When they came out they didn't even have the ladder needed to check our chimney, which was 25'. We called someone else, they came the same day too and had the ladder, set a trap and capped both of our chimneys for a bit more than what Critter Control wanted to set a trap. Then Critter Control came to our house, unannounced, the following Monday, rang the door bell, when no one answered they were on our property with a ladder, basically trespassing. Then came to the front door again, this time I could answer, they asked who did the work. I told them if they had called we would have gladly told them the job was done, to which the man responded I should have called him. To which I responded that if he had planned to come on my property it was his obligation to call me. He was pretty confrontational, and I would never recommend them or use them again. Horrible customer service.

I feel obligated to warn potential customers about CS Roofing, who recently installed a roof on our…read morehistoric home, and the terrible experience we had. Right from the start, the technicians left nails and old shingles all over the yard after the work was complete, which I still find today. Entire sections of the new roof blew off in the first year after install, and I only discovered it because we had contractors on the roof repairing another section of CS Roofing's terrible install. Most importantly, they completely botched the installation of a commercial grade membrane over the porch section in front (which no credibly roofer would have recommended in the first place), did not properly install flashing to the surrounding masonry, resulting in leaks and water damage around the entire front interior of the house and structure of the porch roof. The shoddy work is visible from the road and looks terrible, and has resulted in thousands of dollars of repairs. CS Roofing refused to resolve or fix it, and has stopped returning my calls and emails.

The customer reviews stated it was a two hour job. I advertised for someone to put it up for me, stating it was a two hour job. Poor Jason! It turned into the job from hell, through no fault of his. EVERYTHING worked against him, it was more work than I knew or he expected to find. It rained on and off, the wind kicked up, making it impossible to put the plastic tarp-like covering on. Two hours stretched into 6 hours and he NEVER complained, never quit, never gave up. I haven't seen this kind of work ethic since my grandparents generation! I felt horrible about it, but he was a trooper. He cleaned everything up and left when the wind get too strong. I paid him double what we planned before he left, thinking "I would not blame this guy if he NEVER came back here!" He did come back the next morning and finished the job. Amy, answered the phone answered all my questions and scheduled an in-house visit with Steve. Steve arrived as scheduled and professionally answered my further questions. He explained to me how my home could be insulated,so there were no surprises. He told me about energy credits available to me and special financing. Plus my neighbor will get a check too for the referral! That will be a pleasant surprise for them.Steve measured my home to get the estimate. Upon his departure, I was left with a list of homework to complete before the installation. The installation crew#3 arrived on schedule. Mike the supervisor did a pre walk through to confirm that I understood that holes would be drilled on the exterior. He showed me a sample of the pine hole plug. Upon discussing the project I became a bit nervous and asked if I could "call a friend", that discussion helped me make the final decision to go ahead with the project. The construction of my home was a bit different than the crew had expected which meant less holes and plugs. (Yippy, happy dance).I gave them the final go ahead. Mike, Denny and Anthony communicated well and work great as a team. It took only a few hours to complete my home. They were very professional and took great care to make sure the finished job was completed to my satisfaction and looked nice. As the foam was being sprayed into the walls some would squirt out when the wall became full. The team of three followed each other and cleaned up as they went. No residue on the walls or the ground were left behind. I gave RetroFoam a five star rating because, they communicated well every step of the project, they are reliable when they say they will be there they were, the final cost came with no surprises. My first day I noticed my home was more sound proof. Time will tell if it will be easier to heat and cool my home. Thank you for such a positive experience!

I hired Retrofoam to fix a specific issue with a drafty, cold, west-facing room on my first floor. The initial experience was fine and I hired them based on their slick marketing and sales pitch. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. In hindsight, the assessment felt rushed, but I trusted their expertise when they recommended removing the fiberglass insulation and spray-foaming rim joists. Unfortunately, after spending $2,300, the fix made absolutely no difference. When I sent a video showing that the draft problem wasn't fixed, they essentially ghosted me until I left a one-star review here. They then returned and the technician confirmed 32 degrees at the floor level. 32 degrees! He also admitted that their SALESPEOPLE DON'T CARRY APPROPRIATE DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS. On a call later with Aaron (Retrofoam's owner) when I asked about their sales process, he told me that their salespeople don't really do assessments (not what they say on their website!) but rather just rely on "best practices" (aka guessing). Aaron said their salespeople are just there to "measure" and "make sure shelves aren't in the way" of the technicians. Wow. They offered to come "caulk the baseboard" as part of a warranty service. Absolutely refused to own up to a clear misdiagnosis and a waste of my money. Proceed cautiously before signing up with these guys. They don't stand behind their own hype.

My mom had no advance notice, no ability to use her stove or microwave, and her heat was disrupted for several hours on a very cold snowy "feels like" temperature in the single digits. My mom is an elderly woman who was unable to go out in the snow to question what was going on. Moreover, she should not have been placed in this situation. Finally, the workers took away wood that my mom had purchased for landscaping purposes. All of this occurred with no communication or even notification to the homeowner- my mom. I am beyond frustrated and appalled that these actions took place. UPDATE: The next day, the trucks were outside my mom's property once again. Since I was there, I ventured out through the snow to ask them about their plans and whether they would once again be cutting off electricity. The person I spoke with was very pleasant and promised to check on the plans. He kept his word and shortly thereafter knocked on my mom's door to advise that they would once again be turning off electricity for 2-3 hours. At least this time we had notice - even though I had to seek it out. My mom was prepared and it was less surprising than the previous day. I still think that Management should have provided advance notice of the electricity interruption but appreciated the helpful information from the worker who was on the job site. Because of him, I am upgrading one star, and yet believe Management needs to do a better job of keeping residents informed.
