The DAE Collection - body butter and candles

My friend and I stumbled upon this building while walking through Magazine Street. It's such a beautiful space. It's filled with numerous artists and their work. Jewelry, art work, wood work, soap bars, etc can be found here.

Art on Architectural Salvage by New Orleans artist, Paige DeBell

What an amazing, local arts gallery! The store is huge and overflowing with so much beautiful creativity. Lots of small pieces, great for travelers, it's easy to find a little something to take home. And they ship too. Right on a busy part of Magazine Street, stop in while you are on a walking tour in the area. Zele Nola has been selling my art on architectural salvage here for 7 years, they are fabulous!!

    Cute Beyonce-inspired wine bag!

Very nice market. I was exploring Magazine St. a bit (was in town for a wedding, and my airbnb was nearby) and stopped by here. I bought a print of Bourbon St. (sketch) for about $20 with tax, and I picked up two Beyonce-inspired wine bottle bags for a friend - they say "Okay ladies, now let's get in formation" with a pic of some wine bottles, and I had texted him a picture of it and he immediately had to have it. :) There are a lot of different stalls here from different artisans, and they had a nice collection of things to purchase. I'd definitely come back here when in the area.

I'm so happy this place is on magazine and not royal. We really needed a place 'round here with great local art... and A/C. There is definitely something for everyone here. Whether you're a fan of art deco or art nouveau, you'll appreciate all the artistry here. A limited amount of New Orleans branded shirts and onsies, many many many portraits and paintings, artsy door knobs, jewelry, Nola post cards, glassware, bow ties, lotions, pottery, THERE IS EVERYTHING HERE. I'd recommend any and all tourist to check this place out. You a local and don't fell like sweating at the Dat Dog art market? Then come on down to Zele! Don't appreciate the seven smells of royal street? Come on down to Zele! You won't regret it #Winning #BringYourWallet

I'm upgrading my review to five stars. I think Zèle NOLA is such a creative curation of local makers. I sometimes just like to stop in to see what new artists they have. I think the Quarter has some great stores for travelers to take home New Orleans-esque souvenirs and gifts, but I 100% suggest folks make their way down here to bring home something very genuinely New Orleans and made locally. I also have bought a good bit of gifts here for friends getting married, my landlord, my dad, and some many folks in between. There is a great range in prices so that you can find something special on any budget. The staff has always been very pleasant and helpful, and I will definitely always have Zèle on my holiday or gift shopping rounds.

I need to get this done for my dogs! Looove!

I also got him a change purse, one of those cute sandwich plastic coin purses we all had as kids that says "candy money." I bought quite a few cards there and I got myself the line a day memory journal, which is the "One Line a Day," for 5 years. For ME. Everything about this store is curated so well. One day the Pirate says: I'm tired of all this bargain basement, thrift store, upcycled, found on the side of the road crap we have. (maybe he didn't say bargain basement or upcycled, but he was wearing an eye patch....no that's not true....maybe drinking whiskey at 9am? Yep definitely true) I saw a review for this place and popped in one day.......Ohhhhhh.......Ohhhhhhh....... yep I was in furniture store love. It's not cheap, nor is the quality. So the Pirate is tired huh....Well I'm going to get exactly what I want then. Our affair started with several trips to view a davenport, that's what my MamaToo called hers. It needed to double as a sofa and comfortable bed for guests visiting. Davenports tend to have boxy cushions that can be removed revealing a day bed sorta thingy. I went maybe three times over several weeks. It was an investment afterall. Katie was there from the beginning to help, no pressure...take my time...she'd send pricing quotes for different configurations and pictures, did i need a swatch sample? I gave my orange retro couch the old heave ho and passed it on to a herb smoking musician and have never looked back. Next came the side table a few months later Then they had a warehouse sale and we bought a sideboard ( Ohhhhh I love that piece) then another side table for whiskey for the pirate.... a few small gifts for friends over the years from their in-store selection and various pop up shops they host. Katie was my gal.....who put up with my thoughts and hesitation to invest.... never any pressure Then I bought a new dresser (I dragged my old one onto the side of the road, helping a man load it into his truck....hey...why I am loading it.....) and then I bought a slim book case that I had been eyeing for months was snagged at their showroom sale. Of course I needed the nightstand match now....so I bought that. and then one day i looked around and I was finished...no more to buy....no more...nope.... Over the last 3 years I have loved everyone and my darling Katie..... AND then my gal hooked me up for a VIP sale..... probably the best deals ever and since dear Angelique needed a desk, I picked up a desk top and a single chair......and a market umbrella for future festivals and what not. The Pirate doesn't complain anymore, but he still drinks Whiskey at 9am. He is happy with my choices and considers this mid century modern look his now......I need a bigger house or a new studio...sigh tell them CrazyRe' sent you

They didn't have tons of gift items when I was there. But they did have some pretty amazing modern house decor. As befits a store selling modern furnishings everything was clean and well laid out. The staff seemed to be in a meeting when I arrived (30 minutes before closing) but a salesperson did offer to help me and the one other customer in the store. She checked back in with me while I browsed but was definitely not pushy. I really want/need the copper chair they had on display...but first I'd have to figure out where to put it.
