The maternity ward nurses, staff, and doctors are amazing. They really know how to care for you and your new baby. They were awesome! The only issue I had with the maternity ward is that it is not updated. The furniture and rooms look like they are from the 80s. They really need some serious renovating. They can easily modernize the rooms with some up to date fixtures, furniture, and decor. Hopefully they update it soon so it doesn't feel like you gave birth in the 80s. It really makes the birthing/recovery experience better when you are in a nice room. read more

The nurses were so considerate and kind! especially Isla, not the correct spelling. she was in 22, right near the nurses station! my daughter was admitted. My husband was admitted to Holy Name Hospital on 4/15 and released on 4/17 he was released with a diagnosis of heart failure practically he was sent home to die! since people abuse minorities especially Hispanics people! They kept on diagnosing him with Covid despite the fact the he tested negative 2 times. 6 days later he underwent triple bypass because he was found to have coronary artery disease! My 78 year old mother-in-law was admitted to the Telemetry Unit at Holy Name Medical Center, in Teaneck, New Jersey, on April 14th, 2021. Even up to now, I do not know what her status is, how she's doing, or if she's receiving proper care. Every time I called the hospital for an update, I was put on hold for a few minutes, told by whoever was answering the phone calls - who didn't even bother to identify the unit and say their name - that the "nurse [was] busy," and instructed me to call back at a later time. I followed their instructions. I called multiple times. I left my number for a return phone call. They never returned any of my calls, and despite their lack of service, I maintained a non-confrontational demeanor, even as I increasingly grew worried about my elderly loved one; I wanted to be able to ensure my mother-in-law's well-being, no matter what it took. My 4th call was answered by an extremely rude nurse who told me she was in the "middle of report" and "not the assigned the nurse," and therefore couldn't help me. She abruptly put me on hold and forgot about me, leaving me on the line for a very long time. What bothers me the most about this situation is the fact that I AM AN ICU NURSE myself, and never have I hung up on people - especially a concerned family member - who are simply asking for an update. read more

Wow. Is there an option for 0 stars?! I walked In with severe stabbing lower left pelvic pain. Waiting area had about 8 other people. Everyone got called then I got called about 30 mins after arriving. I got triaged. Then told to give a urine sample. After providing the sample I was made to walk around to one waiting area, to the main waiting area, then to the receptionist with my urine specimen in hand for about an hour. Although I asked on several occasions for it to be taken from me. Everyone that walked into the ER and past me examined my urine in my hand, it was very dehumanizing to be holding my waste on display for everyone for no fucking reason. When reporting to the triage nurse I told her I've had chest pain infrequently at rest that I would also like to get checked out because I don't often come to the ED and when I do it's because I've added a slew of issues that I can no longer ignore. So why was only CBC and electrolytes ordered? Why not PCOS panel because of my history? Why not trops? D-dimer? How do I know this? Because I asked the Phlebotomist what she was drawing before she did. I also requested a smaller needle to which she responded with strong and unwelcoming body language with a needle of about the same gauge which hurt like hell. Its actually encouraged that if pain can be controlled for without giving up other important steps draw blood without hurting the patient. she went in hard and deep for no reason what so ever- and was Disgusting and unremorseful. I'd rather die than be left to wait at the hands of incompetent and rude staff. I wasn't given a form of refusing treatment upon leaving because they don't care and/or don't know how to do their jobs. I once thought holy name to be a reputable place to visit if you were in any form of distress now I would not even send my enemy there. Go to englewood instead. read more

