produced. The selection is incredible: * Handmade jewelry * Local art prints and stickers * Bags, shirts, and fridge magnets * And a constantly rotating mix of other unique finds There's no singular aesthetic or theme, which is part of the charm--you're bound to find something that speaks to you personally. I didn't take any photos out of respect for the artists, but trust me when I say you'll find something special here. Zèle is the kind of place you'll want to keep to yourself, but you also can't help telling everyone about. Whether you're shopping for gifts or just want something more meaningful than a Cafe Du Monde mug, this is the place.

Very cluttered, dirty, things thrown all over, pkgs open and thrown on the floor, you name it! Cashier was super rude as well. Didn't greet me, just hand gestured me to come up. I gave her some change (.75) to deduct before paying with my credit card and she said "thanks" and left the change on top of her register (assuming I gave it to her). I asked her if she was going to deduct it first prior to paying with my CC and she rudely told me that I didn't tell her that. I was like WTF? So she proceeds to tell me that she cannot take change as she doesn't need any so I asked her for 3 quarters instead and she stated that she couldn't give me any. Thank goodness I don't live in the area as I would not frequent this place again.

They have candles, diffusers and all kinds of home smell goods too. I came here for the Blue Elephant yellow curry and found a plethora of other items. I picked up some spices that I watch on many cooking shows. I found harissa, ancho Chile, and Chinese five spice....these are not found in local grocers. I love tea and currently looking for pau d'arco. While I couldn't find it here, there are a variety of other organic herbal teas to choose from. Of course where's there tea, there's coffee and liquor. Thought I'd just slip that in for the drunkards lol. So, heading to the register, I found an area with lots of baking goods. Since I'm learning new baking skills, I picked up some items to test them out. Naturally, homemade is always best but I was curious to see what a double butter pie crust mix entailed, so I got that too. This was my second time here and I actually like this store.
