Went to Aurora IL for the weekend and decided to try the Holy Mackerel restaurant a few weeks ago. The breakfast included eggs, sausage links, potatoes, and toast. The food was not seasoned so it was bland. The meal was okay nothing overwhelming but the customer service was great. I was looking for a lot more especially since it was in the Westin Hotel. Overall, just average. Save yourself the trouble and go to some of the other restaurants that are not far away.

Celebrating my bday with a friend. The place was empty upon my arrival which was surprising on a Friday night. It did pick up as the night progressed. Decor was upscale. Nice. The server was not overly friendly but fine. I ordered the fisherman's stew as recommended by our server. It was delicious - flavorful and generous. 5 stars. My friend ordered the white fish with avocado mashed potatoes. She enjoyed her meal as well. 4.5 stars. The dishes were a bit pricey so I am glad the food was worth it. Why just 4 stars? We were celebrating a milestone bday and our server seemed apathetic to our mentioning of it. Overall, her service was luke-warm throughout the evening. On a side note: located within the Westin hotel. Connected to Harry Caray's restaurant. We were actually given the choice to order from either menu.

Stopped by here for a Powerlifting competition. My friends and I stopped by here for breakfast. We ordered the breakfast sandwhich, breakfast biscuit sliders with bacon, sun rise skillet and the huevo rancheros wrap. Food here is delicious and prepared really well. The salmon was really fresh and the bacon here is quality. Prices are reasonable and the servers here are really friendly. The coffee here is decent and I'd rather come here than the over priced hotel Starbucks. I'll definitely be back in the future to try some of their lunch and dinner dishes.

Love this place. Came upon it during a weekend getaway and have returned several times since. The $99 Surf and Turf deal for 2 is the best!!! 2 salads, an appetizer, selection of surf and turf for each diner and 2 desserts. The portions of these selections are remarkable. It is not downsized by any stretch of the imagination. The food is delicious and has never disappointed. The steaks are cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The crab cakes are to die for. They also serve a crab brie appetizer which is absolutely delicious. The service is always professional and courteous. Either, this place is a hidden gem or we manage to always come during slow times but the intimacy of the ambience coupled with the lack of congestion makes for a wonderful dining experience.

Holy Mackerel was a great find conveniently located in the Westin hotel. An interesting cOmbiNation of two of Chicago's premier restaurants including Harry's dishes along with with it's own. With plenty of seating available you have an option to sit in the general lounge area or a formal sit down section. The service was on point and you feel welcomed from when you come in and throughout dinner. They have a wide range of wines and other options if you are traveling leisurely and also sport half off wine Tuesday nights. Kept it simple being in a little bit of a hurry so just tried a fish entree. The fish came out blackened very well. It was cooked a little over but still moist and delicious. The rice was a tad underdone but overall had great flavor and a bit of spice to round out the fish. Definitely recommend a stop in and those staying in the hotel get 15% off.

Located inside the Westin, next to Harry Carey's. Tried the seafood risotto. Wish there was more seafood. The risotto lacked flavor. Hotel pricing for hotel food. Ate here for breakfast two days. First day was the Creole omelette. The spicy sausage wasn't very good and the creole sauce was a little too thick to spread. Second day had the Chicago omelette. Was like a breakfast pizza. This was the best dish I had here.

Checked back in at Holy Mackerel tonight...always like to drop by and check out their daily specials. They had wonderful fish featured (always flown in same day) but tonight the surprise was a featured Duck Breast offering - Sriracha Orange Duck Breast with Oven Roasted Potatoes, al dente assorted Baby Carrots, Orange au jus. Excellent! Innovative! Unique! So flavorful/tasty! Presentation was too cool! I was told this was a Chef Ceasar creation. Needless to say the encounter always is made special by the superior staff, Leslie, Manager on Duty, Walter, Bartender Extraordinaire, and Issac, the Bar Back.