Today did not go as planned for me at all. I started with a smile on my face. I was on my way to pain management for my back. I'd finally talked myself into getting the shot that was supposed to relieve my herniated discs. Before Hackensack Medical Services and my neurologist Dr. Nasiek would administer the shot, they tested my vitals. My blood sugar read 525!!! After careful discussions, we called my primary care doctor and endocrinologist specialist. The primary care doctor said go straight to the Emergency Room. For the last 20 years, I have used Holy Name Hospital. I delivered both my sons there, my family trusted them when my oldest son's eye socket was shattered and repaired there. I have always trusted their professionalism and care. Today was stressful for me. I was scared and upset that I couldn't get the pain medicine shot. I was disappointed in myself when my blood sugar was so high and out of control. What was I don't wrong? For two weeks, I felt lousy and good off and on. I didn't take medicine correctly at all. When l arrived at the ER, I was checked in my a lovely nurse. Her name was Paula Lilly. She was awesome. She escorted me to a great guy called Johanner. He was awesome. It's all downhill from there. I cut the tv on because I was so bored. I also used it to drown out the loud and obnoxious conversations from the other two patients. I didn't feel like hearing about bed pans and urinating. The nurse Michele started out so nice. I always ask questions and found out the other nurse was a student trainee. Her name was Melissa and she was kind at first. She even got me warm blankets. The worse was the phlebotomist. She didn't smile (you can still see or sense the joy through the mask ) or nothing. By the time, my blood sugar went down, they were pushing me OUT THE DOOR. I was ready to go as well. Patient care wasn't caring at all. And I was told the doctor wasn't going to come and review my file with me. How rude, I thought until he did stop by and tell me I was okay. Temporary issue. I have stayed away from Englewood ER because they used to be terrible. I am not trying to go to the hospital again, but if I do - I think I will try them. Let's do better people. I have what I would consider "delinquent" breasts. Because of this, I'm constantly having biopsies, cancer scares etc etc etc. Well, when NJ changed all the rules for insurance, they pulled the place I had been going to for 25 years and gave me 2 choices. One of them was Holy Name. I've never heard of this place before. Looked on yelp - OMFG - horrible... but I had to make an appointment (for my quadruple biopsy) On the day of my appointment, I went in through the secret side door just for us breast folk. Waited about 30 minutes and was called in for my procedure. The Dr doing it was Dr William Ko. He was gentle, funny, informative, and was able to save me a lot of pain by using only one incision for the 4 questionable areas. His side kick Melissa was warm and fuzzy and just made me feel very comfortable. To be honest with you, I've never had such an enjoyable biopsy in all my years of breast crap. I only gave them 2 stars because I'm pregnant and my visits thus far were good until my recent. The person doing my ultrasound kept complaining she couldn't see my baby. The lighting on her screen was off so obviously that's the reason why you can't see the baby properly, I have something else growing inside me not only the baby so I asked her if she could check it, the only thing she kept saying was "I don't think I can see that". Everything was I don't think I can see it , can I see the baby face I don't think I can see it, can I see if he's breathin properly "I don't think I can see it " in my mind I was like are you blind because Ik I'm not , my appointment was rushed and I felt uncomfortable. I had a wonderful experience at HOLY NAME hospital especially with the help of the respiratory therapist by the name of Nicholas Pipito. Not only did Nicholas take care of me he is my anxiety and made me feel better educating me with my respiratory issues he is very knowledgeable caring and sympathetic to all of his patients it was a pleasure to receive care from such a wonderful person . This place is running a scam and I would never go here again. They tell you they take your insurance and you're in-network, they do the test, then they file it wrong and bill you, you call them and it's agreed that this is a mistake and you shouldn't owe anything and not to worry, the next year you get a bill again and same story, the next time they send you to collections. Call collections, they agree the medical center screwed up, they send it back to holy name and close your account with collections. Holy name re-files with a different insurance and for some reason don't get the money, and instead of letting you know or billing you to let you know this happened, they immediately send you to a different collections agency... If you call them to ask what the heck happened, they don't want to talk to you at all, talk over you, don't let you ask a question, and just put you on "hold" not meaning to ever answer again and then don't pick up when your number calls again to ask what is going on. I have nothing but the utmost hate for this hellhole. Also when I did go to these ultrasounds, heavily pregnant and with an appointment time, I had to sit for HOURS waiting for them to see me, it was absolutely ridiculous. Today I went on the tour of the birth place and went to the prenatal class called caring for your new family!! The hospital was kind of oldish but nice the lady who gave us the class and the tour was so amazing and awesome I seriously want her to live with us!! She's so smart and is a great teacher! THEY DO NOT HAVE A LEVEL 3 NURSERY NO NICU !!! Baby Daddy's aren't so accommodated they have a sleeper chair but it doesn't look comfortable lol read more

