I scheduled a diagnostic service call. The sketchy looking tech arrived and spent less than ten…read moreminutes with the unit and reported to me that the igniter wasn't working. He stated that the part would need to be replaced before he could see if anything else was wrong; likely setting me up for costly repair after repair. While I was questioning him about replacement costs and other potential issues, he was responding with vague answers and kept referring back to collecting the fee for the service call before the visit was even complete. He gave no useful information. In my opinion, he was only there to get the service call fee, he had no intention of providing actual service as it was 4:30p on Friday afternoon. Even though I had no interest in using Creative Comforts for any additional work, I still waited for the office to call with a follow-up from the service visit. I ended up calling them and the office acted like they had no idea who I was at first. I asked to be phoned with repair costs and they sent an email instead. I called another company, Donnelly who waived the diagnostic fee and thoroughly assessed my system for FREE. It was not the igniter...the whole unit is faulty as it is over 30 years old. The safety switch was preventing the unit from running.

So we can't be fooled. The tech tried to tell us that we needed to replace the control board. That's a $2,000 repair. We said no, but still had to pay $300 for his service call. Then we called a competitor who showed us that our problem was a hypo-allergenic heater filter with a weave so tight that the heater shut down rather than pump more air through that filter. It cost us $150 for the other guy's site visit and $35 at Lowe's for a new, less tightly woven filter. Problem solved. Don't go to Scatton's.

We are grateful the co detectors were working! This happened on a Monday. By Monday afternoon we had an estimator arrive to give an estimate. We decided to replace both furnaces and A/C units. Scatton's rearranged a few schedules to do our installations on that Friday with two crews. The crews were very professional and courteous and explained everything to us in detail. Their cleanup was immaculate. I highly recommend Scatton's and will be using them in the future for all our HVAC needs.

I immediately contacted the company and explained this was an unauthorized delivery. They issued only a partial refund and the owner later confirmed they would not refund the remaining balance, despite the delivery occurring after cancellation. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this directly before disputing the charge. This experience reflects poor internal communication and refusal to correct a clear error. They also operate under the name Liberty Bell Fuel Oil.

Bobby was on time and professional. He answered all of my questions and offered information that I didn't even think to ask about. My system is 14 years old but has been maintained well. A LOT of other places will try to upsell you if your equipment is 10+ years old. Not This company. Bobby showed me two items that do need attention, but weren't critical enough to need to be replaced TODAY. I'll be inviting him back to complete the system by the end of the month for sure. I went to the basement to check the circuits and discovered water on the floor around my heater and my new Thermostat also had stopped working. I called McGinley HVAC and spoke to Ryan and he quickly got me on the schedule for the next available technician. In about 45 minutes Charles arrived and immediately got to work on the leak and replacing the thermostat (which got fried from the power surge). My electrician wasn't calling me back so I asked Charles if he or McGinley had any electrician recommendations. He gave me the electrician's name and I called him. Within 15 minutes he was here and he found what was causing the power outage issue and fixed it. Words can't express how grateful I am to McGinley's team for their prompt and efficient service. Their kindness, compassion and outstanding service is appreciated. It is so reassuring to know McGinley is there for me and I highly recommend them!

After my central a/c unit stopped blowing cold air I figured I'd take a look at it myself. I found…read morethe capacitor to be a rusty, slightly expanded mess. I was able to switch that out myself but I was still getting warm air. After reading some other reviews I had no doubt who I was going to call. J&M had great reviews everywhere I looked. After my experience with them, I can absolutely understand why and thoroughly agree with all those reviews. I called and Phil answered the phone immediately. I wasn't sure when I would be available so I called my significant other to see if she could be there to meet him that day. Not only was he able to come out the same day, he was literally there 20 minutes after I told him she would be there waiting. In the end I simply needed a recharge. Fortunately he had the older freon available that my a/c unit needed. This stuff isn't cheap, but the charge was more than fair for the quick visit and the recharge. Phil had great communication and my a/c is blowing ice cold once again. There was plenty of opportunity to try and pull one over on my other half but that simply isn't what they do. They find the problem and fix the problem without trying to take advantage of the customer. It's difficult to find a company you can trust these days. I'm really glad I did and 100% recommend J&M to anyone needing HVAC service.
