Stay away from this clinic. Doctor has no bedside manner (one with long hair and bad hygiene). Barged into the exam room without notice and didn't even introduce herself and just came in asking "what's the issue today". I had to ask her if she was a doctor. So unprofessional and disrespectful, especially when you're caring for patients in vulnerable states. As someone who also works in healthcare, I would like to say shame on you. She had zero empathy or compassion. The one good thing I have to say about this place is that the nurse was nice. But front desk staff was also terrible. They obviously hate their job. read more

The woman who did my exam was dingy and demented. She went out of her way to make sure it was a painful exam. I told her I never experienced this sort of pain during an exam before and she remarked that she was doing it on purpose and was trying to "be extra rough" on me. I never received a number from the creep performing my exam nor the brain dead fool at the front desk. So, when I called in today, I got the same dopey blonde I saw at front desk that day and she now had refused to be of any help since I didn't have a number that THEY failed to provide me with. She wouldn't look up any information for me and kept telling me its a HIPAA violation to tell me MY OWN visit information. That whole uncomfortable visit was useless. The rest of the staff seemed very decent, however, I unfortunately didn't have any dealing with them. Avoid this place at all costs. Neither of those woman shouldn't be dealing with the public at all. I couldn't imagine a woman coming in for something as traumatic as an abortion or a patient coming in with any seriously stressful circumstance and having to deal with the same two scum that I had to. The front desk F SUCK I walked in didn't even finish explaining what was happening/issue and they just went do you have appointment or not...I said no just walk in (as I called the number to make sure I could walk in) they were rude one just rolls her eyes and didn't take me in then they said they stop walk ins at 1pm (no where did they stated that when I called) they said If it's an Emergency go to urgent care...I said no I don't have insurance which is why I came here and they just said come back Monday we're basically closed (whole hour left till closing and there was no one waiting) read more

This is not necessarily the fault of the Hackensack location but of this organization as a whole. Their website lists that they can refer you to someone who can perform sterilization. I made an appointment and waited, until the person at the front yelled at me saying they don't do that. I said that it says on the website that they can give you resources and a referral, since this actual location doesn't perform it, obviously. I started crying and the front desk person had to calm me down and then basically said I have to go through my insurance. Fine. But it was a waste of time and gas trying to get here. For such a large organization, they really need to say that they won't even see you, or refer you, to anyone for that. read more

This place is really cozy and comfortable. I came in for free testing, and the nurses are very kind and welcoming throughout the entire process. My biggest recommendation would be to make an appointment (even if it's just for testing)! We walked in (no appointment) and waited about 3 hours to be helped. We overheard the nurses saying they were short-staffed, so we assume this is why the wait was so long. Either way I'd recommend just setting up an appointment. Once we were helped, the process was fast and easy. read more

Comfortable place with professional staff. I was treated with compassion and in a non-judgmental way. The nurse, Yvonne, was lovely. She was calm, patient and explained how and when to take a certain medication in a clear, concise manner. There is a comfortable waiting room by the check-in area and further inside. This place is wonderful. Please donate. My understanding is that federal funding was cut. Women need affordable gynecological services in a clean, safe place where they are treated with great compassion. I liked the staff there very much--more than my private GYN (who I will never see again). read more

Both made me feel comfortable and took the time to address any questions and concerns without making me feel as if they were in a rush. Highly recommend these two and the service they provided. The women who schedule appointments are so lovely. The women at the front desk of this location are not only rude to each other but also to the patients. The one bigger Caucasian lady was extremely rude to another patient that asked if she could be helped. She said "you have to wait" with so much attitude. Everyone in the waiting room looked up at this woman. Why would you hire such miserable people to be the very first face your patients see when they walk in? The only reason I come here is because of the actual doctors and nurses. They are so kind and patient. I've been to multiple doctors but the ones here really help and listen to my concerns. read more

