Alex and his team did a fantastic job installing a simple concrete patio at our house. I solicited…read morehis services on Yelp after reading through his numerous positive reviews (and even the one or negative ones) to determine he was the right guy for the job. Alex was very responsive throughout the planning and execution process, and even oversaw the entire installation. His crew were dedicated and skilled workers who were very kind. Scope of the project included covering an existing concrete slab. Alex made sure to add 3-4 inch rebar dowels every 24 inches and wire mesh to give the new layer something finer to hold on to, in addition to the binding agent for a more firm fusion. We also paid extra for the 3,500 PSI rated concrete given the Texas heat. Further, he extended the sides of our driveway, replacing the paver stone and gravel with level concrete. This also included fixing part of the walkway that had been pushed up by Live Oak roots, which was a tripping hazard, and now forming a smooth transition. Alex was also great when it came to pricing. He was very transparent, and me not being a concrete guy, asked a good friend who's been a general contractor for 30+ years to review the proposal and methods, and follow the work, all of which he said was done expertly. I'd highly recommend Ace for your concrete needs.

Please see my account page to view photos of our chipping floors…read more UPDATE ***I am editing my review b/c we have now lived with these floors for just over 3 years. I know, like you, I did not think they could get any worse..so so very wrong. I just lifted my couch to see that the safety gliders- you know the round things on the bottom of your couch used to protect your floors?- I now have FOUR HOLES in my floors where the gliders were. The floor has actually crumbled away completely in the exact shape of the protection gliders. It is clear and obvious that the overlay material the owner used must be incredibly cheap. We know dozens of families who all have concrete floors and not one of them has had the crumbling and chipping issues we have. Please, for your own sanity, use any other company- avoid this one at all costs. **** 1/20/2011 So a year later....we have lived with the floors for a while now. We are still having scuff issues but not as bad since we switched to a matte wax (per the owner's recommendation) as opposed to a high gloss. Still having major chipping issues, just found several more in my kitchen yesterday. The over all too dark, too reddish and splatter marks are for obvious reasons still the same so there isn't anything that can be done about that. Unfortunately, the samples he made us on 4x4 tiles were thrown away so I cannot include a picture of them for comparison. They were a medium tan color not reddish in the least. Which as you can see from the attached pictures, our floors are very RED- which we specifically asked to avoid....and they are very dark, which we specifically asked to avoid. You can also see from the attached pictures on my account page, it is pretty impossible to determine the finished color once the stain as been laid down but not yet blended. The problem with this is, the stain is already laid down so there isn't anything else you can do- you really have no idea what the end result is unless you do this as a living...which we don't. The owner responded that we lived 45 mins from town so that is why he was late every day. He would leave each day and tell us what time he would be back for the next day...our house wasn't moving overnight, not sure why he was still over an hour or more late every day. What time he arrived is pretty insignificant in the whole realm of things. Our issues are the overall color was nothing like the tan sample (and as he said, he can't really control that tho other contractors have said that is not true) and the fact that the floors are not holding up to normal wear and use. If one of my kids accidentally drops a fork it guarantees us yet another chip. It's so disappointing to pay a lot of money for floors but now have to constantly baby them.

My wife…read moreand I had to refinish an existing concrete slab whose original coatings from when we built (2007) had failed from the get-go, getting gummy and gross and melting anything made of rubber. Concrete polishing came into its own around 2009-2010 in the Austin area, and I really liked the option because it avoids coatings. Jason came highly recommended from a larger firm I knew about that focuses on commercial floors, and Jason helped us respectfully and honestly through the whole process, start to finish. Because it was the whole first floor of our house, we moved into a nearby HomeAway rental while Jason went to work. After a busy week of hard work, Jason delivered 1200 square feet of diamond-polished concrete on a slab that had never even been designed for such treatment. It has served us well for six years now and is by far the best floor surface I've ever lived on as far as durability, ease of cleaning, and day-in, day-out good looks. It's not a fancy floor, just a super-practical one that blends into the background when supported with nice rugs and furniture. The upfront cost, while not cheap, was comparable to laying hardwood, which would not be a practical choice on our main living floor. And the smooth, matte-finish, exposed aggregate we now have ought to last indefinitely. I recommend Jason and AllStar unhesitatingly. We love our diamond-polished slab concrete floor with the exposed aggregate and gentle luster.