Went for breakfast but they stopped serving at 11am, this always infuriates me. You can't crack a freaking egg after 11am really? Luckily, the burger I got for lunch was so good I quickly forgot about the missed opportunity for a delicious brunch :) Service was very attentive, friendly and honest. He suggested which burger options (because there were a LOT of them) were the most flavorful, healthiest, and what was worth the extra costs. It was like a gourmet build-your-own burger bar. I had bacon, blue cheese, and BBQ on angus. WOW! Definitely going back to try brunch, and hoping this time I make it before the cutoff :)

The venue Wasn't too crowded which was a plus. I decided to have dinner with reservations @3pm with the App OpenTable. On time for my reservation with no wait time! Seated immediately, I was excited to have my waitress named Arielle. Immediately, she accompanied me with complimentary bread and water along with the restaurant cocktail and food menus. She was very happy to be able help in any way to make me comfortable and was just a joy to have. My first course was the Iceberg wedge BLT, with my cocktail smoked old fashioned. For the second course I spoiled myself with the filet medallions with lobster tail Oscar style accompaniment sides; truffled mac&cheese, and crab fried rice with mushrooms and scallions. Sheeeshh! That meal was phenomenal! Lobster sat perfectly on top of the beef medallions as they both were served and with gratitude I ate every bit of it! Truffled Mac & cheese were so cheesy it was a perfect mouthful. The rice also had some delicious flavors that enticed my tastebuds with savory goodness! Everything was GOODT! Easter Sunday with great food, good company, and dope service ! Check em out!

That is always a bummer when you have people without their meals. For the price, you have to send it back. My rib eye was very good but my wife and daughter's filets were well done vs medium rare. So while we had a great time and the service was top notch, the stars of the meals were not on point.

We arrived on a Friday night just before 9:00 PM and had no trouble finding street parking--always a win. We were greeted by our waitress, Jennifer, who was absolutely amazing. She let us know about their late-night perk: half-price small plates and select drinks on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM until close, which is such a great incentive for heading out later in the evening. Jennifer was attentive without being intrusive--our water glasses were always full, she checked in after every course, and her recommendations for both food and drinks were spot-on. We started with a Mad Rose for V and a Chameleon for me. Both cocktails were delicious, and after finishing his Mad Rose, V definitely felt the celebratory spirit kicking in. For appetizers, we shared the Vietnamese Summer Rolls and Sweet Chili Calamari. The summer rolls were light, fresh, and nicely accented with mint. The calamari was sweet with a surprisingly spicy finish--delicious, though the heat was just a bit much for V. I'd happily order both again. For my main course, I had the Wagyu Beef Stroganoff, and wow--hands down the best stroganoff I've ever had. The beef was incredibly tender, and the sauce was perfectly balanced with the noodles. It even paired beautifully with my Chameleon, with subtle lemon notes that complemented each other surprisingly well. V ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop, cooked medium well and absolutely perfect. He loved every bite. It came with a risotto that he enjoyed, even if it wasn't the standout of the dish. Dessert sealed the deal. We finished with Sandy's White Wine Cake--which reminded me of a carrot cake in the best way--and the Banana Cream Pie, which was easily the best banana cream pie I've ever had. Truly a WOW moment. Between the excellent food, thoughtful service, and great late-night specials, Entourage made V's birthday celebration one to remember. We'll definitely be back. Sorry, I wish I had pics but I left my phone behind today.

I ordered from Entourage Downers Grove and was honestly impressed with how well everything held up for delivery. The standout for me was the lobster bisque. It arrived at the perfect temperature, which is pretty impressive for delivery. The bisque was rich and luscious without feeling overly heavy, and the basil oil added a nice brightness that balanced the creaminess beautifully. It also had a generous amount of lobster, including several large chunks, and was a very solid portion overall. The filet mignon sliders were another highlight. Each slider had a substantial piece of filet mignon topped with pickled onions, microgreens, and horseradish cream on brioche buns. The onions and horseradish added enough acidity and bite to balance the richness of the beef without overpowering it. I also tried the Vietnamese summer rolls, filled with roasted shiitake mushrooms, fresh vegetables, and rice noodles, served with both peanut sauce and sweet chili sauce. Everything tasted very fresh, and the sauces complemented the generously stuffed rolls nicely. My only small critique is that cutting them in half made for a prettier presentation, but made them a little awkward to dip and eat. Overall, this was a surprisingly strong delivery experience, and I would absolutely order from them again, or better yet, make it over to the restaurant itself next time I'm in the area.

