Home Slice Pizza on Congress Ave., Austin TX.
    Shaun K.

Home Slice Pizza never disappoints! The flavor of their pizza is great and I especially love their crust. I live in Temple, but I make it a point to visit Home Slice whenever I'm in Austin. They have two locations and both are great. I really enjoy people watching at the Congress Ave. location. The service is great and they've made an effort to increase their outdoor seating. Everybody's just out there doing their own thing. Love it!

Stopped by for lunch and was greeted by a friendly face. I didn't make it inside as I saw they had a walk up order window outside. Ordering was quick and easy and the gentleman who took my order offered me complimentary water which was perfect for this hot day. The pizza was reasonably priced and I was left wishing I'd ordered a second slice . The pizza tasted light and fresh, not too greasy and it was a decent size! Looking forward to coming back to enjoy the chill vibes again and check out inside!

Home Slice Pizza on S. Congress is a popular Austin spot known for its New York-style, thin-crust pizza. Even if you're not a pizza enthusiast (like us), their crisp-yet-chewy slices are worth trying. The restaurant was busy with both locals and tourists. The staff was notably energetic and friendly as they called customers names for both on-site dining and "to go" orders. Home Slice Pizza dough is made from water, salt, olive oil, yeast, and flour, then fermented for 72 hours for consistency. Toppings include options like fresh basil, black and green olives, mushrooms, onions, pepperoni, sausage, extra cheese, and more, with premium toppings such as fried eggplant, ricotta, artichoke hearts, meatballs, and vegan cheese available for an additional charge. We had the Margherita pizza, which was good and not overly filling. Super busy environment...

Forever an Austin staple. This last round we skipped the pizza for the half Caesar salad and the half Italian sandwich. It was enough for two to share I know the sticker shock hurts if you see the whole sandwich ($22!!) but I'm telling you.. the hype is worth it.

Yeah, I'm doing the classic Home Slice review in Austin. But it really is as good as everyone says and it's a reason that this place is an Austin staple. Despite the soco location being the most well known, I am more fond of their spot down off airport blvd. First off, every time I go, the staff are so sweet and kind. Always so friendly and welcoming. I also prefer the outdoor seating and generally homey vibe of this location. On to the pizza, yeah it's that good. Every slice I've had is cooked perfectly with the crust having a light crunch that you just want to keep chewing. The toppings are loaded on top and the price for a single slice is really good when you take into account just how big they are. I also love getting a caesar salad to pair.

The soco location is great, but I find this location superior! It's very homey. The interior is eclectic, and their patio is the spot when the weather is nice. Get here early because once school is out, it starts getting packed and the line for a table can get long. And it can get dirty if that's not your vibe with the kids running around, then sit inside. You have to get a sandwich and a pizza if you've never tried Home Slice. The sandwiches are so good (and there's a veggie option), and ask for the pizza to be crispy!

We loved it so much we got Home Slice again for a party later that night.

Home Slice Pizza in Austin is officially the best pizza I've ever had, and I'm not being dramatic. The slices are MASSIVE, like "you have to fold it or you're going to wear it" huge. The crust had that perfect chew, and it was just straight up great pizza. We ate there and loved it so much that later that night we threw a little party and ordered Home Slice (again) delivered, and it still hit just as hard the second time! Everyone at the party loved it. Don't skip dessert! Their cookie was legit, so soft and loaded with chocolate chunks. For some reason, an awesome cookie paired with the best pizza is an elite combo. The dine in area isn't huge, but they're always busy because they're that good, and it's worth the wait. Sitting inside isn't impossible though, and it has a really cute old-school pizzeria vibe that feels authentic (not in a gross way). The staff is INCREDIBLY nice too and went out of their way for me multiple times, which just made me love the place even more. If you're in Austin, this is a must. Go hungry, plan on leftovers, and accept that folding your slice is part of the experience. Easy 5 stars from me.