Anyway, it is…read morealways in my mind and very important to mention that Milton at Quality Foundation helped us saving at least $30,000!! from another scam foundation company. Before reaching out to Quality Foundation, we had another Foundation company came over to check if our house had a foundation issue or not. We had seen many cracks on the foundation around the house, so we had some concerns. The foundation company, who came over, did the measurements many corners of the house and told us that we needed to have our foundation fixed asap. An estimate is roughly $30,000. Since it was a big money, we needed a second opinion. We did some research and decided to call Quality Foundation. It was one of the best decision in our life. Milton asked me some questions over the phone and from my answers, he confirmed that our house had no any foundation issue at all. He was polite, very professional and knowledgeable. This is the company that you can 100% trust. They don't try to scam you in order to get your big money from fixing something that in fact was unnecessary. Unfortunately, some unethical foundation company is still in the market and keep scamming people. In Sum: Highly recommend Milton and Quality Foundation.

They arrived on time each day, did top notch work, explained everything they found and did and left my yard completely clean. They truly exceeded all of my expectations. My neighborhood is older homes mostly on pier and beam and these houses inevitably need foundation work. I would not hesitate to recommend QRF to anyone looking for excellent, fairly-priced foundation repair.

Be Aware (edited 8.17.26)…read more My experience: I was given a strong sales pitch, but then there was no communication after the contract was signed about what to expect/how to prepare. The owner said the work would take half a day. The work actually took two full days. I would've been stuck inside my garage. Had a friend who had had foundation work done not told me to park on the street. The workers who showed up spoke Spanish only; no one showed up to communicate between customer and employees in case of questions/concerns. The workers laid out tarps to collect dirt, dug up and replanted landscaping, and seemed to work hard every moment of both days. I would love to know how much they were paid from the $6k I was charged. I provided snacks, drinks, and lunch the first day and ended up with a broken cooler. I managed to fix the cooler, so no harm, no foul. The workers never left the property the first day until they left to go home. If they used the restroom, they did it in the holes they dug and on my neighbor's (property camera to prove). The owner initially seemed unconcerned and referred to using the restroom on my neighbor's property as being cultural. He seemed more concerned about them going to the restroom in the holes, but not the illegal trespassing on my neighbor's property. Jackhammering cracked the front walkway the width of the walkway. I was assured I would be happy with the concrete patches after foundation work, but I am not. Additionally, in my opinion, the front walkway was not backfilled properly and it has sunk down far more than it already was resulting in a significant, dangerous slope. LS says it was like that before the foundation work, but we can agree to disagree. While the front walkway was somewhat slanted, the 30" cavity under the walkway did not exist before the foundation work. LS says otherwise and again we can agree to disagree. The plumber sent out by LS to do a static line/leak test performed the test incorrectly and the plumber lied. He used the sewer clean out in the front yard and also said there was pipe separation. That same plumber came back on a different day and said he had a better camera, but when he found out I had booked a different plumber to come out he left immediately without using the camera and doing a second leak test like he said he would. I hired my own honest plumber. He pulled a toilet from the highest point in the home for the leak test (which passed) and then showed me with a high resolution camera that there were no breaks or separated pipes. Had I listened to the plumber LS sent out I would likely have spent at least $20k in unnecessary work. I STRONGLY recommend anyone having foundation work done to hire their OWN PLUMBER for a leak test. I would not sign a contract requiring you to use a plumbing company that the foundation company requires you to use!! In fairness, LS did not require me to use their plumbing company for the warranty, but that company makes LS look shady so hopefully either that company performs leak tests correctly now or they are no longer used by LS. I contacted the engineer LS hired about inspecting the work on my property and they could not/would not provide any proof that they had been to the property. When I told them no one aside from LS employees showed up on my cameras those two days the engineer ceased communication with me. It has been one year since foundation work was done. I have various reasons, that I am purposely keeping private, for waiting this long to post a review. I pray the work that was done holds like I was assured it would. (The rest of that comment was edited/deleted.) Lastly, I have been emailed a Cease and Desist letter from the attorney representing LS threatening to sue me if I do not take down my review. My review is 100% both honest and fair. * pictures will be added soon