I really appreciate what PPH does for women and men and I align with their values of accessible reproductive health care for all. That being said, I recently scheduled an appointment and when I walked into the waiting room it was completely packed. Thinking "Surely, those of us who scheduled an actual appointment would be given priority", I sat down and waited. An hour went by. Long, but if I was going to be called right then, I was okay with it. I sat as I watched people who arrived AFTER me walk in and be seen by the doctor. I even saw them leave while I was still waiting in my chair. 90 minutes pass by before I am called to meet with a nurse for some pre-exam questions/paperwork. It would be another 15-20 before I'd get into an exam room. I had scheduled another doctor appointment across town for 2 hours after this one. I literally ran out of time for my gyno appointment, so unless I was okay CANCELLING my other appointment, I essentially had to walk out of the office I had already invested 90 minutes of wait time. Off the charts unacceptable. My appointment was made a week in advance. Even *if* the office had exceptional circumstances, where is the transparency at patient check-in to say, "Hey, we're experiencing an unusually long wait time and currently it stands at ____ minutes. Would you like to wait or reschedule?" At the minimum, I could have salvaged that 1.5 hours to go do something a lot more productive. Separately, there is no reason why someone who made an appointment should wait longer than 1 hour. They are a business just like any other gynecologic office. They bill my insurance to get paid just like the rest. Run your office like the healthcare business it is. read more

I have been going to this PP location for 3 years. The service and treatment I've received from the Physicians and Nurses has been amazing. However, receptionists are often rude when asked questions about wait time for a medication refill. Today, the receptionist made me feel like she was doing me a favor by verifying my insurance for a refill when in past visits I've been in an out within 10 minutes. I will be without insurance in 2 days and wanted to get my pills before I could sort out my healthcare options. I understand they have other patients and things to do, but it feels sometimes like the make you wait for your 3 month supply of pills on purpose. Sad part: there was a volunteer collecting stories of the positive impact of PP in people's healthcare, and I gave great feedback without knowing how disappointed I would be within the next 10 minutes. This location is a great option if you go on your day off and get past the rudeness of the receptionists to get the amazing healthcare Physicians and Nurses provide during consultation. read more

I'm so SO thankful for this PP. Prior to them I was going to this old man gyno (because he delivered me, he was my mom's gyno, etc) who kept telling me my symptoms were normal and nothing to worry about. But PP listened to me and turns out I had a bacterial infection. Even the exam felt like it was the 1st time I ever had an exam like this the doctor was extremely nice and THOROUGH. I have my confidence back and I feel great. Definitely a great place. read more

I used this facility twice in my late teens, early 20's. After losing a premature son, my husband and I were trying to conceive again. I was late for my period, went in to have a beta subunit blood test. They refused too do it unless I signed a document that I would terminate the pregnancy if the test was positive.? I was married and had lost a 2 lb 10 oz son. I did not want to terminate. I wound up walking out at the young woman wouldn't budge. At age 24 I had the right to want to be pregnant by my husband. I wasn't and it took 10 years to happen due to a botched surgery but WANTING a baby should be part of "Planned Parenthood" too! read more

I went here to get an IUD inserted. This place was clean with big comfy couches. I was super nervous, but luckily, Alice was there. She was super nice and helpful. The NP, Eileen was great in walking me through step by step so there was no surprises and she was gentle. Both get and Alice made a painful experience doable. read more

Disclaimer: I was at another planned parenthood several months back and had a wonderful experience.. my review is intended to inform regarding this planned parenthood only. Furthermore, I only had experience with a secretary at the front desk, I cannot comment on the quality of the actual care itself. I made an appointment at planned parenthood out of desperation: I have no money, terrible insurance, and a dire need for an ob/gyn. I've tried getting appointments with any doctor in a 20 mile radius, and have had no luck; thus, planned parenthood is/was my only option. I walk into my appointment, the girl behind the counter points to a stack of paper (for name, DOB, reason for visit, income etc..), I fill that out, hand it back, she asks for my insurance. I give her the card, she looks at it for 30 seconds and says "oh we don't take [insurance name]". I said ok, and inquired as to why they did not tell me that when I scheduled the appointment.. She said "well they probably didn't ask you what your insurance was...". Fun fact: they had, I told them, they said it was fine. It's worth noting here that my "income" is negligible and barely pays the bills. She tells me what I need is exorbitantly expensive out of pocket (a whole paycheck's worth of money) and that I can't even get in to see a doctor for less than $150. I had to pay upfront, no financing options. She knew my income, it was listed on the form. I pretty much begged her for help, she refused to even attempt to help me.. she just told me to "go somewhere else". I looked at her and immediately burst into tears and left the office. Isn't planned parenthood supposed to be for those who have nowhere else? I didn't, still don't, and have no idea what to do. read more

