This place has so many neat small treasures! Wow! I was able to pick up a small sterling silver owl that is absolutely beautiful. The prices are decent and certainly not cheap but they are not ridiculously expensive either. I also scored a brass bat. There are a ton of things to look at. The customer service was indifferent but certainly not rude or anything negative. I would certainly come back. read more

I saw their cute little minis in a display shelf with their address inside the Hotel Monteleon and made my husband walk down here to look inside. I LOVED all the little minis - it was small, crowded, but well-stocked and the lady working inside was super friendly and welcoming and helpful. Be warned - they're expensive! $225 for the small cafe au lait and beignet mini. Woo.... something to think about for sure. But very adorable. Sandwiched between dozens of antique stores, art stores, and cute cafes on Royal street... loved it! read more

This is an adorable weird little store! They have hundreds if not thousands of limoges, which are these little porcelain boxes. The woman working there was extremely friendly and told us that all of them were hand painted porcelain and shipped from Italy. Each piece is unique and they have them in everything you could imagine, from cats and dogs to vegetables and even chairs! You could spend hours looking at these. They're all around $140-225 because of the detail that goes into making them, so we left without buying any but we were obsessed with this shop read more

Have you heard of Limoge or have you been living under a rock with me? I spotted a little display case featuring some selections in Hotel Monteleone. I later passed by The Brass Monkey and wanted to have a peek inside the store. I had zero clue what Limoges were. I glanced over the shelves rather quickly and once having a more in-depth conversation with the sales associate here I discovered just how interesting and unique they are. If you're a collector or know someone who is, this store has soooo many. I quickly became fascinated in spotting certain very fun designs (lighthouses, golf theme, cakes, coffee and beignets, hamburger, hot air balloon). Really, there's just about anything you can think of. I'm not a big collector of anything much but I can see how this could become an exciting habit. Mind you, they aren't exactly inexpensive- most range from $165-$250ish a piece in this store. Next time I'm in Paris, I'm determined to take a little trip to Limogé and who knows I may just start up a small collection for shits and giggles. If you've never heard of them and aren't a collector but you're in the French Quarter this is an absolutely lovely little store to visit. I have a strong feeling you'll find it fun to admire the craftsmanship of the collection on sale here. Now I feel like I'll always have my eye out for these in certain places, I'll strike gold if I can find someone who like me had no idea what they were. read more

For a little antique shopping stop by and see Miss Pam at Brass Monkey. She is so lovely and so is her shop.

STALE, OVERPRICED CHOCOLATES This small shop across from the Supreme Court has a large truffle case near the window. The abundant stock of confections has beckoned me for years but I never stopped in until yesterday. Well obviously others haven't bought them either - they were STALE. Like sitting in the abandoned vending machine since Katrina stale. The only flavor I got was of dust. Worse, prices aren't advertised and I was charged $8.80 for two small pieces. See pic. AVOID THE CHOCOLATES! read more

The Brass Monkey - STALE EXPENSIVE CHOCOLATES: triple chocolate truffle, dark chocolate pecan bark: $8.75. - Antiques Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Super cute store. Full of interesting items. I found one of the smallest owls for my collection. (Overpriced if you would ask me) $25.00 while a larger one was only $18.00) The women who worked there was kind and shared information on the products. There was also a casino machine located in the back of the store. The machine accepted dimes. Good Luck! read more

Really cool shop filled with Limoge boxes in all sorts of designs. They carry interesting canes, brass animals and other trinkets perfect for gifting. We saw a really cool albino alligator limoge box and when I asked about the price it was $350. I took a photo using google lense and found multiple ones between $120-$160 on eBay. It's overpriced but still a great shop to check out. read more

Your French female storekeeper is extremely unfriendly and rude. You lost our business because of her. I suggest she takes some lessons in customer service or get therapy as she is obviously a very unhappy person. She was rude to me and rude to my daughter. read more

This is a really cool store in New Orleans with lots of cute porcelain figures. I got a mini porcelain figure of a cafe au lait with beignets as a gift and I love it so much. It makes me happy to see it on my desk everyday. The lady working the store told me it was handcrafted in France which is pretty cool. read more

Love going here when visiting . I try to buy one item for my curio cabinet that is special for memory's