Wish I could leave a 0-star review. My son was brought in on a Friday night. I was in the ambulance and heard them radio ahead to request the neonatal unit be on standby. We arrived at the hospital, and the staff was shocked to see a baby. They sent someone to another wing to grab the neonatal supplies, such as proper-sized needles and masks. We waited for the supplies. At one point, a Doctor requested '"Gloves!'" Nobody responded. I myself went to the wall, grabbed gloves, and put them on the doctor. We were shunted around to 4 different rooms, and the nurses at each of our stops told us we had been sent to the wrong wing or department. Their communication was as their medical performance - non-existent. Medications were ordered by the doctor, and took literally hours to arrive, at which point it was too late to administer them. The Doctor said so. The Doctor told us she'd be right back with the meds, and instead she went off-shift. I approached a Nurse, who said she'd just ordered it and ''they're mixing it up right now". This went on for literally hours. It did not get better. Sadly, it never will get any better for my son, and at this hospital, I'd bet it never will for anyone else. read more

Mom is here recovering from a total hysterectomy and some. My family and I are very pleased with her care here. The environment and the staff are all top notch. Very clean facility.. I work in healthcare and know what a good hospital should offer. This place is it. Great communication.. Clean clean clean... Mom gets to choose her meals, way better then not having the option to choose, full menu is offered to her. They have a full liquid menu as well for when she had restrictions.. One problem I had is the cafe downstairs. Food is good hospital food. Today they were serving "cod". Review for the Patio Grill at the hospital: I had lunch here two days in a row while viaiting a patient and I was pleasantly suprised. At first glance it does not look like somewhere you would want to eat (the decor is nothing special at all) but my roast beef sandwich was very good! My chicken salad sandwich the second day was also scrumptious. They give you condiments on the side, which is a bit annoying, but the pickles and potato chips are DELICIOUS! The staff is fine as well, speedy at making the food actually. For a hospital "grill" I'd say it does a good job. There are porbably other options in the area but for a quick bite (where you don't have to leave) I would come back again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! We had the worst experience of our lives here. Paramedics and ER staff were extremely unprofessional. First off, it took 5-7 minutes for paramedics to get there, and when they got there it took them a long time to leave and get my mom in route to the Emergency Room. The paramedics were having casual conversation and LAUGHING while our mother was fighting for her life. DO WHAT'S BEST AND AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS. When she go to the ER, as they were trying to resuscitate our mom, one of the female medical "professionals" (in a white coat) was laughing while they were using the machine to do compressions. Basically, as our mother was DYING, one of the staff was laughing in the room. In addition, they did not allow all three of her children (us) in the room. The front desk clerk stated that they were trying to stabilize her. Meanwhile, she had no idea. Lastly, as we were watching over our mother's body within family, we had one male "medical professional" come in to grab something; VERY INSENSITIVE TO US AND OUR LOSS. Who walks into a room while family just got the news that their loved one just died?! When the "doctor" came to speak to us about why she possibly died, he repeated "I'm not sure" multiple times. In sum, even him as the highest regarding professional, could not even answer our questions or console us as a family who just lost their mother. We are so disheartened by this experience by the overall medical team and their insensitivity to us and our family. To anyone thinking about going to this hospital, please do your best to AVOID it. This issue is with regard to the patient care my mom received at Holy Name Breast Center a month ago. The whole story started as she got called in by very unpleasant technician named Althea. First of all, she told my mother to change into a gown and left her in the room only to come back after ONE ENTIRE HOUR. Undressed with a piece of cloth of my body she got so anxious and freezing in the AC while waiting for her to come back the whole time. When the tech finally showed up, she finished the ultrasound in the most careless way possible. It literally took her less than 20 seconds, as if she was testing the machine. Then she said "done" and just got out of the room with my mother half naked and her breast coated with ultrasound gel. She was lying on the table confused and not knowing what to do as she wasn't even handed a single piece of tissue to wipe the gel. She had no choice but to wipe it with her gown. She got out of the room and asked the staff if she should wait to hear about the results. The staff then told her "go back and sit" as if she would talk to a pet. My mother felt so mortified and ashamed after this encounter at Holy Name Breast Center. Avoid this place by all means if this is not the way you'd like to be treated. read more