So my husband and I went to dinner yesterday at CG to take advantage of this limited menu. I love going to Capital Grille for the ambience and the impeccable service as well as their good food. We sat in the beautiful bar area. Jon was our server and was personable and attentive. First, we started with sharing the roasted beet and goat cheese salad off the main menu. It had a large cubes of roasted beef with crumbled goat cheese and a light citrus vinaigrette. Then we had our burgers. Hubby had The Grille's Wagyu Cheeseburger with grilled onions, steak sauce and Vermont white cheddar served with sea salt fries. I chose the Wagyu Blue Cheese & Black Truffle Burger with cabernet-braised red onions with truffle parmesan fries. Jan informed me that I could switch to truffle fries and I was in. We ordered our burgers medium rare and they came out perfectly cooked. The only issue I had was the burger had seeds on the brioche bun and I can't do seeds or nuts. When I pointed that out they immediately took my burger and back and change the bun for me. It was my bad for not making sure there were no seeds on the bun. My husband and I both went with the suggested wine to complement our burgers. He had the Merlot and I had the Cabernet, which we both enjoyed CG's pairing. This menu is such a good deal because the wine that went with my blue cheese burger was an Orin Swift Palermo Cabernet, which runs $32 a glass on Capital Grille's menu. So I enjoyed a damn good burger with that pricey full-bodied Cabernet both for $35. Dinner was absolutely delicious! If you get a chance, head over to Capitol Grill for their Wagyu & Wine special menu. It's running for another six weeks.

It did start to pick up around 8 PM, but by then we were wrapping up. If you've ever been here on a weekend, you already know...it gets crowded fast. So weekday evenings are definitely the move if you want a more relaxed experience. One thing I did notice is that the menu feels more condensed compared to pre-COVID days. The quality is still there, but some of the little details have changed. For example, the fried alligator now comes with a hot honey sauce instead of the original sauce...and I'm not sure why that changed. I get that restaurants have had to adjust over time, but I do wish they'd bring some of those original touches back. Also, don't be surprised if a few of your old favorites are gone or slightly different. Customer service has always been consistent for me...friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The atmosphere is more on the intimate side, nothing overly flashy, just a comfortable place to enjoy a good meal. Parking is pretty reasonable and the lot is spacious, but when it's busy, you'll definitely feel it. There were three of us, and we ordered the fondue, fried alligator, fried shrimp, three-piece stuffed crab, and blackened salmon with red beans and rice, plus a drink. After tax and tip, the bill came out to around $150-$160, which felt fair for what we ordered. Overall, this is still one of my go-to spots and I'll definitely be back. I just hope they consider bringing back some of the original menu items...or at least that original alligator sauce!

We promptly left only to find out an hour later when we were already home that our table was ready. We loved the restaurant, so we returned on Sunday to celebrate there. My mom complained to the floor manager Dawaan Williams about what had happened with the incorrect 4.5 hr projected wait time and he gave us an "appetizer on the house" and a $100 gift card for the inconvience only AFTER he argued back and forth. When our waiter Teerika Felix came in, she IMMEDIATELY had an attitude and was in a mood. She was short, snappy, and overall unkind to be working in a service job. We ordered our appetizer and all three of us only got salads. Because our wait for the salad was so long 30-45min, the waiter (Teerika Felix ) said she would comp it because of how excessively long that was. Although the service was poor and has always been at THIS location, we still left a $10 tip being that they had given all of this stuff for free ("appetizer on the house", comped salad, and the gift card). We left, and as we were leaving we saw the waiter (Teerika Felix) and the manager (Dawaan Williams) chasing after us and taking down the license plate of our car. Immediately confused, my mom got out and went inside to address this. To find out, the manager (Dawaan Williams) completely forgot he comped the appetizer and accused us of stealing it before we reminded him of what he literally told us at the start of our dining experience. We got the general manager and explained to him how humiliating it is to accuse LOYAL customer of abhorrent behavior because of lack of communication and memory. Also the lack of common sense is astounding. Why would we run out on the bill when you gave us a $100 gift card?? Teerika and Dawaan aren't that bright which is why they are working this lowly, menial job in their 30s/40s lol We gave back our gift card and got back our tip. Will NEVER go to this restaurant again.