Dec 13, 2025 review: ---- This is one of those late night cravings place but with the good food quality. They have 2-3 options for vegetarian in their slice options. Super easy to order. You can just order through the window, no need to walk inside restaurant. Plenty of seating both outside and inside. Outside is also huge with place to sit in front, side and back area. Full menu is also available with salad, calzone, full size pizza portions. 1-2 pizza slice maybe a enough for one person depending on how hungry you are. It's decent size pie. They do have chilli flakes and oregano (which I hardly find at any pizza place). Overall really good place to keep in mind if you have late night cravings for pizza.

This place was great. I went in for a late night pizza slice. I had 2...a pepperoni and a broccoli and feta. Both were amazing. I also returned the next day and had a calzone. Also good. This place is very efficient for the large foot traffic they have. I did have to wait about 45 min for the calzone but I had fun people watching.

Home Slice gets a lot of hype in Austin but I truly believe it really is that good... it's some of the best NY style pizza you can get here in Austin and the subs are PHENOMENAL! They're open late, the pricing is reasonable, and the portion size is fantastic! FAST FACTS: * Parking - small lot in front of the building with some neighborhood parking nearby(can be tricky if they're busy) * Online ordering - available for pickup on their website * Pizza available by the slice or pie * Counter to the left when you enter for pickup orders and pizza by the slice SERVICE - We arrived at 9:20 pm on a Saturday night (on their 20th birthday celebration) and were seated right away. They were busy but the service was great... our server Nate took care of us from start to finish and made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered everything at once and they brought out the 2 slices first (about 20 minutes after ordering) followed by the subs (10 minutes later). PRICING - The total was $61.98 after tax ($4.73) but before tip for an iced tea ($3.50), pepperoni slice ($4.75), white pie with spinach slice ($5), whole meatball sub ($22) and whole Italian sub ($22). At first, $22 for a sub might sound steep but they are MASSIVE... two people could split a sub and be good to go! I think the pricing is reasonable for the portion size. PEPPERONI SLICE (8/10) - Classic NY style and it's done right... the crust is what makes it! It's foldable but not floppy and the pepperoni are crispy but not burnt. It's a great slice of pizza! I'd order this again. WHITE PIE WITH SPINACH SLICE (7/10) - This was one of the daily offerings for slices and I wanted to try something different... it was super cheesy and good! I'd probably get a different slice next time but I'm happy I tried it. ITALIAN SUB (8/10) - First of all, it's MASSIVE! The sesame seed bun is different but it works! There's also mayo on it which I really enjoyed. This is one of the best Italian subs I've had, especially in Austin. I'd order this again. MEATBALL SUB (8/10) - Again, It's MASSIVE. It's loaded from the top so it holds together pretty well. The meatballs are flavorful and juicy, it has the right amount of marinara sauce, and the cheese is super melty. Just like with the Italian subs, it's one of my favorite meatball subs here in Austin. I'd order this again. This was my second time trying this Home Slice location and I've also been to the SoCo location... both are great but this one is less busy. I'll definitely be back when I want NY style pizza or a massive sub (especially late) and would recommend it to others. Don't be afraid to get more food than you think you'll eat and take it home (both the pizza and subs reheat well and don't get soggy)!

First time visiting Home Slice's E 53rd St location! There's a small parking lot out front and some spots along the side. We came on a Wednesday around 4 pm, and were seated almost immediately. The interior design is very charming, complete with red gingham tablecloths and ambient lighting. (Side note, their bathrooms are quite nice too.) Our friend group all decided to go for "Pizza by the Slice." The slice pies change everyday and there are both thin crust and Sicilian (deep dish style, available until 5 pm) options available. Initially was going to order the Sicilian Pepperoni, but decided to try out the Special Slice after our server finished describing the options! Special Slice/White Pie ($5.00, 5/5) - The white pie comes topped with spinach and a good amount of ricotta! Very flavorful, and the ricotta was rich and creamy. - The (thin) crust was well-seasoned, warm & crispy - Fan favorite out of the group (with many of us getting another slice to-go). Overall, Home Slice is a great meet-up spot for delicious pizza! Would highly recommend giving the white pie a try if you haven't already. Will definitely be back to visit again!

