There are 20 people in line--literally 20--waiting. Likely because they are closed on the weekends (really) because pharmacists are unavailable...probably because they don't want to work here. I used to receive texts when they were closed and opened again, but like a Taylor Swift presale they crashed the system because it happened so frequently. Every time I come here I have a problem. And the same problem has a different answer depending on who the cashier is. I'm sick of the convoluted explanations about why the last tech messed it up (no one cares, we just want our prescriptions and don't want to obtain a doctorate to figure out why you can't make that happen). My meds are never in...they have to order them Every. Single. Time. My auto prescriptions never work. All around horrible. Go literally anywhere else. Drive to Hagerstown. Use instacart if you can't drive there. Or just die. I love Reed's but they don't work with my insurance now. I'm going to try an online delivery service. Fingers crossed that I'm not dead before I get that chance.

From the beginning, she felt they were very prejudicial about it, even saying "the insurance needed preauthorization" for a medication she had been taking for over a dozen years. When she called to ask what the issue was, they ran it again and it was just fine. Today, they called to say they couldn't fill the medication because the prescriber wasn't in the immediate area and they could only fill those from the immediate area. Mind you, they've filled it several times but they just "couldn't believe it hadn't been flagged before". It's from less than 3 hours away and insurance is perfectly fine-filled perfectly on time. Then it was a "Good luck finding another pharmacy!" This has been a terrible experience for my wife, who had been so happy to have the ease of a hometown pharmacy. I would suggest you avoid this pharmacy if you aren't a local or have a medication they may not agree with (Even if they don't know why you take it or your health history). It often concerns me that pharmacists have the power to make medical decisions that should be between a patient and their physician. I understand abuse of medications happens, but utilizing common sense happens, as well.

Coming across this locations, you would never know that it would be where it is. Right on the downtown walking mall, in a historic building, it almost surprises you when youre walking up and all of sudden- there's the CVS. At any rate, I walked in and was very impressed with the amount of items that are squeezed into this space- not just the usual drugstore items, but also foodstuffs, candies, chips, party supplies, business supplies, and the pharmacy in the rear of the building. The two issues I had were (1) the low level of customer service and (2) the pricing. The first issue is when I asked if they had a particular item - AFTER LOOKING MYSELF - the girl simply stared at me like I was a moron. Hey- sorry to bother you. I'll let you get back to pushing back your cuticles at the counter and daydreaming out the window. The second issue pertains to the prices which, even though they are a corporation - seemed really high for me in terms of other places I have been to. I don't know if rent is really high in the area, or they have to pay a hefty amount for the items - but it just felt like I was paying out of my nose for everyday items.

Luckily, SO had spotted this on the way in from Shepherdstown, so we went there. Its a small, family owned looking place, and they had just what I needed. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and let me use their facilities which was very generous of them. Definitely keep this in mind in you are touring Antietam and need anything- there isn't anything immediately nearby the battlefield, and this place is about 10-15 minutes away down the pike.

They also have a $5 minimum for credit cards. This is not reasonable during a time where prescriptions can cost hundreds a piece but, because my insurance charges me only $1 they need to suck every last drop out of you. Their hours don't suit a busy lifestyle they suit THEIR lifestyles. Another way they are not looking out for their customers. The last straw was on a Saturday ten minutes before they closed at TWO!! They were unable to process my ID through the "new" system but the big name was able too. They are open late, all around easier to deal with. Most employees are either rude or just don't care. And I have to say it's pretty audacious to build a small local pharmacy across the street from a RiteAid. Usually these things happen the other way around. The big national chain opens and puts the little guy out of business. Fisher's was great. It had everything I needed, in a warm and helpful environment, and a striking building. I wish them plenty of success, and maybe they can even reverse the trend and send the big chain packing.

I was very touched by their caring help and it really made a difference to me. Thank you, Jenn and staff. I am a very happy and appreciative customer of Fisher's Pharmacy. Truly, I receive respectful, kind and extremely efficient customer service every time I go to Fisher's. And when I say every time, I actually mean it. When I walk in the door of Fisher's, I am always greeted with a genuine smile and warm "Hello." I feel very welcomed. Fisher's gladly fills my prescriptions quickly - every time (for real). The pharmacist-owner, Jenn, and staff are always happy to help, answer questions, order items and so on. She is a compassionate pharmacist and human being who understands and empathizes with customers' health concerns. Sometimes while waiting for my prescriptions (if you can call about ten minutes a wait) I may buy a greeting card or two - they have a very nice selection - or just sit comfortably. This past prescription I called in to see if it was filled and they said they dont have it. I asked how long it would take to get it they said they dont know. Then they told me my insurance is not good and I asked how did my last prescription get filled. They told me they never ran it through my insurance!! Why this was not mentioned to me is beyond belief. Then they said they would not fill this one until I went there and gave them my new insurance information. My insurance information has never changed. I will never go back. The woman on the phone was not helpful at all to find a resolution to the insurance. I asked to give my information again and she refused. There customer service is lacking and they never try to find a solution. Poor service indeed.
