Since purchasing our house I've been on a consignment/vintage kick. Vintage doors, hardware, furniture, and pre-loved favorites have been my jam. Lucky for me, this spot is truly a consignment gem. Don't judge a book by its cover, the interior of this place is pretty sizable, and bonus, the prices are pretty solid. Additionally, the quality of their furniture is great. It is quite literally everywhere you look. Light fixtures are hung above your head, seating options are displayed everywhere and art paints the walls. Headboards, tables, unique seating, prints, patio furniture, and even jewelry, they have quite a selection. That being said, the only feedback I'd have is better attention to customer service. I think I was acknowledged once, if that. That acknowledgement was a glance, and a response to my "good morning". I'd love to be welcomed into the store, a nice hello, and a check in while shopping, but everyone has off days and it's possible that I experienced a one off. Given the stacked furniture, I think they've outgrown their current warehouse space, which is not their fault, but it can make it a bit difficult to see and appreciate all of their offerings. I can't wait for them to expand to a larger space, but for now, I'm very happy that they're part of the neighborhood. read more

First of all, there is a mediocre selection of items to choose from. The quality is awful, from scratches that are not disclosed, to fabric having burns and stains. The most discerning thing about this store, is the rude, disrespectful, negative, and judgmental attitude from the employees. These are (very) grown women and I wouldn't even give them the courtesy of saying they had customer service. They are the opposite of what you want your company to convey. Do better. read more

Do not recommend for selling. After several emails with Cynthia, who was helpful and confirmed my table and chairs would be accepted, I made the long trip to the store. I was upfront about a minor scuff on one chair, provided clear photos in bright light, and even shared the original receipts. I also asked in advance how to prepare and what to expect when dropping off my items. When I arrived, the woman at the front desk was dismissive from the start, firing off questions without letting me answer and making it clear she didn't want to deal with me. Another staff member came out, and as soon as she saw a bit of dust on a chair, she said their staff "could not be asked to clean them." She then pointed to the exact scuff mark I had already disclosed and acted as if that alone disqualified the set. I had driven over an hour and a half and done everything I could to be transparent and prepared. Instead of professionalism, I was met with rudeness, indifference, and shifting standards. If you want to be treated with respect, don't waste your time here. I am sure they sell some nice stuff but i do not patronize businesses that go out of their way to be rude to people. read more

This is one of my favorite places. So I am pretty into sustainability and additionally I absolutely love a good deal. This is my home basically. I have been shopping here for over a year, and i've gotten multiple pieces. I would recommend that you look over everything in detail to make sure that You are happy with the quality of the item and any knicks and scratches with it. In general you will get a very good deal. Parking- Parking can be quite tight and there is only a very small spot in front of the store so you can walk directly in. This is a shared parking lot and you will probably walk a little bit. Staff- Staff can be hit-or-miss but in general I have found that most people are really nice. I have never had a negative interaction. Prices - You generally will not find anything below two hundred dollars except accessories. A lot of stuff is coming from z gallery and also from model homes. Stock- Nothing is put online and it constantly changes. So you have to keep coming back.. And general I will keep stopping by and keep checking into this place. read more

If you have not been to The Home Consignment Store you need to run there. When I tell you I get steals here, I absolutely mean it. My husband and I have been coming here since they opened and always find deals. Today was the biggest steal of them all. They were selling a Z Gallery Sideboard for $199 bc it had literally a small gash in it and some residue on it from tape on it. It is originally $1699. I got home and put some goo gone on it and I'll get some wood filler to fix the gash. Literally a STEAL! We absolutely love it. Also we love all of the customer service and not to mention the guys helping us today to get it into our truck. They really deserve the biggest thank you because they literally do all the heavy lifting. We are customers for life! Love this place! read more

We stopped by today to see if they had any patio furniture that would work with a love seat I bought 2 years ago here and yep found the perfect set and it was priced to sell. I LOVE the merchandise in this store. It's like a treasure hunt and I've bought several EXCELLENT pieces at reasonable prices. Most of the staff are pleasant although the manager ... not so much. I wish they would stay open until at least 7 so that people who work 9-5ish could shop after work hours. Since the restaurant opened directly in front of the store, direct-access parking is limited as restaurant customers use the store's parking ... suggest they get some signs to reserve the spaces just adjacent to the store for shoppers. read more

