    Beignets

The hotel restaurant has great beignets. They were flaky, hot, and fresh. Once you order, the food will be delivered to your table. The location is beautiful and very clean. What a great way to start your day in the Hyatt Centric hotel.

We had breakfast here as part of globalist program w Hyatt. Breakfast was delicious I loved the light and fluffy pancakes, shrimp and grits and spinach omelette. My son loved the Yakamein but it's a heavy breakfast as it has beef, eggs noodles and shrimp. He also enjoyed the chicken and waffles, pancakes and breakfast sandwich. Green juice was also delicious.

Came here during a Christmas bar hop with my cousins. I asked the bartender, Felipe, how much a French 75 with Cognac would be. He listed different cognacs and I settled on Hennessy be. Before placing my order, I asked how much would a French 75 with Hennessy. Felipe told me $18. Ok bet, I placed my order and got a festive French 75 with Hennessy. I happily took my pictures for Yelp before receiving a bill for the $18 Hennessy plus a modified cocktail up charge of $4. I asked what the up charge was for and was told because I added cognac to my drink. Initially I asked Felipe for the total price of a French 75 with Hennessy and was told $18. He did not mention any form of an up charge. When I told him it's ok, just take it off. He took the drink from in front of me and went to dump it out. Afterwards I ordered ONLY Hennessy with the manager. This man threw away an entire shot of Hennessy, just so that the manager would have to make me a whole other drink with A SHOT OF HENNESSY. I'm afraid common sense is not common anymore.

Our bartender, Ken did a great job tonight. We got two complimentary drinks (beer or wine) since we are Globalists. It was really nice of Hyatt Centric to do this. And Ken was so nice to serve us with a smile. The bar is spacious and they have a beautiful curio where they feature gorgeous bottles on display. Really enjoyed looking at all the bottles. We have an awesome breakfast here every morning too!

I know it's a bar inside a hotel but this place is worth a visit! The drink menu is so creative and the drinks are absolutely delicious! Love their comfy seating.

This is a beautiful lobby bar/restaurant in the Hyatt Centric around the corner from Bourbon Street. I was seated at a high booth across from the bar where I had a great view of the jazz band that was playing. I ordered a cup of the gumbo to start, but I didn't like it at all. It was watery and had a funny taste. The hostess came over and offered to take it off my bill or get me something else. I ordered the deviled eggs instead. For my entree I ordered the Creole Jambalaya, which was excellent! It was a large portion of the rice and tomatoes loaded with shrimp and andouille sausage, with 3 large blackened shrimp on top. Tasty and like I said, excellent! The deviled eggs came out after I started to get full, but I ate 2 of the 4 halves. They were really good! I then asked for a to go box. The hostess was super sweet to help out while my waitress was busy, and not only did she bring me hot sauce and offer me more ice for my drink, but she brought ny check and when I asked her where the restroom was she walked me to it when she could have easily just pointed it out. My waitress was nice too and followed up to see if I liked the deviled eggs. Did I say they were great? I had a very nice evening, not rushed and with delicious food that I would come back here for.

Hyatt Centric is a pleasant surprise. Going to a bar in a hotel isn't something I would typically gravitate to but the drinks are top notch, the service is great, and the food is good. The area is a cute vibe too. -The craft cocktails are a must! Elder Daughter - Perfection Strawberries & Cream - Excellent dessert cocktail. Martini Espresso - Very Nice. The flavors blended well. Bourbon Refresher-Exactly that refreshing! -The service was great. The bartender Ryan is attentive and funny. He gave great recommendations for food and drinks. The other bartenders quickly attended to other patrons. -Fried Pork Chop Sandwich is a great bar bite and quite filling. The pork chop is a thin fried pork chop great on a sandwich. I thought the ham would be overkill but everything complemented each other nicely. -Blackened Salmon & Risotto. Great dinner choice. The Salmon didn't have a fishy taste and was seasoned enough...I would have preferred maybe a tad more blackening seasoning but still very good. The risotto went well with the salmon. It was cheesy with just the right amount of creaminess. -Wings. I didn't love them. They are passable. -Cornbread. Definitely worth getting. It's thick and dense without being dry. The condiment that comes with it complements the cornbread well. Would definitely soak up some alcohol. Also the bathroom was ridiculously clean!

I was looking for a space to host a very large group happy hour and called Holmes by accident - it was a blessing in disguise and I can't recommend this place enough. I spoke with Lau on the phone and then coordinated with Santiago who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a group of 50! Both gentleman were professional, kind, accommodating, and it was the best customer service experience I've had in a long time. Thank you both!

Stopped by for the Christmas popup and it was incredible! They did a fantastic job decorating and sticking on the theme of drinks that sleigh. I had the Ninja Gingerbread Old Fashioned and Santa's Sleigh and both were incredibly tasty and visually stunning. My partner also had a drink that I can't remover the name of but was serves in an upside down Christmas tree mug which was also tasty. We were there at happy hour and they gave free bar snacks and mulled wine as well. The staff were friendly and made incredible drinks. I had never heard of this bar before probably because it's in a hotel but it's on my radar now and I will be back.

    Nice bar area.

We got there just before 12pm, it opens at 11am and only waited about 15 minutes before spots opened up. It seems a lot of people come right at 11am. So by 12pm many people were grabbing their checks and heading out. The bar is really nice and even if you can't sit on the carousel, the bar area is nice too! The bartenders are super nice and friendly. Great customer service and everyone we sat next to was friendly and welcoming. The drinks aren't the best per say but you go for the atmosphere.

