First time/last time here. I went with my girlfriend about an hour ago for some ice cream and the place looked closed from the outside because of the steel gates in front of the donut cases. The employee inside waved us in so we looked around at the menu to make a decision. He then started rushing us even though we were the only 2 people in the place. Then when we chose our ice cream I pulled out my card to pay and he told me, "Cash only." I pointed out the Visa sign and again he said, "Cash only." Then I asked wheres the ATM, since there's a sign for that too. And all I got was "It's broken, come back when you got cash." Next time when its late, i'll just go to Rite Aid for some Thriftys ice cream. read more

I pass by this donut shop everyday coming home from work. I honestly thought it was a little run down donut hole. I noticed positive reviews on yelp and a A grade posted in the window so decided to give it a try. I was pretty impressed at the variety that was displayed and tried a few different things. Everything my family and I tried was delicious! I would also like to mention the the guy who helped me was awesome. Super friendly and super patient (I was a bit slow any making some choices) he also threw in a couple donuts just to be nice! What a great first time experience! I will definitely return... Hey, I'm new to this review world of Yelp, but I had to voice my opinion on Home Style Donuts rather then listening to this Nette H character. I went to the HSD and found it to be a quaint mom and pop place that put clients first truly welcoming anyone...WOW I was surprise when the family kids spoke Spanish and neither them or I are Spanish. The atmosphere was come one come all...food was Awesome! and strangers spoke to me as if I was an old friend. Kindness goes a long way in this crazy world and for some reason Nette H. was HATING that people found it there as I did. Nette H. maybe if you took the time to stop trying to drum up business for someone else then I would stop looking at your nickname of BOOOM and change it to BOOOO so stop the HATE Nette H. read more

Best Donut shop in Norwalk don't get me wrong. The thing that I don't like is that the Asian lady who looks to be in her 40s I believe can sometimes be a smart ass about lottery. Like today I went and bought a few tickets and told her "Ok I ow you $19. And she like why 19 your confusing yourself she counted the tickets and said 19 I was like bitch I just said that. We were driving back from the Hollywood strip at 2am and low and behold I saw a Donut sign that said open! Went in and saw a good variety of donuts. I bought powdered, choc, kruller and two big hot glazed. Soo good. Even a few days later, they tasted good! I dont live in the state bit will be back if Im in the area. read more

I love homestyle donuts ... I'm not a big donut fan as i use yo be b3cause i have been so disappointed. This donut shop is by home and on my way to my kids drop off, they love donuts so i stopped on e friday as a treat for them i just grabbed a coffee. The women working are so cute and sweet, always hustling and working hard! The coffee was AMAZING im a coffee addict no need for creamer or sugar mmmm then i just tried one of my daughters donut holes and i knew these were some bomb old school donuts (as they shld be) fluffy soft not doughy and hard or extra greasy. Best doughnuts in Norwalk or anywhere in that area. My cousin has brought me back doughnuts from "The Doughnut Man" in some other city cause he says they are the best. After having those and these I can honestly say that Home Style Doughnuts are the best. Always fresh and good. Customer service is excellent, they take cash or debit and even have an atm inside. Highly recommend! Old Fashion Chocolates and mini apple fritters are our favorites! And they have the best tiger tails too! read more

It my favorite place to go when ever I want to surround myself with good company and good donuts

Horrible customer service! First time going to this place and I went with a friend around 1130pm for ice cream. There were like 3 ppl in there already ordering. The whole counter is locked behind one of those steel gates and I'm guessing it was because it was late at night. My friend orders a banana split which looked great and me a cup with two scoops. She goes to pay for it with her card and he just looks at her and says cash only. Where were the signs?! She points out that there is a visa logo on the register and he says "not at night" and throws the ice cream back in the freezer. The best part is that the ATM machine is behind the chained gate with him -_-. So we leave to get money.. Come back and he gives us the same ice cream and didn't even offer to make us new ones. So she pays with cash and he hands us the ice cream through the gate which knocks the banana split all over the counter and floor. He looks at my friend and rolls his eyes and says "Give me $3 and I'll make you a new one" we just walked out after that. I will never return here!! read more

The owner's son was such a delight. He was so attentive and has an incredible personality and a voice fit for voice work. In addition, the prices are very reasonable and the assortment is plentiful. This is a family owned store and the customer service is friendly. I myself have engaged in many conversations with the workers and they are very genuine people. would definitely recommend visiting!! read more
