Disappointing experience…read more Ordered four chandeliers. Two arrived clean and properly packed. Two arrived dusty, dirty, and loosely packed with styrofoam debris -- requiring cleaning before installation (see photos). Delivery also exceeded the advertised 2-3 week timeline by a wide margin. Communication about delays was inconsistent, and responses felt dismissive when concerns were raised. Additionally, the fixtures appear to be sourced from third-party vendors rather than an exclusive in-house collection as implied. For the price point, I expected consistent quality, accurate delivery timelines, and better customer service. Unfortunately, this experience fell well short.

That is completely unacceptable. They also claimed they would cancel the charge to my debit card, yet the payment moved from pending to fully processed. So not only did they refuse to honor the sale, they also failed to return my money as promised. At this point, they are refusing to uphold a completed transaction and are withholding both the item and my payment. That alone should be a major red flag for any customer. To make matters worse, the salesperson openly admitted that everything in the store is marked up at least 50% above retail value because, in their words, "tourists love to haggle." That tells you everything you need to know about how this business operates. This is a company that overcharges customers, does not honor agreed-upon prices, and cannot be trusted to follow through even after taking your money. I strongly recommend avoiding this place entirely.

All these beautiful, iconic lamps are made in the city by Bevolo, which is the oldest and largest manufacturer of these hand-riveted copper lanterns. The company was founded in 1945 by Andrew Bevolo and is still a family-owned business. The copper is mined locally, and each lamp is expertly crafted by hand. You can watch the coppersmiths at work at their showroom located at 318 Royal Street, which is also a museum. Even though the gas lamps are their most popular sellers, they also make chandeliers & sconces. A few years ago, I ordered two of the Original French Quarter lanterns for my home in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, due to earthquakes I wasn't able to install the gas version, so I had to get electric. I was able to find light bulbs that replicate a flickering flame. The salespeople, Kayla Bossi & Brittnee Ulmer were friendly and helpful. My lanterns were carefully packed to protect against damage during shipping. The quality of the craftsmanship is superb. I absolutely love them. They make me smile when I walk in my front door because they remind me of my beloved city, New Orleans, where my heart lives.

This multiroom warehouse offers a plethora of bits and bobs from donated and gathered home improvement wares. One time I picked up an old door, an old timey facet head and some hinges. From these super economical finds, I was able to fabricate a garden gate, using the faucet as a creative spin on a traditional doorknob or latch. I love it. Recently, I eye spied, a partially used tub of tile adhesive and several random tiles. They'd be the perfect solution with someone with a tiny bathroom or counter top that needed sprucing up. You can find doors, windows, screen, light fixtures, tiles, wood, paint, and a whole host of parts that you can't pick up at any big box store. Think of the green project like a thrift store for your house or creative endeavor. Be patient and diligent, as it can be hit or miss.

The Green Project is essentially a graveyard of houses that have been sadly torn down and the remaining good parts salvaged which allows current homes to be repaired with the remains of destroyed ones. The biggest negative here is the sticker shock prices of many of the items as you are no longer getting good deals on many of the items which might have been much more possible right after Hurricane Katrina.