In Austin for work and personal. Not ashamed to say I had it twice in one week. First time, work peeps, large group of 10. Waited maybe 20ish min which wasn't too bad on a Tuesday night. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling super great so couldn't fully enjoy my meal. Got the margherita pizza and had a little of the house salad. Salad was light and refreshing but could have used a little salt. Second round: feeling much better and got to enjoy more. We came for lunch right when they opened. We got a nice assortment of the menu. Order: medium buffalo wings - on the small side but enjoyable Chicken parm sandwich- got a nibble , so good. Bread was soft, chewy, and crusty. Pizza: large pepperoni with half having mushrooms and basil Caesar salad: the dressing had a light zing to the traditional Caesar Both times servers were great. Attentive, nice, and helpful with ordering for a big group.

Man do I love this homeslice location! The outside environment is just perfect for having a big group of friends or just sitting with your partner. Don't get me started on the pizza and Italian sub it's so ridiculously good. Staff is always so friends and come out quick with the food. 10 out of 10 please never change Homeslice on 53rd!

That's to be expected when we descended upon the restaurant with such a large group. For six people, we ordered three pizzas to share. We definitely could have shared with more people because we had some pizza left over. We got The Works, Shroomin' Goat, and Texas Chicken Ranch pizzas. The Texas Chicken Ranch was by far our favourite. It was really good, while the other two were alright. The crust was weirdly bubbly and amorphous looking. There was a lot of crust. The Works was okay. The sauce and meat weren't particularly tasty. The Shroomin' Goat was a vegetarian pizza with a lot of arugula, which is not my type of pizza, but our vegetarian friend said it was okay. Great vibes at Pinthouse overall though, and I have enjoyed their other pizzas in the past.

There is nothing more delectable than their unique and unbelievable slices of pizza. On top of that, their Caesar salad, and everything else in between is incredible as well. The only "issue" with Allday in Hyde Park is that you are always waiting in line. Their location in Hyde Park is their second location and is their most popular by far. Though the wait in line at any hour is worth it. Sometimes you just don't want to make that commitment. That's where their location in Terrytown shows up as the true superstar. Located right off of Lake Austin, the Allday Pizza is attached to Flo's Wine Bar and Bottle Shop as a walk up window. There isn't a lot of parking at Flo's, but plenty of free street parking right next to Allday on Pecos Street. What is crazy is that when we walked in at 12:15 PM on Sunday, might I add, there was no line to order. Plenty of people going to town on their pizza, but no line to order. This was incredible. In Hyde Park, a 12:15 PM arrival would mean a 1:30 PM meal. Not here! The outdoor space is shaded and well covered which was great for a rainy day like today was. You can also sit inside Flo's with your pizza and enjoy some wine alongside it. You can do no wrong here! Another reason I wanted to go to the Terrytown location was because unlike Hyde Park, they serve by the slice cuts of the Cacio E Pepe that I've been dying to try. After our order, we grabbed some plates, cups of water and napkins, and our food was ready in mere seconds. I had a slice of the Stracciatella, the Pep & Pepp, and of course, the Cacio E Pepe. The Stracciatella is creamy and delightful and the Pep & Pepp has a minor kick but really balances against the Stracciatella. The Cacio E Pepe was fantastic. No tomato sauce, but the peppery flavor (that you would expect in a cheese and pepper pizza) was outstanding. It tasted like a well done sauce on crust. My girlfriend got a Tomato Tomatoe that I tried a bite of and was impressed. The lemon pepper panko is just like the one included in the MVP Caesar Salad and it really did a lot of heavy lifting in the slice because it is simply so incredible. The salad which I got a bite of is delectable. How do the greens taste so fresh? Why is the dressing so delightful? It's still the best Caesar I've ever had. Because there was no line, we indulged a bit and got a Dirt Cup to share for dessert. It consisted of their Dark Chocolate Soft Serve, chocolate sauce, an Oreo crumble made in-house, and gummy worms. The soft serve gelato is nuts. I haven't had it at the Hyde location and this was my first impression. What a star on its own. I have not had a single bad menu item at Allday. You can't go wrong. Hyde Park's location might feel a little more sophisticated with its beautiful architecture, full bar with wines, cocktails, and beers on draft, and a little bit more expansive of a menu, but the Terrytown location feels a little more peaceful. It is in a beautiful area of Austin and the ability to arrive and be done with a meal in about 45 minutes is magical. I think Allday in Terrytown might take over the Hyde Park location as my favorite restaurant in Austin, but it's a close race like debating if Wemby or SGA deserves the MVP more. Both are ceiling raisers and the best food you can have in Austin. RIYL: The best food you can have in Austin with little to no wait.