I used to see Doctor Roger Green as my primary care doctor when I lived in NJ. In that time, I felt very heard and seen. However, I moved to Florida after graduating college and getting a position in my field. In that time I searched all over for a primary care I felt comfortable with but fell short. The FL healthcare system is very different here and it is hard to find good doctors. I called Dr. Green to see if we could do telephone appointments so I could still care for my health and because at the time I trusted him. He agreed and I was very grateful. However, when I scheduled my first appointment the receptionist gave me a date and time but when that day came I received no call. I called her and she told me she never booked the appointment that previous Friday accidentally and would need to reschedule. She had days to notify me of this mistake but she didn't, if I hadn't called I would have never known she never scheduled me. This was the first sign of unprofessionalism, Then when Dr. Green finally I called I felt rushed, not heard and not seen. I was having some very real issues and health concerns but felt completely dismissed. He was all over place, I sent my blood work in which he promised he'd look at and he never did. The phone call was a total of about 12 minutes, in which I felt just as unheard and uneasy about my issues than before the call. That of course did not stop his office from charging my insurance $310 for a 12 minutes phone call. Feeling like I was stuck I kept calling back for appointments, I have severe headaches and he did prescribe me pills for those but even then I felt rushed during the appointment. Again another really short call, about 10 minutes and another $310 bill to my insurance. After this I kept my distance but then I had a unique health issue happen and I felt really hopeless so I called Dr. Green's office and was basically laughed at by the receptionist and told to go somewhere closest to me. Kicker is a Teledoc doctor actually helped me and prescribed me what I needed over the phone. I was heard, I was seen and it wasn't a service I would have ever used until I felt that Dr. Green failed me. The last straw was when I called for a prescription I was told he'd fill and the receptionist was rude and told me to find a doctor in Miami because they couldn't help me. Number one, I live nowhere near Miami and never lived there. Doctor Green was supposed to give me a list with doctors in my area after our first phone appointment. But to no surprise he did not. She had my address and the city I lived in but didn't care to do the due-diligence and help me. To be very honest, I do feel failed by him and his office. I am disappointed and feel that my insurance was scammed by him because no ones time is worth $310 for a 10 minute or so call. Ive been to the ER multiple times. Doctors and nurses were very friendly and nice. The last time I came here, I was with my daughter. I wasnt very pleased with this visit to the ER. They couldnt figure out what my daughter had. She had rashes on her arms and legs. They tested her for strep. Took a couple hours to get the results but it came out negative. But the whole reason why we went to the ER was to figure out why she had the rashes on her. It didnt itch, so I knew it wasnt ezcema. She had high fever which kept going away and coming back. They ended up sending us home with instructions. We were in the hospital from 5pm - almost 8pm On top of that, the waiting room was full that day and everyone was getting impatient. They would call you in to get your vitals, then tell you to wait outside but it would take over 30 mins to get a room. One patient actually talked to us, he had blood in his urine and has lymphoma. I was lent a Blood Pressure machine, the finger for oxygen and the thermometer. My doctor said to my nurse (who is nice) that I have to be monitored..for my vitals... So I was given a nurse...who helped me with my COPD.... But, I didn't get to keep...it was made expensively...I was called to tell me to leave it outside all I was told is to leave it outside between 11 and 3...BUT that day had a storm and it would of blown away...so I was waiting till they rang the doorbell (which they didn't) on that day... I see a women who didn't even come to my door BUT to their door downstairs...and no one told her that was my name....she was so scared that I touched it...she should of wore gloves and she was so angry..at me..no body told me the reason, I had to leave outside and she wanted to know why..so I got very angry and threw the box...and how stupid can that women be? I had to touch the bag....' REVIEWS Very poor and unprofessional staff, they almost kill me 3 years ago. as well my wife was to close to died because the incompetent staff. I had a surgery 3 years ago and the after care medical service was very poor, ( Off course the billed over 100k to my insurance) while I was there, I presented a high fever due to an infection that I cached there and that was NOT treated properly, they neglected my medical situation. My personal Dr. was called, I he advocated to get the right antibiotic, saving my life. Also, 2 years ago, my wife suffered a very bad experience there; despite they knew and the staff were informed that my wife can not tolerate Morphine, they used twice, to the point that she collapse. Nurses and staff were told that she my wife was extremely allergy to morphine; I keep asking myself why these ugly staff used again morphine to the point that they have to resuscitate her due to their ugly mistakes and unprofessional medical procedures. They Holy Ugly Hospital, sent a separated bill, because they resuscitated her, this is real crazy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Holy Ugly Hospital for any reason, some staff are very rude and some nurses got angry if you ask them for something, i wish I can civil sue them for the physical and emotional suffering they caused to us. Not that I go to many hospitals, but I'd say this one's pretty good. The place is very clean and organized. The majority of nursing staff are very sweet and attentive. They're really flexible w/you wanting to stay a little longer than standard visiting hours w/your loved one. All the rooms are cleaned everyday and the linen don't feel too over used. Easy access to nearby juices, water, ice, microwave or other food items for patients. The rooms come w/modern flat screen monitors that hang over the bed w/an easy to use, unimposing flexible arm to move it around. For $12 a day, you can have access to TV, Internet and phone service.. anywhere in the U.S. Patient food's a pretty high standard. They offer a large, constant variety of food items to pick from including soups, salads, main course, dessert and drinks. Visitors can also request room service meals! You can call in for it on your monitor and it'll come within 45 mins, just make sure to purchase a $10 meal voucher at the front or else you can't purchase your meal. You can also visit their cafe which is open pretty late and also open for late night hours. Meals are cooked to order and their specials of the day are cheap and pretty good. Parking's $5 a day, but you can also park on side streets if you plan on being a frequent visitor. Staff are very friendly and always offer to give directions to those who look lost. Transporters are very careful w/patients too One thing, and it's not a minor thing, is the majority of Drs who did visit my loved one weren't particularly friendly and not very open to answering our questions and concerns.. kinda had that "im the dr, your opinions don't count" kinda prideful way... that was a turn off read more

