Home Evolution (Alex) provided a prompt visit to assess the job and provide his roofing proposal for our 1975 home. Unexpectedly, Alex sat down with us and explained everything that he proposed to do to complete the job the right way. This included a well prepared video of what we could expect and presentation of literature and samples of products that were planned to be used (e.g., synthetic roofing underlayment, etc.) As an engineer, I appreciated that because unless you know the details of what you are paying for I'm not sure how anyone can make an informed decision - especially with all of the (170 or so) roofing contractors in business in the area. The job entailed: installation of heavy canvas tarps to protect landscaping, removal of two layers of 3-tab shingles, removal of the original plywood sheathing due to black mold, removal of existing air vents, removal of the existing gutters and downspouts, installation of Advantech 5/8 in. thick tongue and groove sheathing (that we specifically requested since our roof rafters are on 24 in. centers), installation of Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration (Architectural) Shingles, installation of heavy duty and wider than normal drip edge, installation of a previously non-existing ridge vent (Owens Corning VentSure), installation of bath fan aluminum roof caps (that they agreed to include in the cost days after the proposal was provided), hook-up of the bath fan ducts that were previously run to the vented soffit, and clean-up and haul away of all materials at the end of the job. About a week later, installation of new seamless gutters (w/ gutter guards) and commercial sized downspouts was completed by a subcontractor with Home Evolution oversight. A crew of 7-8 workers showed up promptly at around 7:15 AM on the day of the job along with a main foreman for the job (Vasiliy). A second foreman (Ivan) also assisted on the job in various ways. Each of the crew members had a set responsibility to complete the job in a very efficient manner. This included crew members to tear off the old shingles and sheathing, a crew member simultaneously cleaning up the old shingle and sheathing debris, crew members completing cuts of the new sheathing and loading the power ladder with new materials, members preparing and installing flashing for a lower roof section, a member installing the lower roof shingles, at least three or four members installing the new main roofing material, etc. Meanwhile, I was able to talk with Vasiliy (primarily) and/or Ivan and ask them many questions. Both were very accommodating to answer my questions and requests that I had, and did a great job overseeing all aspects of the job as it progressed. The crew worked hard and steady! Within about two hours from the start of work, both layers of old shingles and the old sheathing were removed, and the new roof was being installed promptly thereafter. Installing the non-standard 5/8 in. tongue and groove (normally 1/2 in. no T&G) sheathing on old, somewhat sagging and twisted 2"x6" rafters had to be somewhat challenging but seemed to be no problem for the crew. After a short break for lunch, the entire crew was back at work. By around 2-3 PM the entire job was completed including cleanup. I give them an A -A+ for most aspects of the job. I rated the cost as a B not because the job was overpriced necessarily, but being an engineer, I just have a hard time agreeing that anything that costs 5 figures is an excellent price. I do think the cost was fair for the quality and speediness of the work completed. The team cared about details, which I very much appreciate. This included snapping chalk lines on the new sheathing, making adjustments as needed to ensure the ring shank nails (the best!) were properly installed through the sheathing and into the rafters, carefully replacing the attic insulation after the fan ducts were pulled up, etc., etc. I have peace of mind knowing that the job was done right. I also know that they are only a phone call away if I have any questions going forward. Alex, Vasiliy, Ivan, and the rest of the team are very trustworthy people. Excellent service from Home Evollution. I had Home Evolution replace my roof. Here is the outstanding service I received. 1. Free evalluatoin of current roof. Alex got on my old roof, took digital pictures of problem areas, downloaded them to his I-pad. 2. Alex showed us on the I-pad the problem areas and also showed us what he and his crew do, step by step in replacing my old roof. 3. We had some idea of color range of shingles we wanted. Alex gave us several samples of colors that were in the range we were looking for. We are very pleased with the color he suggested. He offered us the best price of three contractors we had interviewed for this job. 4.On the day scheduled for the roof replacement, 6 men and equipment arrived at 7:30am. By 6 pm of that day the roof was done, all equipment removed and clean up complete. 5. This contractor has excellent quality control. THe next day a supervisor from Home Evolution stopped by to check the job . He found some roofing nails on the ground and brought serveral men back to make double sure the site was free of nails. 6. The best part of this job is a new roof without one leak! In previous re roofing with other contractors there usually was a place where flashing or something else as amiss. I called Alex - the owner of Home Evolution to make an appointment. With in a day or two he was there to give us the quote. He climbed around the roof, took pictures and prepared everything on his computer in minutes. I was very impressed with his professionalism and great personality. Home Evolution was THE best contractor experience I've had by far. They removed and replaced our crumbling chimney, added an attic fan and replaced the roof on the addition on our house. The estimate was beyond fair and we never felt pressured. He answered our MANY questions completely and with patience. The removal of our old chimney was seamless and the new chimney built by Victor is beautiful. I was worried a brand new chimney would look too stale and modern for our 100 year old house, but it is beautifully crafted and fits perfectly. The attic fan installation by Andre was very quick (and very funny) and he ensured that we knew how to operate the new fan. Additionally, their team that removed the old roof, rotted wood and replaced with a new leak proof synthetic roof, did it in less than one day. All this work was done within the month of our first visit for an estimate. When they were finished they left the yard so clean, you would never know they were there. I can't say enough about the quality and professionalism of the home Evolution crew. They came early and left late truly dedicating their time to get things done in a timely manner. My project had 2 phases. First was the main roof. It was done in a day using the best products. The roof looks great. Second phase was repair a portico that I knew was leaking. They quoted me a reasonable amount for structural damage. As the crew that was going to replace the flat rubberized roof took off the roof it turned out that the entire structure needed to be rebuilt from scratch. I truly got my money's worth with the quote of repairs for structural damage. It took 2 days for a totally new framed portico. The next day the crew for a flat rubberized roof showed up. The roof had a challenge of sealing around posts that support the railings. This was always my concern with my original contract that built the portico. Home Evolution out of Albany, NY will drive 1.5 hour to a job, luckily, I was 1.18 minutes in the Northern Catskills. I couldn't find anyone to do my job late in the season as the local person backed out at the last minute. I called, they came and did an estimate which I felt was reasonable for a remove old shingles, put ice shield down, put new shingles. I had old fashioned boards which they replace if necessary, but luckily mine were good, they replaced vent hoods, took extra care to fix an area I was having leaks. The foreman told me any problems, they guarantee their work for 10 years (just call them) shingles were the best, 30 year shingle. They came around 8.m., crew of 6 or 7, stripped it, I had to go to a dr. appointment. When I got back around 1:30 they were almost done. It started snowing just as they were finishing. They did a great job! I would use them again. And they cleaned everything up so you couldn't even tell they were there, used magnets for nails just in case. Great job. read more

The Home Evolution representative first inspected our roof and attic area and took a video of the inspection.He then showed us the video, pointing out the deficiencies and the positive points of the inspection. There was no doubt that our roof needed replacement. He then pointed out, how the replacement would be done, showed us the materials that would be used, and how our roof would actually be upgraded from how our original roof was constructed . Lastly he gave us a fair and reasonable price for the work. Because of a trip out of town, I required the work to be done ASAP. The rep called his supervisor and the company agreed to begin work that very next Saturday. Because of inclement weather, they agreed to work on the next day, Sunday. On Sunday, 11 workers came to our house and started working. The job was completed by 6 PM. The workers were, polite and diligent. The cleanup was very thorough. Home Evolution did an absolutely wonderful job replacing our roof and installing two new skylights this spring. We had a relatively intricate job, involving a turret and a three story high roof with many angles. Igor came out and explained the job, our options and gave us a price. They got us in as soon as the rainy, cold weather subsided, and had the entire roof done in one day, working from 7:15 in the morning until dark to complete the work. Alex arrived the next day as promised, on time, and finished all of the clean up and fixed any spots on the roof where we had concerns. These guys are amazing. We bought our house in September only to be told by our lovely insurance company a month later that if we didn't replace the roof, they would be terminating our coverage. They gave us 30 days to get it all done. Igor came out to our house, gave us his presentation and quote and promised us that they would get our roof done by our required deadline. Gabriel and his Crew replaced my roof in a 12 hour day. My roof was in terrible condition, leaking into my attic for a year. There was plenty of damage to be repaired. The Crew came (and when they say between 7:00-7:30 for arrival time, they will be waiting patiently for the clock to strike 7:00!) They worked hard and diligently. Clean up was to perfection, as was communication. I am updating this review since Home Evolution sent there best roofing crew to complete the roofing job that went unfinished for some time. You may recall I said, that we went with the highest quote which was from Home Evolution to get our entire roof replaced. It cost use our entire savings of $11,050.00, but we were thinking that it was an investment in the house and surely the highest bidder would give the best quality of work. The completed roof project does look great. I am going from giving Home Evolution one star to five stars since the workers desire credit for doing an excellent job. We used home evolution to replace a complicated roof three stories high with 2 layers of shingles installed by previous owners. They did an exceptional job replacing the roof correctly along with some areas of rotten boards. This was a big job that took many workers more than 2 very long days. We are quite pleased with the work itself and the problem solving in troubled areas. I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 star review only because communication was a bit lacking at a few points in the process, we had some damage to plantings around the house and found nails left in the driveway. Andre and his partner did our roof repair within a week of quote. Prior to work being completed the quote I was given by Ivan was very detailed and thorough which is why I went with this company. They even made a video of the roof to show me visually the problem. They were also the only roofing company to ask to go in attic to do an inspection! The quality of work was great. The crew showed up before 7am on the first day and worked until 7pm. They finished up the 2nd. day around 5. The roof looks fantastic.