The whole center is clean & cozy. I went with my girlfriend, who needed BirthControl. Nurse Yvonne was great. She went over all the different types & took her time to explain so that we both understood. Very professional, pleasant & caring. The wait was long, but that's not her fault. I had the worst medical experience of my entire life here. I'd never been to a PP before, but I'd always donated, so when I needed it for pretty standard reproductive heathcare, I didn't think twice about going. However, over the course of four appointments, they told me I had a diagnosis that I don't actually have, they couldn't explain what my actual diagnosis was (they told me they'd spell it for me and I could look it up online), they gave me a procedure without informing me what it was even though I'd asked twice, they didn't tell me how invasive the procedure would be (i needed stitches and was not notified), twice when I asked them why they were performing the procedure, they replied "to get results". They wouldn't tell me what they were doing to me or why or what they were looking for. THEN they didn't tell me that the stitches weren't dissolvable, so I had to go back to get them taken out. When I returned from a trip to get them taken out, the entire staff told me that the PP didn't take stitches out and I'd have to go to the hospital. I pleaded with them to take the stitches out because they'd given them to me and arranged the appointment with me. (It was a total mindfuck.) Then they took out my stitches, but without novocain and without informing me of how painful it would be. It was incredibly tortuously painful and the doctor kept screaming at me to relax. She wouldn't tell me what was happening or how long it would take, she just kept screaming at me. Additionally, I'd also been to the Englewood location, but switched to Hackensack after I didn't like the way the doctor had treated me. It's the same doctor at the Hackensack location, so I will stay away from both locations from now on. All in all, this was a total traumatic nightmare experience and I will be writing to Cecile and the national Public Relations team about it. What they did was not right and they should not be allowed to operate, especially with people in vulnerable positions. read more

Been going to this location for almost 5 years now, and have never had a problem expect for the wait time. Attempted to call today to see if there were any available appointments for an issue I've been having, and the girl on the phone proceeds to tell my no appointments until Thursday. I can't wait until Thursday! She then asks me if she can find me another location close to me, wouldn't you know all the other locations are either closed on Mondays or permanently closed down! Now I have no other options. I think they are super unprofessional!! Avoid this location! Update 9/6/16 Called today to get an emergency pack of my birth control. the girl on the phone tells me they don't that, unless I get my pills directly from this location. Had this issue once before and had a prescription called into the pharmacy but now they won't do it?! Now again I'm stuck with no options and need this emergency pack. Girl who answered the phone was also very rude and hung up on me! Definitely never using this location again!! read more

This was my first visit at this location, First, I took a HIV test and then had to wait for two hours in the waiting room when I was finally seen by the nurse she couldn't even remember that she gave me back my insurance card. I sat in the room for at least 30 minutes freezing before doctor Yelena Kantarzhi came in, she grabbed my breast with her freezing hands and when I told her she just ignored me and did not even care. I was trying to decide if I wanted to stay on the Nuvaring ring or switch to pills with less hormones and she just kept rushing to make my decision. I had questions and she just said you have to decide whatever you want and left the room with the door open as I am sitting there naked. I asked her for a prescription when I got to the front they didn't even know about my prescription. At the front desk I never got my test results back from the HIV test. I was so disturbed by this visit I ended up leaving my purse in the room. The nurse called me to come back and pick it up and when I went to pick it up she told me I should just go back to Elizabeth location and that is exactly what I am going to do. I will never go back to this location and I don't recommend it to anybody who wants to get customer service and some care. read more

The office was extremely nice, clean, and professional looking, and has been recently renovated. The office staff were all professional, and I was offered coffee as I waited (this was for an am Nexplanon appointment). I had a nurse practitioner put my Nexplanon in, his name was Tony I believe, and he did a great job. All in all, very good experience. read more

Horrible place. Very insensitive workers. They pay a service to schedule appts but knows absolutely nothing about the company all o kept getting was in not sure you'll have to find out when you get there. So I drive all the way over here yet still cannot be seen all because they couldn't verify insurance info in which I'm not sure how a card can tell you what services are approved! Wouldn't you need to call the customer service to find that out! They ALL think that everyone is stupid that comes in there. Their "logic" makes no sense what so ever! They just don't want to be bothered, the more people they turn away the less they'll have to do. Before me they turned away another girl and I'm sure they'll be turning away many more as the day progress. That's why they over book and have people wait crazy hours for sucky service.