So I'd i could do a 1-10 scale I'd give it a 9 for the extra work we had to put in to align with their limited open hours and for the soggy crust. But highest marks on the rest. They also have a room you can rent out in the back or the restaurant and good parking. Next time you want pie- Give pieous a try

In a city filled with amazing pizza joints, Baldinucci is definitely near the top of the list…read more Located in West Lake Hills, I was pleasantly surprised by just how many pizza options they offer. They're especially known for their Roman-style pizza so I highly recommend giving it a try. As for flavors, you really can't go wrong but the standouts for me were the Potato, Chicken Parm and Lasagna slices. They also serve calzones, New York-style pizza, gelato and wine, so there's truly something for everyone. The pizza is priced by the slice, which makes it easy to mix and match like I did, though you can also order a full pie. I will say this definitely isn't cheap pizza, but you're absolutely paying for quality ingredients and incredible flavor. I ended up taking mine to go, but they do have a few tables inside and outside if you want to dine in. With plenty of parking, fast service and mind-blowing flavors what more could you ask for from a pizza spot?

Two things grab you immediately, the variety of pizzas available and other offerings such as gelato (yes! Gelato...so uniquely Italian). The Roman style slices were light, airy, and crisp. In addition, they also serve New York-style pizza pies as a classic pizza offering. Customers can elect to have a whole pizza, a variety of pizza slices to equal a whole pizza or pizza by the slice. Literally, even the most discerning palate can find can pizza at this location - vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options...yes...traditional selections and creative combinations...yes! You can taste the exquisite quality of the ingredients, from the crust to the toppings. We ordered the Italian sausage and pepper pizza. For a person who does not eat a lot of pizza, this pizza was delicious. The Baldinucci vibe was uniquely European...families sitting outside enjoy pizza and all the trimmings along with friends, colleagues and family members also dining inside. There was a constant stream of customers picking up "to-go" orders as well. While in route, we got a bit lost circling the Randall parking lot twice. Once we reached staff, they were so helpful to point out a major landmark, which helped navigate us to the building. Excellent dining experience...

I have not eaten here since 2021 when it was still at the gas station. I moved out of Austin…read morebecause I wanted to buy property and Austin is unaffordable. It's now located in the old Gordough's location. Not surprised they closed down, honestly. Maybe ignoring their customers wasn't the best way to stay in business. See my review for them. This is also the old south Austin Good Eats location. Remember them? The best chicken fried steak. Anyway, their pizza is still pretty good. I do have a couple of minor complaints. The pizza is rolled out so thin, that it does not support the weight of the toppings. If you get a red sauce, you're going to have a soggy crust when you finally get the pizza home. Still nice and chewy, so that's good. I also bought some pizza rolls. I didn't realize that the Americana had Italian sausage in them because I did not read the description closely enough. BTW, the Americana contains Italian sausage? Think about that for a minute. They were nice and spicy. The side of red sauce wasn't enough. Also, it's gotten really expensive. $20 for the pizza. Another nine dollars for the pizza rolls, and since I ordered online I got charged a $2.50 convenience fee. That's not on the restaurant; I understand. I just wish that the platform had told me I was being charged a convenience fee. I would have placed a phone order otherwise. BTW, if you order online through yelp, you get charged $19 and change for the pizza. If you order through DoorDash, it's $20.80. I also had problems getting to their website. That made viewing the menu difficult. I would eat here again, probably. But like I said I don't live in Austin so it's unlikely.