My father had knee replacement surgery and when attempting to visit with my wife I was rudely informed by the useless front desk attendant that since my mother was already in his oom, we were was only 1 more visitor (2 per room) and that this mysterious policy was just "enacted yesterday". The room has 3 chairs, my father is stuck and has limited mobility due to the surgery, so explain why the room can only have 2 visitors? It's a single room to boot. Avoid this hospital and thier "enacted yesterday" rules like the plague. read more

This place is awful. Employees here are RUDE and INCOMPETENT. My mother's nurse failed to explain that my mom would have to push a button every 15 minutes to release her morphine drip. So when my mom woke up crying in pain - I had no idea what to do. Nurse had no bedside manner. Didn't even apologize for her lack of information. Ordered food for my mom. Person who delivered her meal entered the room yelling. (Who yells in a post-op room?) AND slammed the tray down. Didn't say have a nice day or even acknowledge our presence. My mom said she was thirsty and I didn't feel comfortable giving her water. She was half out of it and lying down. I feared she would choke. I expressed my concerns and the nurse looked at me like I was nuts for asking her to help with the water. The one star is for Lisa Tripodi's service. Top notch. She answered our questions. She was kind and courteous. Everyone should take a page from her book. I hope I never get ill or in an accident near this place. It's the f*cking pits. read more

Came to the ER earlier in the week at around 1:30 pm. There were probably about 4 other people waiting ahead of me, the check in desk said it would be about 30 min wait. They took me in about 20 min, which is not bad at all i must say. Took me to my room, waited, then the doctor came and said they would do a scan. Waiting, and waiting and more waiting. Finally after an hour with no presence in my room i stood and walked out to the nursing station (mean while they were discussing what to order for dinner) and asked whats going on did you forget about me? They brushed it off quickly saying "Oh someone is on their way." The staff was friendly enough. The doctor was just doing his job. The ER was defiantly not busy. Aside from all the waiting around, i would come back here. TIP: Remind nurses you are there, or else you will be waiting... read more

I had my daughter here and know several mothers who have given birth here as well. The Birth Center is very nice, clean, safe and secure. I had a private suite and I was pleased with everything. The staff was very professional, helpful and responsive. The nurse who helped me push was amazing. I can't think of her name, but I can tell you that she was incredibly good and encouraged me during a very scary and vulnerable time. I also had a very positive experience with the Breastfeeding Consultant, Johanna Gorab. Johanna is in one word, OUTSTANDING. She gave me a lot of advice, support and confidence. The food was pretty good for hospital food. I love the fact that there is a chapel in the hospital as well. This is not a huge hospital but it is reliable, clean and effective. I would not hesitate to come here again for medical care. read more
