I had my windows replaced with another company, but wanted a new front door WITH a storm/screen door. Homefix had just what I was looking for, and I picked out a beautiful door for my house. The guys showed up right on time, and immediately set to work. My new doors were installed in about 3 hours and now I'm just sitting back taking in the compliments. The best part is, they just happened to have a trim in the truck that matched my siding! It was going to be white (like the door), but the matching trim really makes the door look spectacular. My front hall is a lot lighter now, thanks to those glorious windows. All in all, I'm very pleased with the style of my door, and the work they did was very professional. I would not recommend HomeFix based on my experience. They failed to show up for my scheduled roof installation and then rescheduled the appointment without notifying me. Their customer service has been extremely disappointing--calls and messages went unanswered, and when I was finally able to speak with someone, they were rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to help. The lack of communication, poor customer service, and failure to honor scheduled appointments made this a very frustrating experience. I expected much better from a company handling such a major home improvement project. If my customer service experience is indicative of their quality of work., I wouldn't advise anyone to trust this company. read more

Do not even talk to this company. They send out flyers that pretend to be part of a defunct Maryland energy assistance program. Believing they were part of that program, my fiance called Homefix about replacinc 9 windows a sliding patio door. Their prices are high and they try to make them sound like a bargain. Dealing with them is like dealing with a used car. The sales people are 100% commission and it shows. Classic high pressure tactics and high prices. Despite my rule of not signing a contract without three bids in hand, I got sucked into signing a contract. When I tried to cancel it the next business day, I was given the runaround and had to drive to their headquarters to get it cancelled. Even then, we got email harassing us for cancelling the contract. The salesperson was slick and kept trying to sell me their "top of the line window" (I don't think they really sell anything else). Lots of calls to the sales manager for discounts on that window. Their top of the line are cheap Slocomb windows that are inferior, low end windows with cheap coil balances. Yes, they are the largest manufacturer of windows east of the Rockies, but their window designs are stuck in the 90's. Their primary customers are big outfits like Homefix. The sample window was unfinished with a bunch of waste plastic on the weld seams. Even after all the discounts they were almost twice the price of any other company that sold far superior mondern windows. read more

We contracted with them for new gutters in Nov '24 and we requested leaf guard on one side where we have a lot of trees. During the negotiation phase, the sales person said that he can get a lower price, and apparently dropped the leaf guard completely without telling us. They did the installation in Jan and in April the gutter on the tree side was already failing. They told us that it was our fault for allowing build up, but it built up because there was bowing. There is hardly any leaf dropping in spring! The down spout also looks like crap because of the slap dash job done. I will never contract with them again! read more

Don't fall for their overpriced standard materials with the same crews every roof, siding and windows contractor uses. Know a customer that ordered a $13000 tub. Yes you read that right.. $13k!! And HCR dropped it off on the side of the road, then installed it and the water wouldn't drain then the latch broke and the elderly customer couldn't get out of the tub. Her elderly husband had to help left her out of the tub. Very dangerous and embarrassing for both. HCR took weeks to get out and look at it. Excuse after excuse. They are an average, at best, company that pays to play by buying rankings on Home Advisor and such. These are facts and if anyone claims different they are liars. Be warned !!!! read more

home fix windows are terrible. we had them installed and 5 years later had to have all the glass replaced because the seals leaked and were growing mold inside the panes. now the replacement seals are going and mold once again forming. I can't speak to the rest of their products, but as far as windows are concerned, and as much as they cost, I absolutely would not recommend them for window replacement. You are literally and figuratively, throwing your money out the window. read more

I'm happy with the windows I received. However dealing with numerous sales people who always try to upcharge services made me feel like I was being scammed. Also the unsolicited evaluation was a rough introduction to the company. Their online reviews didn't ease my unease about dealing with this company. The gentleman acted like he didn't know Carlos Acosta, the representative that came to my house on March 12th. He asked that I give him an "hour or so" to look into it and call me back. Homefix did such a wonderful job on my roof that I had to come to Yelp to brag about it. I live in Baltimore city and my townhome needed architectural shingles in the front as well as a flat vinyl roof in the back. Homefix came when they said they would and did a wonderful job. There were some issues with the flat roofing system from many previous patch jobs done by the prior owner, and Homefix was able to repair these defects, create a brand new pitched decking system, and then lay the vinyl tpo membrane. They fixed my old leaking problem, and the new roof looks fantastic. I would recommend them to anybody who wants to have a beautiful reliable job done, all while not being price gouged. This company will not stop calling me for a free estimate. I have spoken to multiple different people to take me off of their list. It seems like twice a week someone calls me and says their name is "Brad Smith" or "Mike Anderson" while that is clearly not their name. I don't know about any of the work they do I just know that they have been harassing me and I will report them. I have no other choice. The other thing I will do is schedule a free estimate and then not answer the door. I will waste more of their time than they will waste of mine. read more

