When you buy a house you work on the punch list you've created from the discovery phase of escrow in order to get your house move-in ready. But there are other things not mentioned. Like cleaning your vents/ducts and checking the furnace. If you have allergies/asthma like me, you think of ducts because dirty ducts will make you sick. After you read this review take a look at images on the internet of what comes out of dirty ducts and vents when they are professionally vacuumed. I used the handy dandy Yelp app to find someone for this project. If you haven't used that option - try it! You can contact multiple businesses with one email and wait for everyone to send you price quotes, scheduling availability, answer any questions you may have, etc. Israel came to the initial appointment on time. He thoroughly inspected my ducts, vents, and furnace. The end result was while my furnace is older, it was still good. My vents needed vacuuming, and my ducts were in bad shape so they needed replacing. He provided a straight forward price quote, offered a competitive rate, and vacuuming my dryer vent for free. Everyone was easy to reach and always happy to answer questions. The day of the work - the crew showed up on time, worked super hard, left my house clean and smelling fresh! I have brand new wool rugs. It was nice they made sure to take shoes off without me asking. I mean, how great is that? I love kind, considerate people. The work was great, the communication was excellent, the price was affordable, and my house is blowing heat through dust and debris free ducts/vents. I am a super happy customer! I recommend! I asked the owner, Israel, to clean my heating vents which he did. While he was here he said I needed my furnace cleaned badly so I asked if he was able to do it and he said yes. After he finished, he told me he had to put duct tape on the flue because it wasn't installed properly (You should never put duct tape on a furnace! It'll melt and could cause a fire! He should've used foil tape.) A few minutes later, he told me the furnace wasn't working and he shouldn't have cleaned it because it's very old. (He should've told me he was nervous to mess with it because of its age). He sat there staring at it, not knowing how to fix it and said he'd pay for installation if I bought a new one. (New ones are thousands of dollars and mine was working just fine before he touched it!) He said he'd come back the next day to see what he could do. After I slept on it I called him back and told him not to come. Luckily he didn't charge me anything for his mess ups. My roommate and I had to suffer the cold weather for the next few days. Luckily the new HVAC repairman was able to fix it in 5 minutes. All it needed was a new limit switch. I saved thousands of dollars. Don't trust Israel with your HVAC. He doesn't know what he's doing and should've said he was out of his element. read more

I was quoted $29 per vent/duct cleaning and I advised Israel that I had 9, I missed 2. He arrived today around 12.20 and looked at the furnace and said basically vent/duct cleaning with heavy duty blower motor cleaning would be $400. I clarified with him that he would clean the vents/ducts and use a razor to cut the caulking around the vents to prevent pulling the paint from it which he confirmed. After confirming with him, I went outside to start the oil change on my truck. As I was draining the oil, Israel has the blower motor on my front yard and cleaning it with a snake with a nylon brush attached to cordless drill (low rpm); the fan was dirty for sure. I was curious and watched him and suggested that he use my air compressor to get it really clean as the brush wasn't able to get to the nooks of it. He refused which should have alarmed me. I then went to get him my portable leaf blower and used it myself to blow the dust out. I would have used an air compressor but I was too busy with my truck and watching the puppy so i just let it go. As I was finishing up the oil change which took about an hour and a half, yes I'm that meticulous. Israel was also packing up. He told me he clean one vent in one room which he scratched it and damaged the paint around it. (See picture). And he cleaned the grate not the duct at the kitchen table and left dust and debris all over. I must clarified the dust/debris is from the furnace being turned on after it reinstall the motor. I paid him $400 and spent the next 2.5 hours vacuuming the room that he cleaned the vent/duct, the upstairs bathroom as it too was full of dust, and the whole kitchen area with my shop vac. He basically charged me $400 to clean the blower motor which was twice what others would have charged. Another red flag was when I asked him how long he has been doing this and he said 7 years. 7 years and only 68 reviews did not add up. If you're not going to communicate via the app, don't sign up to accept quote requests from the app. Update: Not sure why the company is surprised to get a bad review for refusing to communicate with the customer. I'm at work and getting bids from 4 different cleaners and don't have a place to make a call, nor any desire to. Every single one of your competitors was happy to work with me over text and either send someone out to make a bid, or quote a per-duct price directly. I get if you don't want to do business in this way, don't put yourselves up as offering quotes via the Yelp app if you won't actually be willing to do so: that's just misrepresentation. Update 2: After posting my prior review, I got several angry emails from different people at the company, demanding I remove my 'unfair' review based on their pre-sales behavior. After 6 months of construction dust and sawdust, I had 13 floor ducts cleaned, 2 air returns and they cleaned out the furnace itself. Israel and his helper worked quickly, were thorough and answered all of my concerns. Their prices are equivalent to any other duct cleaning companies you will find out there, he returns calls quickly and is easy to work with. The big difference was that Israel came out to to see the job before he gave me a price and then we scheduled the appointment. I doubt anyone else would take the extra time. I do notice an overall improvement in heating function, air quality -- the house seems to heat up faster with the cleaner vents and furnace. My only complaint is how all of these companies charge to do what seems like a very simple job -- they used a drill with a flexible snake and brush attachment to sweep the ducts and then a shop vac with a long hose to suck out the debris from inside the ducts. I might try and do this myself next time since it cost me almost $1,000 for about 2.5 hours of labor! I knew this was kind of a racket when I signed up for the service and I will say it probably needs to be done once a year. read more

I AM SO IMPRESSED. Charming, intelligent, punctual, talented, INCREDIBLE VALUE, trustworthy, professional... I mean, there are so many words to use about his class, his skill, and his demeanor. I called on a Sunday and Israel came the same day and gave me an estimate. Awesome. He took pictures of what he saw and explained to me what was going on. Great. He is very quick and straight to the point and was able to come back two days later to do a deep cleaning on the ducts and furnace. Again, he was very quick (about an hour for 7 vents and the furnace). I can't say whether the pricing was fair or not because I didn't have anyone else give me an estimate, but I paid about $500 for this service. I can't thanks enough to Israel.... Our furnace started running fan all the time no matter heater is ON or OFF, just didn't stop at all. The worst thing was that air was cold chill and heater wasn't working. We could stop the fan by taking the top and bottom panels out from the furnace. I contacted seven "Heating and AC" companies from the top Yelp reviewed companies around Mill Valley included Home Team Srv.. The unit is for a short term rental and our guests are coming next day and I needed to fix ASAP. What I started hearing back from these companies were the same, they are busy and can not come until mid March for initial diagnosis, which is $65 - $120, then I make another appointment for repairing and that prices may vary. Israel called me around 10:30 AM and asked my address. He searched how far from where he was, and said he is coming in 11 min. I was so happy to know that finally someone can come and check the furnace. He checked the furnace and thermostats (switching back and force, Nest and Honeywell) he suspected that probably the fuse blew, or motherboard is broken.... He said his crew members are all out for services and won't be able to come today. He even helped me to find other heater companies on yelp with me. I called two companies with him but they were not answering the phone, he said, he will try arranging to bring someone later if I couldn't find any other company to fix. He told me to let him know. Also he told me to try changing the fuse by myself, and showed me the location and how to replace. After Israel left (NOTE: He did NOT charge me anything!!!), I decided to go to buy electric heaters instead of finding other companies which was my plan B...... I came home with two large electric heaters and the fuse Israel showed me (less than $1). I changed the fuse and put duck tape on the interlock switch under the lower panel as he did..... Wow, working! in 5 sec the heater came on! I went to the unit and put my hands on the register....YAY the warm air started coming!!! I turned off the heater, and the fan stopped as well.