Atmosphere/Appearance: It's EXTREMELY BUSY and very loud in here. Lol. As mentioned above, the bar is located inside the hotel so once you walk in through the front door you enter the lobby then head to the right. It's a first-come, first-serve situation (at least it was for us at the time). So of course, the carousel bar is the highlight. It's a slow rotating bar rail and it's adorable. Lol. Almost the entire bar is eyeing any available spots so you have to be quick, but be respectful. However, there are tables and such sprinkled throughout the bar where you can hangout at as you stalk the actual carousel. My wife and I sat in the window which made for some excellent people watching. Lol. Eventually after what felt like an hour or we did spot some spots on the carousel, my wife held them for me as I closed the check then finally got to sit... and SPIN! The bar completes a full revolution every 15 minutes so you definitely won't get dizzy. Service: We had no issues here whatsoever. The staff is just super busy all over the place, but they didn't miss a beat. Food: For my first drink I checked out their Oaxacan Midnight which was like a tequila play on the Old Fashioned. It was delicious, a bit lighter than an Old Fashioned, but certainly stood on it's own. For our first appetizer bar bite we tried the Blue Crab & Corn Beignet which didn't come out as I was expecting. Lol. I'm not mad, I just pictured the big, fluffy things from Cafe Du Monde, but maybe stuffed with goodies! These were more like fritter than I absolutely loved so much I ordered a 2nd plate. Lastly we tried the BBQ Shrimp which was grilled to perfection with a good snap, excellent flavor and good char along with a tangy, cream sauce on top. Value: It's pricey. Food and drinks were decent, but a SMIDGE overpriced, but... they know you're going to pay because you're on vacation, you're a tourist and you wanna be in this novelty bar. Lol. Regardless, I had a blast and you can say you did too whenever you check this place out! In conclusion, I've now been there, done that. Lol. I don't have to do it again, but if you're in the area, check this place out. It's a good time.

It was 2 p.m. afterall, so not a lot of people were out in general. Turns out the band was great! Then people started trickling in and there was a good crowd enjoying the music with us. We had a great time, chatted with other patrons and a few of the band members. Good drinks, prices are on the higher end at ~$15, but still affordable. Before I start, this is my review based on my experience. I've noticed some people complain about…read morethe music, paying the cover charge, seating or the size of the venue. I'm not here to argue any of those points. I will say this: expecting live musicians to perform for free until you decide whether they're worth paying is ridiculous. The cover is usually only $5...$10 max. If that's a dealbreaker, this probably isn't your place. Stay home and stream Spotify. Now... I have some friends in town, and whenever that happens, a Monday night trip to the Spotted Cat is basically mandatory. I've been coming here for years and years. Yes, it's super touristy now, but it still gives me the warm fuzzies every time I walk through those doors. So I'm presenting the "compliment sandwich" review. Never heard of it? You start with a compliment, slip in some constructive-ish criticism, then end with another compliment. Supposedly people receive feedback better that way. Let's see. First, the music. Outstanding. Chris Christy wasn't what I thought I wanted to hear until I actually heard him. I felt completely transported. Man, can that guy play the guitar. It felt kinda like gypsy music. Then came the Frenchmen Street Allstars. The last time I saw them, they had a different lead singer and, honestly, they kind of felt like a completely different band, aside from the phenomenal drummer. This version did not disappoint. It was a great mix of jazz and New Orleans standards. Both bands were great! **Now a note to management.** Great music isn't enough. The bar should be every bit as memorable as the stage. Forgive me, I didn't get the bartenders' names, so I have to describe them by physical traits. The first bartender, the guy with the mountain of curly hair, was friendly enough and made decent drinks. Later, another bartender with a short haircut took over and made the best drinks of the night. Then there was the bartender with the black and hot pink hair. She looked like she'd rather be anywhere else. She rarely smiled, her demeanor felt unwelcoming, and it almost came across as hostile. On top of that, the drinks she made were so weak I genuinely wondered if there was any alcohol in them. Seriously. They were that bad. Here's my philosophy: if you're going to be grumpy, aloof, or have some other off-putting trait, you'd better make a mean drink. Years and years ago there was a bartender named Curtis who wasn't exactly sunshine and rainbows, but that man could make a cocktail. I didn't need him to smile because the drink did all the talking. If the drink is mostly soda, though, friendliness becomes a lot more important. Unfriendly and bad bartending is a double whammy. She must be somebody's child or partner because I can't think of any other reason to employ a bad bartender. I hate to belabor the point, but the drinks aren't cheap. Cheap and bad I can take. For another comparison, there's another bartender there, I'm pretty sure her name is Chris. She's been there for years. She's all business. Maybe a little surly. Who am I kidding? A lot surly. But she's a character. More importantly, she makes a great drink. That's the kind of personality that somehow fits the Spotted Cat perfectly. Now let me end with the final piece of "bread" on my compliment sandwich. The doorman deserves his own review. That gravelly-voiced "Welcome to the Spotted Cat!" is part of the experience. Then he absolutely hammers that stamp onto your wrist. Somehow you don't even mind because you know what's waiting on the other side: incredible music, a fun room, and one of the best nights you can have on Frenchmen Street. Just don't let the bartender with the pink and black hair make your drink.

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars.