They're 30 year warranty on roofing is an insanely good deal and gives me peace of mind that the work I paid for will be worth it. In the past people I've worked with won't pick up after the check has cleared. With homefix I've always been able to get someone on the phone quickly. I ordered windows with HCR and they turned around the order quickly and were flexible with scheduling. The salesman was informative and very responsive. The techs were polite and took care to keep my house clean. I have a few more windows and a sliding door that I will replace at a later date and HCR will be the company I go with. read more

I had a Homefix appointment to inquire about replacing a sliding glass door in a house had just bought. The young man was on time and courteous but it sooned turned into a lecture about the different types of labor in the industry, UV filter factors, door materials and a great deal of time about their business license and the compnany that I did not need...just needed an estimate. After 20 minutes I said I really just need a solid number on a decent product. He played with his pad some more and showed me a cost of their basic door of 13, 647.00. He stressed 50 year warranty on all parts and labor...to which I said was not needed as I would be 110 by then. He then asked if he could place a sign in our yard for a month...OK, then how about a billboard for a month...no, pictures of before and after sent to all my neighbors...NO. Each offer came with a significant price reduction and he admitted he was a marketing agent, not a contractor. He said the approach works about 20-25% of the time which is when I asked him to leave. He asked if I were not aware the appointment was for an hour and had 30 minutes left...yet I made it clear I would not be working with them. He said he had to make some calls and played with his pad some more and finally left. I just went with a small contractor I have used before who is installing the door I wanted at a total cost of 2700.00. For the record, I am adding a 32' x 25' concrete patio next month and the complete cost was 1000.00 lower than what Homefix wanted for their door. Their whole strategy seems to be get in the house, try and overwhelm, intimidate or impress you and push overpriced products with discounts for participating in their marketing campaign. I have worked with local small contractors for 30 years and never had a bad service or materials experience. He rep was a nice young man, obviously marketing major, and just doing his job. However, I will never have this company in my house ever again. read more

The sales man was awesome and the presentation was good. (2/9/19) The gentlemen that did the measuring also was pleasant. (2/26/19)We had a couple of set backs. One being the HOA in my neighborhood which set our start date back and we had to modify the contract which was totally understandable. The costumer service job was gracious and friendly. 3/11/19. As of today 5/19/19 my doors and windows still haven't been installed. I'm ready to move on and I guess this is where the customer service goes down hill. I just want out. My product was suppose to be installed the first week of April and no one reached out to me. I've been CONSTANTLY CALLING and I feel like I'm at fault for wanting the contracted services in a timely manner. I've been nothing but accommodating, reasonable, friendly and a great customer. The contractor originally assigned to my home was miserable, but now that I needed my windows replaced because the original windows installed were bad, I found HCR to be great. im only going to be giving three stars. they did the roof in a timely matter and with little issues. the reasons for the 3 star rateing is for 1) the amount of nails in my yard that i had to go around and find. i have a toddler and a dog. my child was the one who first found a nail and brought it to me. we found several nails and one long string of nails that im assuming are meant for a nail gun. it doesnt take 5-10 to walk around my small home to make sure everything is collected when a job is done, especially if there was plenty of day light still out. for a company that claims to have been around for 30+ years, i would think they would afford some magnets and do a sweep around the area. 2) when i messaged the man who was in charge of our transition, sending them images of everything i had found around the house and all i got was 'im sorry, we tried' read more

We used HomeFix Custom Remodeling to replace our windows and skylights and a sliding glass door In our home. Our house had been built back in 1989, and the windows were DRAFTY, and made our electric bill extremely high in the extreme cold or hot. Our experience began a bit rocky with the salesperson as he was new and had to keep confirming information, but the customer service people were very helpful in clearing things up. The installation was a breeze, they got all the windows in our house removed and installed in one day and they were beautiful. Then, the next day they installed the skylights. When we weren't happy with the original skylight install, they sent a new team to replace them again and ensure we were completely happy. This company was very concerned with our approval of the work and didn't bill us until we were completely happy. They also offer a lifetime warranty which makes the experience even better. I haven't yet received an electricity bill, so I'm not sure of the savings, but I have noticed an obvious difference in the temperature in the home. I no longer hear every little thing outside and no longer have cold spots in my house due to the windows. If I could go back and make the choice again, I'd definitely choose this company, and I'd have chosen it sooner if I knew how much better it would be. read more

