Arepa St. - Grilled beef arepa

Visited this food truck at Broomtail Craft Brewery. Facebook is a good place to find out where they…read morewill be and what day/time. They accept credit cards. They have a variety of arepa fillings, including vegetarian as well as vegan cheese. You can choose whether you want it grilled or fried. Partner and I ordered both grilled ($8.75) and fried beef ($8.00) arepas and we got a huge portion of shredded beef. His beef was bulging out of his arepa. The beef was flavorful and moist, with a salty seasoning. The arepa corn flour dough thickness was good, not too thick and not too thin. We both couldn't finish our arepas-they were very filling. I'm glad I didn't order an addition of cheese because that would have been way too filling. They had 3 sauces you can add to your foods. Only got to try 2 of them: a spicy orange colored one and a cilantro one. They were both mayonnaise-based and made the arepa taste much better. Also tried a tequeno, a fried cheese stick of queso blanco enclosed in a pastry dough. The tequeno was good, not oily. White cheese does not melt much, so it's not very stringy. They advertised on Facebook (on the day we visited) that if you ask for the daily special you get a side of plantains for free. The plaintains came with cheese and were cooked well with some crispy bits. Next time I will try other arepa fillings!

I tried one of these (chicken) for the first time while a patron at Waterline Brewing. It was…read moreimpossible to eat in a ladylike manner whatsoever. I had to lean over to take each bite, because, if I had tried to pick it up, all of the food would have fallen out onto the table (because the container was so ridiculously small). Would never have one of these again.... especially at a WHOPPING $10 (for a sandwich!)

Such a great BBQ food truck! They're at PPD almost weekly,…read moreand can be found around town like at Downtown Sundown summer riverfront concerts, or they were recently at the inaugural Pride Fest Block Party! Their service is fast and friendly. They're available to answer menu questions and even remember your name as a regular customer :) Their bbq sandwiches are flavorful, and they have fun menu items like cowboy fries! Their brisket is the shredded version, though I prefer sliced ..but it's still really good! They have a variety of sides and each meal comes with a few hush puppies, which a crispy and the best hush puppies I've had! (Sorry Fat Bobs in Buffalo, you've been replaced) All in all, a great BBQ food truck!

The other foods I tried were the coleslaw, baked beans, green beans, cornbread, pulled pork, beef brisket, mac and cheese, and banana pudding. The only food I did not try was the corn on the cob. Coleslaw and baked beans tasted like the usual, decent. Cornbread was very soft which I liked but was too sweet for me. Pulled pork and brisket were okay. They had a spicy and western BBQ sauces, which were okay, not my favorite. Mac and cheese was not my favorite, like from a school cafeteria. The banana pudding was the worst - tasted like an artificial pudding.

I've been wanting to visit here since they opened. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon while they were…read moresetting up for an event. DJ going, bar open and a few food trucks to choose from. We went with Lynne's concessions which we've seen around town before...burger and a chicken quesadilla both came with fries. Really good! The guys behind the bar were super friendly too. There's corn hole along with a few other games set up and lots of places to sit with umbrellas and shade. Our daughter had a great time running around with all the other kids, which was great that it was enclosed for the most part. Restrooms on site and FREE parking. Support local!

Arrived around 530pm and was able to find close street parking (free). A lot of people were already…read morethere with their dogs and kids, so all of the limited nine bench tables were filled up. They also had one long bench seating lined up on one side, close to the bench tables. Sitting there made it a little awkward to be in such close proximity to the people on the bench tables. Small Pole table trays were available too if you don't mind standing. There's plenty of open space, so hopefully in the future they can add more seating. It may be a good idea to bring your own seats and side table if you want to do extra work. Four food trucks were lined up on one side: Rude Bwoys, Italian Ice, Gusty Peruano, and another one. There was a short line for Gusty Peruano. The pager they gave us notified us when the food was ready, took less than 15 minutes. Food was great, although expensive. The Smashburger was delicious, but the fries were on the softer side. Causa a la Limeña was good too. We didn't get drinks since there was an extremely long line, but when we initially arrived, there was no line. So if that happens to you, take advantage of that while you can. The DJ was starting to set up right when we were leaving. There were some cornhole boards. Didn't see any bathrooms or porta potties. Gusty Peruano made it worth it to visit, otherwise, not sure if I would be back.

Tried the half hotdog half cheese - but next time I would get the full cheese. The hotdog was good but I didn't prefer the half and half. I would go either full cheese or full hot dog! A casual space to enjoy the great weather. Even thought its counter serve, they should ask if it's first time and explain the menu to you. The guy who took my order was patient, but an overview of the menu would have been helpful. But the main reason why I'm disappointed is because there is not near as many French fries on the corn dog as the picture shows. I get food doesn't always look like the pictures, but they are extremely overselling how many fries come on the corn dogs - almost half my dog was missing fries! Also, I asked for my sauces on the side and they come in such tiny cups which don't include near enough sauce but also the opening is entirely too small to fit the corn dog into, making it difficult to dip. I also got passion fruit boba tea which had real passion fruit pieces in it - this is not advertised and takes away from the boba. Overall, this place is gimmicky and people just go for the novelty.