OMG! This might be the cutest shop in the Quarter and maybe even the city! I was strolling down Royal when my eye caught some really adorable collectibles in the window. Limoges! Limoges of all types! My mom used to love Limoges and she had quite a few and I had never seen so many in one spot, so of course I stopped in. They pretty much have any type of Limgoes box that you could ever imagine- they also had small ones in the shape of red beans and bigger ones in the shape of bananas and alligators. If you are a collector, this is your dream shop. I picked up a couple "New Orleans" themed boxes to ship to some friends out of town, as they are always on the hunt for unusual New Orleans souvenirs. The staff is helpful and will help you track down the perfect gift. Seriously, if you are visiting, skip the tacky tshirt shops and stop in here instead. They also sell chocolate and other fun things here, but for me, it was all about those neat little boxes. Note: There's a review on this business listing that is not for this business. I flagged it and nothing happened, I just wanted to mention that this store is an antique shop that doesn't serve food, so that one star is unwarranted. read more

I buy all my New Orleans Limoges boxes here. I have been going there for years and am never disappointed

A cute shop that sells unusual gifts and collectibles, French Limoges boxes, Halcyon days enamels, Jay Strongwater, and antique walking sticks. We bought a couple of the porcelain Limoges boxes to remind us of out first trip to New Orleans. They also have a selection of special chocolates. read more

A beautiful store with an amazing collection of Limoges boxes. An even amazing manager/owner who helped me acquire a special one.

I was in the shop yesterday and bought a very pretty bracelet made from Murano beads. The sales lady was very nice and helpful. I decided to come back and buy some for gifts. I knew exactly which ones I wanted and gave it to the person at the desk to ring up. I remarked how I had bought a bracelet yesterday and didn't see another one...just an offhand comment to make conversation. The woman replied something to the effect that what I saw was what they had in a very brusque tone. Then she charged me $5 more than I paid yesterday. She told me that they did not give discounts and I replied that I wasn't asking for one and she insisted I was. I asked how she expected to make sales when she was so unpleasant. She asked me if I wanted the bracelets or not and because they were so pretty I bought them in spite of the difference in price. She rang me up and told me never to come back. I hope the store owner reads this because this woman is not a good fit for a small business in a struggling economy. I did check my receipt from yesterday before posting this and Inwas correct about the price I paid, read more

Great little shop on Royal St! (and I do mean little in terms of space, not items sold) As other Yelpers have written, Limoges are their thing. But I'm not writing this because of the Limoges, no, I'm writing this for the wonderful earrings that I purchased here. Recycled brass from NOLA, made by a NOLA local, these fleur de lis earrings are gorgeous! They perfectly matched my dress for the wedding I attended. A little pricier than others, but given that they are local, I certainly didn't mind. The owner was also very sweet! read more

I stopped into the Brass Monkey while window shopping because I was drawn to their incredible displays of Limoges boxes. The boxes are very high quality and thus not especially cheap, but the shop also had many other little baubles at lower price points. The associates are incredibly knowledgable about the history of Limoges and all the particular facets to look for in different boxes. It was apparent that they were excited to share something they were passionate about and I couldn't help but get swept up in their infectious introduction to a charming artistic tradition. They helped me pick out the sweetest trinket box and I'm so happy to be able to have the Brass Monkey as a resource to help grow my collection. A New Orleans treasure! read more

This is such a beautiful little shop with the best selection of Limoges I've ever seen. The owner is so sweet- she's even too sweet to tell people with children not to let them touch. While I was in there a family with two small boys came in, they started picking up everything and I could tell she was bothered. She made an attempt to gently ask them to stop which was ignored. Please do her a favor and keep a close eye if you bring children into this shop. read more

Truffles delicious and shop owner very friendly! Try the peanut butter truffle (it's the shopkeepers favorite too) The little ol lady that works there may be the nicest person I've ever met, and got to know ya for our short visit at the shop. read more

A huge collection of limoges, which are small porcelain figurines/collectibles. If you're into that sort of thing then this place is your paradise because they have a million of 'em, unfortunately even the tiny ones are upwards of $100 which to me seems like a huge waste of money. They also have some nice looking truffles in wacky flavors, being a chocolate addict I had to try that. Not very good, most of them have a strong taste of sugar alcohols where the sweetness burns your mouth along with a dry cardboard shell. read more

While the service appeared crusty at first, it warmed up as I was hell-bent on not taking offense but enjoying myself regardless. I'm not a huge knick-nack fan but I was pleased to find charms that I could use for either my bracelet or necklace and that were not tacky or commonly found around the Quarter. The shop also showed a hidden sense of humour with the prints peeking out from behind their open door - almost missed them but wound up bringing one home. If you know anyone that likes curios or china collectables this is definitely the shop for them. read more
