Tried this new food truck at Flytrap Brewing. They serve the Wilmington area and offer egg rolls,…read morefries, and chicken fingers. Eggroll options include Cheese steak, Bacon mac and cheese, Pepperoni pizza, Sweet Cuban, Monte cristo, and S'more. You can buy two egg rolls for $6 and mix and match is allowed. I felt full after eating 4.5 egg rolls. You can also convert your egg roll into a topping on fries. The egg rolls are wrapped in a thin egg roll wrapper and deep-fried. Most of the egg rolls were crispy except the bacon mac and cheese. Best to eat the egg rolls as soon as they are cooked or they turn cold fast. My first favorite egg roll was the Cheese steak and my second favorite was the Pepperoni pizza. The cheese steak had thinly sliced tender ribeye with mozzarella cheese. You get to choose either A1 sauce or Mayo drizzled on the cheese steak egg roll. I preferred the Mayo. The Pepperoni pizza had thinly sliced pepperoni with plenty of mozzarella cheese, drizzled with marinara sauce. The flavor was basically like eating a pizza. The bacon mac and cheese egg roll had good flavor but wasn't crispy. It had creamy mac and cheese and smoked bacon, drizzled with smokehouse BBQ sauce. I wasn't digging the Sweet Cuban egg roll probably because it was missing the pork. It had deli sliced ham, swiss cheese, gherkin pickles, drizzled with Cuban mustard. The Monte cristo was good. It was only slightly sweet, not overpowering. It had sliced deli turkey, ham, Swiss cheese, a drizzle of raspberry jam, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. The S'more egg roll was good for dessert. Be prepared for sticky fingers. It had lots of marshmallow fluff, milk chocolate, graham crackers crumbs, drizzled with chocolate and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Would eat at this food truck again.

I was fortunate enough to get to sample many of the items before Making the official menu. I absolutely love the monte cristo and Cuban egg rolls. There are so many more to come when they get up and running. They have French fries, and really good deals. Very clean food truck and this will be the one to beat eventually.

2nd Round: Plump, juicy and wet BBQ Chicken Wings + Seafood Mac & Cheese for lunch!  I could eat a…read moreplatter of that Mac & Cheese...soooo good. FOOD: Chicken wings were very large, served up steaming hot, fried to a light-skinned crunch and smothered with some savory / sweet BBQ sauce. With just the right amount of heat, then dipped into the cup of ranch dressing...oh my. Fries were as to be expected with a light dusting of salt and minimal seasoning. Crinkle-cut aren't my top choice for fries and a little extra dusting of some southern seasoning would have added some more "bang" but still good. The highlight today was that Seafood Mac & Cheese with extra creamy cheese blended in with fresh backfin and claw crabmeat and medium-sized shrimp...seasoned and grilled wonderfully. I enjoyed this side very much! SCORE: 4.7 STARS!! SERVICE: Travis and Co. were on their A-Game today with soggy weather and light drizzle in the air. The food was served up hot, fast and with smiles all around. Well done again today. Consistently good service each time I've visited. SCORE: 5 STARS!! OVERALL SCORE: On Thyme brings that southern comfort food that you know you'll enjoy and come back next time for more. Great food, fryers were working today and a homerun delivered. 4.85 STARS!!

They gave us a pager buzzer to let us know when our food was ready. My partner enjoyed the Burripleta. The Tripleta was great, it's essentially the same as Burripleta, except it uses bread, not tortilla. They both come with roasted shredded pork, grilled chopped chicken, chopped ham slices, house sauce, and thin potato stick chips. The bread was 6 inches in size and it was so soft. The chicken and pork were very tender. The house sauce is like a remoulade sauce. I couldn't finish the whole sandwich but my partner finished his Burripleta and was full. The tostones were good too but I would have preferred it a little bit more crispy. The Mofongo was excellent. This was my second time trying Mofongo with the first time being in Atlanta, Georgia. The one in Atlanta pales in comparison to this Mofongo. It was so flavorful - a mound of mashed plantains with pieces of fresh roasted garlic. I didn't like the papas locas much so I would skip that next time. All in all, great Puerto Rican food!

These subs are the absolute best and I can't begin to explain to you how amazing they are!!! The bread is soft yet crunchy, the size is perfect, the ingredients fresh and tasty, and you can actually hold one in your hand while eating! The Fughetaboutit (I might have spelled that wrong, but essentially the Italian sub) from Eastside was so good!!!! We were so happy and collectively said it was the best thing we have eaten in Wilmington to date. The sub roll is soft with the perfect amount of chew... the meats were delicious and slightly toasted perfection which also allowed the cheese to meld into it. Nothing was overpowering or too much, it was really the perfect sandwich. 10/10! I can't wait to find them again and try another sandwich, but it will be hard not to get this one again!! Location was Mad Mole Brewing! For their Oktoberfest celebration.

The Patacones aka tostones ($11.15) was basically a small plantain sandwich with tons of shredded beef, slice of fresh mozzarella cheese, green sauce, sweet sauce, sandwiched in between two small crispy tostones. Wish I had some salsa to add to it to add extra flavor. The Asadita Steak ($12.25) was an arepa with carne asada, pico de gallo, green sauce. The arepa dough itself was crispy but a bit too oily. I liked their creamy mayo based spicy sauce they gave in separate containers. Not much vegetarian options other than sweet plantains and cheese. Food was overpriced, but still a solid food truck to try if you are willing to spend extra.

The Innovator is a huge 10 inch thick roll sandwich, loaded with thinly sliced 100% grass fed ribeye beef, sauteed onions, American and Provolone cheese, and topped with Flamin' Hot Cheetos and a Sriracha sauce. It was spicy and very filling. I would have preferred a little bit more cheese, otherwise it was a good cheesesteak. My meal companions enjoyed the Overtime and the C.E.O. cheesesteaks. Also tried some fries, which were crispy crinkle-cut fries seasoned with parmesan cheese and herbs. They were good, but not as good as how Cheesesmith does it. Staff were friendly.