Don't do it! You have many better options including Facebook Marketplace, nextdoor.com, eBay and Craigslist. Worst case scenario would be donating them which would be killing two birds with one stone: you would get tax deduction and would rip the priceless benefit of helping disadvantaged people while creating jobs (so many great options such as Something Special benefitting Women's Shelter, or Humane Society, Goodwill or Salvation Army). In my experience, cosigning your items to Home Consignment Center - Woodlands is equivalent to setting your items on fire. I got a negligible fraction of what my items were worth. I did not get paid for every items they sold. After they took the items, their communication with me was almost non-existent. I highly discourage you from cosigning your item with this place. read more

I will never shop here again! My cousin and I shop here regularly when we go to lunch in the area and yesterday we went but had my hubby with us this time. While there, I had to use the restroom and saw a short hallway in the back that had doors marked men and women, so I used it. When I came out, my hubby mentioned he needed to go also so I showed him where to go. He was in there about 10 minutes when a store employee came up to me and my cousin. She explained to us that they do not offer their restrooms to the public. I told her we were sorry because we didn't know because there were no signs. She said it was on the hall door but I explained to her that the door was open and I didn't see it. She went on to tell me that they don't allow the public to use them because they are not equipped for the handicapped. She went on to tell me that she was worried about my husband's safety and said I needed to " go check on the elderly man that came in with you because he has been in there a bit long." Y'all, he is only 58 years old! She wasn't a young woman but probably in her late 30s, early 40s. And yes, we had just eaten lunch, and he had to potty. We were so embarrassed, and when she was speaking to us, she didn't even try to lower her voice so as not to share our conversation with other shoppers. Her words weren't rude, but her delivery was. . And I also need to mention that their prices are unfairly high! They were reasonable when they first opened, but i can easily find new items for what they are asking for used. They won't last with the current economy if they dont start pricing fairly. First of all I want to say I love this place! Have bought a few pieces from here and they are very reasonably priced unlike other resale shops that charge new store prices for used furniture. But I do want to say the store needs to give their employees that move stuff around a lesson in careful handling of their stuff.. In one weeks time because I was in and out several times I saw several pieces acquire damage while sitting in the show room from one day to the next, some it it pretty major damage from in store handling . So disappointing because they were beautiful pieces... But it is a great place to shop otherwise... read more

I have used HCC to sell several items through the years. They are fair, professional, honest. They don't come across as if they think they are superior to you. Anyone who has contacted a few shops, know what I mean. the moving service they use is amazing! Very very happy! keep up the great work! P.S. I hear this place advertised on morning radio endlessly. Let me be honest with ya.... what I saw was mostly junk including a custom made 4 foot globe of forks chandelier that was $6,000.00!!!! They did have a nice selection of patio furniture and that's exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, their used patio furniture was priced very close to new patio furniture next door at chair king. I don't want to be overly critical of this place because inventory probably changes from day to day. My experience was that it was mostly Craigslist junk. The chandelier in the entry sets the tone!!! This store is all furniture items. They have plenty of items but I must admit all items are quite high price wise. I understand is a business but I mean all this furniture has been refurbished. The cheapest item I found, besides wall paintings, was a wine rack console/bar for $169. The item was in good shape but for a second-hand item I just can't see myself paying that much. I passed by HCC numerous times before I ventured in. Once I did, I convinced myself this would be a good place to sell the bar stools and wall ornaments that I was no longer using. I have to admit, this was my first experience with consignment, so I had no idea how long/short it would take. The wall ornaments sold almost immediately! Yahoo, I checked my mail and there was a check! The bar stools took about a month and a half to sell, but once they sold, I received a check in the mail! The Home Consignment Center in The Woodlands area is such an interesting store with a wide variety of furnishings. We recently saw a china/display cabinet there which seemed to stand out, but it wasn't the style we had initially been looking for. The staff offered to put a one-day hold on it so we could think it over. We ultimately purchased it, and are very pleased with our decision - and the price seemed very reasonable. In addition, everyone at the store is helpful and pleasant. Because it's a consignment store, you never know what you'll find there - but that also means it's a good place to find unique items. I had experience shopping at these stores in California and Nevada. I was so happy to see this one open up in The Woodlands. I have since sold a number of items through them. Items that do not sell in 3-6 months or so can then be donated by them and you receive a donation receipt for tax purposes -- nice -- you don't have to find and take it to a charity that will accept it. You also have the opportunity to take it back if you don't wish it to be donated. This is way better than trying to sell on a online outlet like Craigslist, especially if you don't want the worry of who might show up! I have bought several items from them and stop by every once-in-a-while to see what they have in. Its a good place to sell furniture and decorative items when you're moving because you don't have to continue to visit the place to receive your checks or to dispose of remaining pieces. read more