A man came to my home to provide an estimate for replacement windows. Never introduced himself. Spent most of the 2 hours he was there talking about himself. I told him from the beginning that I was getting additional quotes and would not sign a contract that day. He quoted an outrageous price (over $20,000) and then said if I signed that day he would reduce the price by 30%. I reminded him that I was not prepared to sign a contract. He then asked the ridiculous question, "If I said $1000 would you sign then?" I said, "No, I am not signing a contract today." He called someone and asked if he could give me a 40% discount and that person agreed, but I would need to allow them to put a yard sign in my yard for 30 days. I reminded him for the 4th time that I was not prepared to sign a contract. I said, "My thought is that if you can do the project for 40% off today, you can do it for 40% off next week." I asked him for his name and a business card and he promptly turned and walked out the door without providing either or saying another word. His rudeness made my decision a lot easier. That is one company I will NEVER have to consider for home improvements. read more

This company came to my home on 10/26/2021 for a roof estimate. At the time I was told it would take an hour. It took a couple. I told the sales person Lee that I was not interested at this time due to a current project being finished and I would be refinancing shortly, but maybe next year. I told him to check back with me. He wanted to run a soft credit check. I specifically asked him if it was a hard inquiry because I did not want that and he assured me it was not. A full month later, I get an email and a text from a financing company in Columbia Maryland called Pure Finance. They had been contacted by the HomeFix sales person/via the Pure Finance app. This notification said I received a month later said that my loan paperworks for 32,000 was reading to sign. Needless to say, I immediately called Pure Finance and the 3 credit agencies to put a Fraud Alert onto my credit. I had no idea where this was coming from as it had been a month since that estimate and I had no contact with that company since. I soon learned that HomeFix had used the application for Pure Finance to not only do a hard inquiry into my credit, but also drew up loan paperwork. And get this.. they put an address that was not even mine on the paperwork, but all of this hit my credit when I am now in the middle of a home refi. I have spent hours and hours on this. I was told that Pure Finance would be writing a letter to the agencies and that they were sorry for the mix up and they had to speak to Homefix about it. I have yet to receive a copy of that letter but they have assured that it is on the way. Meanwhile, I am having to fill out numerous extra paperwork explaining why these inquiries are on my credit for the new mortgage company. I still need to write all three agencies myself, get a letter from Homefix, which they said they would write, but I have never received, and contact other agencies in the state of Maryland so that this does not happen to anyone else. It is illegal to inquire into someone's credit without their knowledge. I have witnesses at my home who were there when I told them no and when I specifically asked about inquiring into my credit. This has cost me tones on money in hours of time and it is still not fixed yet. There is no excuse for people not being trained properly and doing this. Operations Manager was nice and said they would fix but he never wrote a letter and I never received any more communication from this company in writing explaining what they did so I could have it for my records. read more

Zero stars if I could. Run from this company's hard sale tactics. I cannot get the 3 and a 1/2 hours of my life back! Just out of principle I never EVER do business with someone who uses hard sale tactics and "buy today" pricing. Had I known this was their deal I would have never booked an estimate. Absent the "today only!" discount their prices are WAY over market and, upon due diligence, I am not all that impressed with the product. Also when I booked I specifically said that I may want different colors for my interior vs. exterior. The person said, "not a problem the possibilities are endless" but the product comes in 1 option - white vinyl - inside and out. Also was not confident that they would be able to match the wrap for my exterior decorative trim. The sales person made it feel like it was somehow our fault that the HOA has specific requirements. read more

I was given a quote for windows for $112/mo for 10 years, which I agreed to. Then they send me the loan papers for $139/mo for 12 years. Glad I read through the loan instead of just clicking on sign here everywhere. They didn't think they should say anything about not honoring their price and just hoped I wouldn't notice until I was locked in to the higher rates. For me, the difference would have been over $6,000!!!!!!!!!! that they hoped I would have missed. I will not reach out to these guys for a price on anything as they obviously will not stand behind it. Who knows how many other people they managed to screw over like this. read more

Their sales and estimate teams are great to with, their install teams are profession, thorough and never encountered an issue they could solve (with no price increase) and their products continue to look great and perform exceptionally.
