If I could give zero stars, I would. The doctor's lack of thoroughness borders on negligence. The office staff leaves much to be desired. When I scheduled the annual physical for myself (late 50s) and my mother (late 80s), I was told that we would need an hour for each my mother and myself for these appointments.
During the exam, the doctor just asked a few questions of each of us, until asked why he wasn't performing certain tests.. He did not lay a finger on either one of us during the exam, no reflex test, he conducted a prostate exam me, only after I asked shouldn't he be doing so for someone at my age, and even I had told him about my problems with urination. Prior to the visit I had to argue with his office staff about ordering lab work for both my mother and I, so that the doctor could have results available for our appointment, as opposed to having an office visit to order lab work, and then a second office visit to review the results.
Despite his office staff stating we each needed an hour for our physical exams, we were done and out of the office within 15 minutes combined, and that included the time his nurse took in taking our vitals.
If an argument is made that it is because we lacked medical insurance and such individuals need to be treated as expeditiously as possible, that argument cannot be made. My mother has Medicare and a high end Anthem Blue Cross supplement, for which she pays over $800 per month, which covers 100% of the balance Medicare does not cover. As for myself, a have an individual Platinum Level PPO which Blue Shield.
To add insult to injury, 3 months after our visit, I was told by our pharmacy that they could not refill my mother's blood pressure medication and cholesterol medication because to doctor had refused the request for refill because he needed to see her. I was shocked by this information, as at the time of our last appointment, the doctor indicated that he did not need to see either one of us for at least 6 months, and we never received notice from his office regarding the denial of refill.
Needless to say, I have requested our medical records and sought out another primary care physician, before this man's negligence leads to catastrophic events. read more
